‘If you ask Tottenham fans’: Tim Sherwood makes Arsenal Premier League title claim
Tim Sherwood has said that Tottenham Hotspur fans would not want Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to win the Premer League title this season.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are aiming to win the Premier League title.
So, what has Tim Sherwood said about Tottenham Hotspur fans and Arsenal? Let’s take a look.
Tim Sherwood comments on Tottenham Hotspur fans and Arsenal
Well, Tim Sherwood has been speaking about the Premier League title race this season, and the Sky Sports pundit believes that Tottenham Hotspur will have a big say.
The former Tottenham manager has said that Spurs fans will want Liverpool or Manchester City to win the Premier League title this season and not bitter North London rivals Arsenal.
Liverpool are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 60 points from 26 matches, four points ahead of defending champions Manchester City, who have played 25 games.
Arsenal are third with 55 points from 25 games, while Tottenham are fifth with 47 points from 25 matches.
In the month of April, Tottenham, who want to sign Festy Ebosele, will take on City and Arsenal and then face Liverpool in May.
Sherwood said on Sky Sports News (12:25 pm, February 24, 2024): “Tottenham are going to have a massive say in it, they are going to play every side.
“If you ask Tottenham fans, who they would rather win the league out of the teams, it would be Man City or Liverpool.
“They will not want Arsenal to win the Premier League, and I think that they will have a say in all three games. They are going to be competitive. They could beat anyone on their day.”
My View: Liverpool and Manchester City ahead of Arsenal in Premier League title race
In my opinion, Liverpool and Manchester City are ahead of Arsenal in the race for the Premier League title this season.
Liverpool and City have experience in getting the job done. Arsenal failed in the final weeks of last season.
Moreover, Liverpool and City have two of the best and most potent goalscorers. Erling Haaland is a goal machine for the Citizens, while the Reds have a legend in Mohamed Salah.
True, Arsenal are very good defensively and hammered Burnley and West Ham United in recent weeks, but they do not have a clinical and world-class striker.
