With a resounding 86-35 victory over Wofford, Cooper Flagg and the Duke Blue Devils recovered from their most recent defeat at the hands of Kentucky. In just 28 minutes of play, Flagg recorded a rather modest stat line of nine points, eight rebounds, and six assists in the lopsided victory.

Flagg’s leadership during the victory was commended by Duke head coach Jon Scheyer, who also gave the superstar his flowers for playing team basketball instead of trying to score his individual baskets.

“This is a fantastic bounce-back game for us.”Scheyer stated. “I’m really pleased with how we coordinated the ball today. Sharing the ball, in my opinion, is a fantastic indication of how our guys will react on Tuesday night. Specifically, Cooper and Kon (Knueppel) did not score many points. One of those men could hunt in the second half with ease. They are simply making the proper plays, and I find it to be infectious.

Duke’s defensive effort against the Blue Devils created history.

By giving up the fewest points by an opponent in program history during the shot-clock era, Duke achieved a remarkable milestone with the Wofford destruction. Since 1968, the Blue Devils had not given up 35 points or less in a game.

Scheyer praised his players for their outstanding defense and attributed the performance to their competitive spirit.

“Wonderful of our group,” Scheyer remarked. “I’m proud of this group’s character. the need to be prepared and competitive to emerge immediately. To compete at a high level, not merely to play.

Flagg and his team will play the No. 17-ranked Arizona Wildcats in an attempt to continue the momentum.
