Rangers has already put in a bid, so Clement might need to persuade the player to sign a loan agreement

Published

on

The Daily Record says Philippe Clement might have to persuade Gustavo Puerta, a midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen, to go on loan to Rangers.

The news outlet said on August 18 that Brondby had made a £3 million transfer offer, but the Bundesliga team may only want to borrow the player.

Reports from Tipsbladet on August 12 said that Gers have made an offer to sign the 21-year-old Colombian.

Hugo Puerta needs to come to Ibrox for the Rangers.

Puerta played a small role in a Bayer Leverkusen team that won the Bundesliga title. He could give the Gers a midfielder who has played in high-level games, which is important for their goals in both Germany and Europe.

His technical skills and ability to pass the ball to different players in the field suggest that he could become an important player in the middle of the field. This fits with the club’s need for a player who can control play from deep positions, a role that has been empty since Ryan Jack left.

Rangers could also save money by signing Puerta on loan, with or without the option to buy, so they can see how he fits in with the team before making a long-term commitment. This is especially smart given their limited budget.

This move not only fills the gap in the middle of the field right away, but it also gives the team a much-needed boost in the race for the title.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement replaced Michael Beale at Ibrox

It remains to be seen if Puerta wants to move to Ibrox and if Clement can persuade him to do so.

“It’s a joke,” Parlour says in response to Brazil’s outrage over Rangers’ progress this week

Alan Brazil has expressed his indignation over the most recent Rangers vs. Celtic development, in which away supporters are once again locked out of the Old Firm derby.

On Friday morning [16 August], Brazil addressed the subject in a live talkSPORT interview with Ray Parlour. They talked about Ipswich Town’s return to the Premier League and how important away fans are to the atmosphere.

The conversation swiftly shifted to the Old Firm controversy, about which Brazil had already voiced his opinions, after Celtic denied Rangers supporters access to the 2,500 seats they were allegedly promised at Parkhead for the season’s opening derby on September 1.

“Aren’t the away fans so important? Since it creates the mood,” Parlour remarked.

“Well, no Celtic or Rangers fans this year, I heard yesterday, it’s a joke,” Brazil retaliated.

Parlour said, “Yeah, it is a joke really because you have to have away fans, they can get the atmosphere.”

The Rangers and Celtics decision hurts the fans.

The pendulum has swung back when it seemed that progress was being made in permitting away fans to attend Old Firm matches.

Within two weeks, Celtic had made the decision to bar Gers supporters from Parkhead; in return, Rangers had moved swiftly to make plans for the return to Ibrox on January 2.

The spectators suffer the most, as the aura of a globally recognised derby completely diminishes in significance.

Rangers stadium Ibrox

Ibrox, home of Rangers

Safety concerns are open for discussion, but the SPFL cannot duck behind certification issues if the police have approved a safety regime for the game, as Simon Jordan made clear in a live talkSPORT interview on Thursday, August 15. This should not happen, and the league should deal with clubs accordingly.

The recent experience of having a 0% away allocation is demeaning to a historic derby from which any potential disorder will not be affected in any way by a strict safety plan to contain and segregate the two sets of supporters. This is evident in the slowly declining number of Light Blues faithful crammed into the away end at Parkhead.

Rangers supporters have already departed as Scott Allan asserts, “They want a change.” Clement should be fired

Though the Ibrox board has backed Philippe Clement, Scott Allan and Tam McManus say he may leave the Rangers sooner than anticipated.

In response to the contentious loss to Dynamo Kyiv on August 14, the pundits discussed the game on The Football Show for PLZ Soccer. Former Hibs striker McManus said that the manager’s recent contract extension was illogical given his current output and that supporters were already “scunnered” by the team.

Additionally, former Celtic midfielder Allan questioned if the Gers hierarchy would eventually decide to fire Clement in an effort to appease fans, given the large number of empty seats at Hampden the night before.

“I don’t think he’s going to get a much time as people think,” McManus stated after 12 minutes and 35 seconds. The board intends to support him financially for the remainder of the transfer window, but will Rangers fans be content if Celtic wins another triple crown? trailing Celtic by 15 points at the end?

