BREAKING: Aaron Rodgers willing to play for four teams in 2025 while Jets’ future is in doubt.

The future of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been one of the most hotly debated questions of the 2024 season.

Rodgers was acquired two seasons ago as the rumored missing piece of a possible Super Bowl team, but his time with the Jets has been everything but productive.

After suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in the 2023 season opener, Rodgers responded with a turbulent 2024, guiding the Jets to a 4-12 record while his head coach (Robert Saleh) and general manager (Joe Douglas) were both sacked midseason.

To top it off, many rumors say that if the Jets bring Rodgers back next season, standout receiver Garrett Wilson would request a trade, making it exceedingly improbable that Rodgers will be wearing green and white in 2025.

Rodgers has been noncommittal about his playing future, speaking in ominous hypotheticals about his plans for next year, but according to a Daily Mail report, Rodgers is willing to play for four teams: the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders, or Tennessee Titans.

“If the Jets keep him around, he will try to right the ship and give it one last go, but he believes he would be better used and be a better fit in Cleveland, Indianapolis or Tennessee, and he also would be interested in heading to Las Vegas,” a source told me. “That is where his mindset is at as he wants to play again, and he doesn’t believe that the Jets are the team that will take him to the promised land.”

All four of those clubs are expected to be in the market for a quarterback next season.

After restructuring Deshaun Watson’s contract, the Browns appear to intend to keep him, but given how poorly he has performed in Cleveland (9-10 record, 177.1 yards per game, 19 touchdowns, 12 interceptions), the Browns may want to bring in some competition, as stars such as Myles Garrett and others have stated that if the Browns begin a rebuild, they will leave.

Vegas and Tennessee are also no shocks, since both are likely ready to move on from Aidan O’Connell and Will Levis, respectively, and Rodgers already has a property in Williamson County (about 25 minutes outside of Nashville), making it simple to connect the dots with the Titans.

The Colts are the only wild card because they have not wavered in their support for former No. 4 overall selection Anthony Richardson. Perhaps Indianapolis could choose for a year of Rodgers, with Richardson, 22, sitting and studying behind him on the bench.

“Aaron wants to play again and finish his career on his own terms,” the insider explained. “And, while he has stated that he wants to continue playing for the Jets, he would also prefer to be released and try again with another team.

“…It has obviously not worked with the Jets and there is no reason to believe that it would work next year, a third year with the Jets is not going to be a charm and both the team and Aaron will likely move on from each other.”
