‘Changes everything’… Pundit pinpoints one moment that could transform Celtic’s season

Celtic have 11 matches remaining to try and force their way to the top of the Scottish Premiership in their quest to claim a third successive title.

At present, the Bhoys lie two points behind Rangers; however, they will be boosted by events over the weekend as they claimed a late 3-1 victory against Motherwell.

Republic of Ireland international Adam Idah has become a new-found hero at Parkhead. He furthered his growing reputation along the road at Fir Park, scoring a brace in front of the travelling support.

Before the referee sounded his whistle for the final time, Luis Palma stole in at the back post to make the scoreline more convincing, though Celtic could’ve had the game wrapped up earlier through numerous untaken opportunities.

Brendan Rodgers disclosed that his team talk at the interval had the desired outcome, stating post-match: “I said the players are halftime, ‘Listen, just relax, we just play our game, we just have to shorten the passes, connect the game. I thought in the second half, so much credit to the guys, I thought they were absolutely brilliant in the second half.”

Looking ahead, Dundee and Heart of Midlothian lay in wait for the Hoops in what promises to be a make-or-break week in their battle to unseat their rivals at the top of the pile.

Tam McManus delivers his verdict on Celtic’s title credentials

Pundit Tam McManus has criticised Celtic’s inability to kill matches off, which he believes will need to improve if Rodgers’ men are to win the league title.

Nevertheless, the ex-Hibernian striker has also added that the Bhoys could change ‘everything’ by picking up three points against Rangers at Ibrox on April 7th.

McManus stated [PLZ Soccer]: “Celtic are not putting teams to bed; that’ll come back and hurt them at some point. It didn’t yesterday, but it will at some point.

“They’ve got a tough game on Sunday away to Hearts that they’ve got to go and win as well. I think Celtic need to keep winning games; if they can go into the Old Firm game at Ibrox just the two points behind, then a win changes everything.”

“Celtic then go favourites, but they’ve got to try and get to that game because I don’t see Rangers dropping many points at the minute, so Celtic just need to stay in touch with them.”

Undoubtedly, Celtic face some stiff challenges ahead if they are to claw back the two-point deficit that is staring them in the face, though one result can completely flip the script in that respect.

Regardless, adopting a game-by-game approach will be the only mantra Rodgers is trying to put forward to his players, who need to dig deep and show the qualities of last campaign during the run-in.

Whether it be in the Glasgow Derby or elsewhere, the Bhoys have plenty of time to ensure they still have a successful 2023/24.