Or, as they did last night, will they cast their ballots with their feet? I doubt that he will receive the time that the board seems to suggest he will.

“There will always be questions asked if you don’t have the performances on the pitch and the fans aren’t showing up,” Allan continued. Do you make an effort to win back your fans by asking them what they would like to see changed in the future? Because it appears that the Rangers’ season will be lengthy from this point on.

Jefte’s red card eliminated Rangers from the Champions League.

All of the Light Blues’ managers from recent memory have faced challenges, so they can all cite favourable circumstances.

With the Ibrox building-work fiasco and the difficulties in the transfer window making his job nearly impossible, Clement has it easier than most.

However, the Belgian’s own choices are also coming under fire. He has been criticised for his team choices, game tactics, and decision to freeze out players like Ianis Hagi [Sky Sports, August 12].

Derek Ferguson, an Ibrox News pundit, stated that he wouldn’t be shocked if the manager left on his own initiative if he saw a chance to take advantage of the alleged connections to the Belgium position [Daily Record, July 22].

Even though the board has acknowledged the harm that the hiring and firing cycle has caused in previous seasons, if things don’t get better, their strategy to weather the storm of a bad season without firing Clement [The Herald, July 27] will be put to the test.

On paper, they have good reason to strive for continuity because there isn’t a short-term solution to the current situation, and it can be argued that no one could fill Clement’s position at this time.

However, the manager’s wheels are starting to come off and doubts are being expressed after appearing to be such a strong appointment for the majority of the previous season.

Rangers: Huge Update on Lawrence Shankland Today

In the final weeks of the summer transfer window, Rangers may still try to resurrect a deal for Hearts’ talisman Lawrence Shankland, sources have told Football Insider.

The ship hasn’t yet set sail for Shankland, 29, according to sources, who wants to relocate to Ibrox before the deadline of August 30.

Rangers has had their eye on the Scotland international for some time and attempted to sign him during the January transfer window earlier this year.

Even though Shankland’s contract with Hearts is about to expire, the team is still pushing hard to acquire his services.

After loanees Fabio Silva and Abdallah Sima returned to their parent teams in the summer, sources say Rangers are still working hard to sign a new striker before the August 30 deadline.

Rangers may resurrect the Shankland contract if a £30 million boost is obtained.

Champions League qualification is thought to be crucial in enabling the Gers to make large purchases and sign a world-class forward in the closing minutes of the transfer window.

Last week (10 August), Football Insider was informed by Keith Wyness, the former head of Aberdeen, that Rangers would receive over £30 million if they are able to join Celtic in Europe’s top club competition.

To qualify for the competition, Philippe Clement’s team must first defeat Dynamo Kyiv at Hampden Park. Then, they will play either Salzburg or FC Twente in a two-leg match.

Shankland has made two appearances for Hearts in the 2024–25 season, but he has not yet scored.

In 47 games across all competitions last season, he scored 31 goals and dished out eight assists.

Keown calls a Rangers player who is a “irritant” at Ibrox “almost childish”

Outcast Rangers Gary Keown claims that Todd Cantwell is a “irritant” for Philippe Clement, as evidenced by his transfer requests.

Cantwell’s repeated transfer requests after kissing the Gers badge, according to Keown’s writing in the Scottish Mail on Sunday, August 11, page 82, demonstrate his “silly, almost childish” nature.

Given that Cantwell is currently very unpopular at Ibrox [Rangers Review, July 3], Keown also questioned whether or not Clement will have much flexibility in negotiating his eventual departure in light of those transfer requests.

Cantwell was kicked out after making a few transfer requests, so much for all that badge-kissing, eh? said Keown. only strengthens the idea that he’s a prickly individual who would make a Nurofen’s head hurt.

“Is that really someone you want to take a chance on as a manager looking for additions? A silly, almost childish character who doesn’t seem to be able to wind it in?”

Future uncertain following Rangers transfer requests for Todd Cantwell

It may not have been the best decision for Cantwell to make this summer to submit a request to leave a club where he is already severely out of favour; Keown’s assessment was spot on.

The best course of action for Cantwell to secure a transfer and help the Gers recoup their early 2023 expenditure of £1.5 million would be to put in a lot of training time and play his way back into the starting lineup at Ibrox.

