Allan Stubbs Hails Celtic’s Response To Title Race Pressure

We are currently in the midst of one of the tightest Scottish Premiership title races in recent years. With four league games to go, Celtic lead the way by three points.

The Bhoys are preparing to host Hearts this Saturday before Rangers make the trip across the city to Parkhead a week later.

The tension is rising as each game passes but at this stage of the season, picking up victories is of optimum importance.

Indeed, since a frantic visit to Ibrox that ended in a 3-3 draw, the Celts have won two out of their previous two league games.

A 3-0 triumph over St. Mirren caught the eye but Sunday’s 2-1 victory in Dundee was far from convincing.

Thanks to a James Forrest brace, though, the Hoops got over the line, and that is all that matters.

They showed an elite mentality to come through the game unscathed despite a late surge of pressure from the hosts.

Allan Stubbs thinks his old team are acting like champions amid the pressure of the title race.

He said: [talkSport via Glasgow Times] “I think Celtic have responded like champions.

“Celtic have been quietly letting a lot of people do the talking about them, where Brendan has been there and done it.

“I just feel like Celtic are in the prime position right now to do a Double – which people will probably look at as a mediocre season.”

Although there are two trophies still up for grabs this season, there is a wealth of football to be played before any silverware is handed out.

Things can change at the drop of a hat and freak results can happen but at the minute, the Bhoys are in a strong position.
