‘Caused them mayhem’: Peter Grant names two Celtic players that gave Dundee nightmares last night

Are we all still on cloud nine from last night? After watching that Celtic performance last night every fan will buzzing for the last ten games of the season.

The 7-1 scoreline holds a big place in every Celtic fans’ heart for obvious reasons but last night, the victory took on a whole new meaning for the rest of the season.

I know I was worried about how this season was going to end after watching Celtic struggle over the last few months.

But something happened against Motherwell last week that seems to have sparked Brendan Rodgers‘ side into life.

And last night, the Hoops boss’ team sent the fans home from Celtic Park delighted as they kept the pressure on at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

And whilst every player to a man put in a performance that was worthy of praise, Peter Grant named two Celtic players who gave Dundee nightmares in Paradise.

Hyunjun Yang and Alistair Johnston’s outstanding Celtic display

Both players put in an incredible shift on the Celtic right flank last night. It was clear from the kick that Rodgers saw where we could be at our most dangerous and his tactics worked a treat.

Five of the seven goals came directly from Celtic’s right-hand side and the build-up to Callum McGregor‘s well-placed finish was also the result of Johnston and Yang’s excellent play on the flank.

And the Celtic pair absolutely blew Peter Grant away.

Grant said [Celtic TV], “Him and Yang down this side of the pitch have caused them mayhem because they have put crosses into the box.

“Some of them may have not come to anything but they’ve made Dundee kick the ball away aimlessly.
“They made them give corners away. They made the keeper make good saves. We’ve got bodies in the box and that makes a hell of a difference.

“As a striker, they want the ball to come in the box as often as it possibly can because if it doesn’t get you then it’s possible it’s a defender it will hit off and that’s exactly what happened.”

Both players put in an absolutely brilliant performance for Celtic last night and it was great to see them both play with confidence. Especially Yang.

The South Korean has struggled at Celtic since his move in the summer but he now looks like he has settled well at the club after receiving special praise from Brendan Rodgers.

And who knows, Yang may very well have a huge say in this title run-in after watching his performances over the last two games.