Rather than being the centre of attention that other parties would need to notice him, Cantwell lingers in the club’s B team lineup after telling Clement earlier this summer that he intended to leave the team.

Cantwell, who has a contract with the Light Blues through 2026, needs to reach a mutual agreement with Clement if he wants to play for the Giants in the future rather than as one of their reserves [Sky Sports, July 29].

Cantwell’s clear sale to the Bears may have hurt their negotiating position, but for the time being, both the player and the manager will just be happy to get rid of each other.

Rangers player allegedly considers moving back as Galatasaray catches up to the X transfer storm

There is always a chance that Galatasaray will be linked to Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz.

The Turkish international may have signed a reported £5 million contract to move to Ibrox two years ago, leaving his home country behind.

However, reports linking the 23-year-old Rangers star to a return to the Super Lig continue unabated in Turkey.

Galatasaray even put the Rangers’ resolve to the test during the January transfer window by making multiple bids for Ridvan Yilmaz.

Now that the Rangers left-back is once more being linked to the Turks, Galatasaray finds themselves in the middle of a Premier League transfer whirlwind as their focus appears to be shifting elsewhere.

Galatasaray’s attempt to persuade Ridvan

This summer, Galatasaray is rumoured to be looking for a new left-back, and Ridvan Yilmaz is one player they may pursue.

The Turkish daily Fotomac claims that Gala is attempting to persuade the left-back to return to Turkey, as Ridvan is concerned about the possible backlash from Besiktas supporters.

The tweet from August 6th, when translated, says: “Beşiktaş youth academy graduate Ridvan Yilmaz is reluctant to accept Galatasaray’s offer because of the black and white fans’ reactions.

“The player is being tried to be convinced by Galatasaray management.”

Throughout the preseason, Ridvan Yilmaz was at the centre of Philippe Clement’s plans, and he started both of this season’s Ibrox side games.

The small left-back was on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes in both the 1-1 Champions League QR3 draw with Dynamo Kiev and the Scottish Premiership opener with Hearts.

Stormy Premier League left-back on X

Galatasaray has been connected to Ridvan, a star for the Rangers, but it seems like they have moved on to someone else.

Credible Journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu of Turkey tweeted that Galatasaray and Aston Villa had “reached an agreement” for the signing of French left-back Lucas Digne.

But Lucas Digne would spark a storm by claiming that the tweet was untrue.

Then, in a controversial move, Yagiz Sabuncuoglu responded by posting a photo of Galatasaray’s formal loan offer to Aston Villa for Lucas Digne’s services the following season.

Although the post demonstrates Sabuncuoglu’s extensive network within Turkish football circles, it does not substantiate Lucas Digne’s agreement with Galatasaray.

Actually, the letter only reveals that the Turkish powerhouses have made an offer for the left-back for Aston Villa.

While there appears to be no agreement on a deal at this time, the situation undoubtedly created a storm on X.

From a Rangers perspective, Galatasaray is still searching for a left back despite their connections to Ridvan Yilmaz.

Due to visa issues, Clement, a recent signing for Rangers, had to leave the UK

Rangers manager Philippe Clement stated that his new acquisition Robin Propper was unable to start the match against Dynamo Kiev due to visa issues.

Prior to the game, Clement stated that Propper had less time to get ready with his new teammates because he had to leave the UK quickly to pick up his visa so that paperwork could be processed.

Propper was not “fresh” enough to participate in the Champions League third-round qualifier against Dynamo, but he was still listed as one of the four new signings on the Gers bench.

The Rangers Review cited Clement as saying that it was a difficult choice to start without Robin Propper, primarily because he wasn’t fresh at the time.

“People are unaware that there is a lot of paperwork to be done when a player arrives in the UK.

“He wasn’t even fresh enough to start today because he had to travel outside the nation to return and get his visa.”

Robin Propper has not yet made his eagerly awaited Rangers debut.

Rarely can a Scottish Premiership team sign the captain of a team that placed third in the Eredivisie the previous season, but the Gers accomplished just that on August 1st when they signed Propper.

Considering that Connor Goldson, a highly skilled veteran defender, is leaving Ibrox, six-foot-three Propper’s signing could be a big improvement.

Philippe Clement

Philippe Clement will be hoping he can bring Robin Propper into his Rangers team as soon as possible

Though the 30-year-old hasn’t played in the first two games of the new season since signing, fans are eager to see him in a Light Blues uniform as soon as possible.

The Ibrox supporters are clamouring for Propper, or at least something different, especially after Ben Davies was completely lost in the Gers’ 0-0 draw with Hearts on the Premiership’s opening day.

Propper can quickly become familiar with Clement’s squad and playing style now that his visa issues should be resolved. Once he secures a spot on the team, don’t expect him to relinquish it easily.

Rangers look to sell Dessers as links to £5 million+ replacement grow in last 36 hours – report

Rangers will look to offload Cyriel Dessers if they want to sign Albion Rrahmani before the transfer deadline, according to Gary Morris of The Fourth Official.

The outlet’s YouTube bulletin host stated on August 5th that links to the Kosovan striker “aren’t going away” and had been particularly strong over the previous 48 hours.

On July 29, Romanian journalist Sorin Chiriac reported on Instagram that Rapid Bucharest is expected to make a new bid for Rrahmani, asking for €6 million [£5.05 million] plus a sell-on fee.

Morris pointed out: “It’s my understanding that for that to happen Rangers would be looking to try to move on a striker, probably Cyriel Dessers who didn’t have his best game in Edinburgh at the weekend.”

Philippe Clement wants a Rapid Bucharest striker at Rangers.

Rrahmani and Lawrence Shankland are probably the two names most strongly linked with a Light Blues move this summer.

The pursuit of the Kosovan has been reported for weeks during the window, prompting Clement to reconsider [Daily Record, 29 July].

Football Scotland reported that the Light Blues were close to signing him as early as June 17th.

The Ibrox manager and senior figures at the club are said to have reservations about Shankland’s ability to press from the front [Rangers Review, 24 July], so it wouldn’t be surprising if his first choice was a target he believed could do so.

Philippe Clement

Rangers manager Philippe Clement is tipped to push for one-in one-out at striker

Dessers scored 22 goals last season and is likely to do so again this year if he remains first choice, but Clement likely needs someone to score 35 to 40 goals from the same number of opportunities as his number one.

Due to injury, the Belgian has only seen a fraction of what Danilo has to offer, and the Brazilian would be more difficult to sell for the right price after missing half of the season.

If another forward leaves, it will have to be Dessers, as Sam Lammers has joined FC Twente and Kemar Roofe’s contract has expired.

The Nigerian has been linked with widespread interest this summer [Rangers Review, 3 July], but a move has yet to materialise. A significant change in pace is required to get him out and the cash turned around to land Rrahmani.

BBC Sport scene to the situation with Danilo, a celebrity pundit thinks Rangers should sign a new centre forward

Neil McCann thinks Rangers will get a new striker, which means Danilo might not be ready to play.

The Gers’ first game in the Scottish Premiership was a 0-0 draw with Hearts. Cyriel Dessers started up front for the Gers.

Following his failure to score, Steven Thompson asked on BBC Sportscene (3 August) if it was a surprise to see the Nigerian start.

He asked, “Do you think Rangers fans will be shocked if he starts the season as the main striker?”

He replied, “I think they’ll look for someone else to take over because I don’t think Danilo is ready.”

Rangers could take the place of Danilo.

There wasn’t much the Gers could do to beat Hearts. Dessers had several clear-cut chances to score but didn’t.

The top scorer at Ibrox last season did hit the post from close range, but he should have done better with the chances that came his way.

Philippe Clement may have been surprised that he didn’t choose to replace the 29-year-old with Danilo later in the game.

After getting hurt last season and missing the whole season, the Brazilian may be getting some rest before being thrown back into the spotlight.

That being said, the Light Blues can’t take any prisoners this season if they want to close the gap on Celtic in the race for the title.

Cyriel Dessers could leave Rangers this summer

Looking to bring in a striker like Lawrence Shankland who is already good could be a smart move if Danilo is not ready.

Once more, Dessers needs to step up and try to get back to the form he had in his first season in Scotland.

Celtic to hijack Rangers move for Shankland

HITC reports that Celtic are considering going after Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland instead of Adam Idah by taking advantage of Rangers’ move for him.

It has been said that the 28-year-old forward could move to Ibrox all summer. The defending SPFL champions want to bring Norwich striker Idah back to the club permanently after a successful loan spell in the second half of last season.

But because talks about a deal for the Irish striker broke down, Celtic’s leaders are now looking at other options. Shankland is at the top of the list.

Celtic is going to steal Shankland from Rangers.

Hearts need more than £3 million to let him go.

Norwich turned down a £4 million offer from Celtic earlier in the transfer window for Idah. They wanted almost twice that amount to make the deal permanent.

The Republic of Ireland international is being looked at by new Norwich manager Johannes Hoff Thorup during pre-season. Celtic have been told they have to wait to hear if a deal is possible.

The new season of the Scottish Premiership starts this weekend, so club officials are looking at other options for the striker spot. As a result, they are “stepping up their pursuit” of Hearts captain Shankland.

Shankland, who Michael Stewart has called “absolutely sensational,” is in the last year of his contract at Tynecastle and is free to move to either of the Old Firm clubs. He turned down an offer to extend his deal with Hearts earlier this year.

Hearts are thought to want more than £3 million to let the 28-year-old Scotland star leave the club. However, he is likely to cost less than Idah, which should make it easier for Celtic to make a deal.

Rangers are thought to be the frontrunners to sign him right now, but Celtic have now gotten in touch and could take over the deal if they can’t quickly come to an agreement for Idah.

A very important fact about sports is that Lawrence Shankland has scored 48 league goals in the last two seasons, more than anyone else in Scotland.

Celts want to get things done quickly.

Brendan Rodgers has already said something.

Season 1 of the Scottish Premiership has already begun, and Celtic have only added Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo to their first team so far.

Paulo Bernardo has agreed to join permanently from Benfica after a successful loan spell last season. Brendan Rodgers also wants to sign Dara O’Shea, a defender from Burnley, Michel-Ange Balikwisha, a winger from Royal Antwerp, and Hugo Bueno, a defender from Wolves.

All of the numbers come from FBRef.

Report talks about when Cerny might make his Rangers debut before the game against Hearts

Chris Jack says that Vaclav Cerny will be with the group at Tynecastle, so he could make his Rangers debut against Hearts.

A reporter for The Rangers Review said on Sunday (28 July) that the new player for the Light Blues couldn’t play in the pre-season game against Union Berlin because the Gers are still waiting for international clearance.

Cerny is on loan from Wolfsburg to Philippe Clement’s team for the season [inFotblal.cz, July 25]. Reports say it is just a loan, with neither team having to nor being able to make the stay permanent.

Rangers’ Premiership season starts on Saturday, August 3, when they go to Tynecastle to play Celtic. Clement is trying to beat Celtic to the league title.

When could Vaclav Cerny’s first game with the Rangers happen?

We don’t know if Clement will put Cerny right into the starting lineup for the first game of the season against Hearts, but it’s good that Rangers can use their newest player from the first week of the season.

After a full pre-season under the Belgian’s watch, most fans would have liked to see the Light Blues make more signings earlier in the summer. That way, the new players could have been ready to go right away.

Philippe Clement

Rangers manager Philippe Clement

Many things, though, have made that almost impossible for the Gers, especially since they need to sell some players before adding any more to the first team in the next few weeks.

Clement’s team might not have enough players for the start of the new season because some players could still leave before the Premiership season starts.

It doesn’t look like either Hamza Igamane or Clinton Nsiala will be able to surprise everyone by starting in Edinburgh, so hopefully Cerny will be able to play in some way at Tynecastle.

Lyndon Dykes transfer to Rangers update

The loan deals for Abdallah Sima and Fabio Silva ended, and Kemar Roofe was released at the end of his contract. The Light Blues want to add more attackers before the new season.

Rangers has been linked with a move for Hearts star Lawrence Shankland over the last two transfer windows. However, QPR star Dykes, who scored seven goals in 42 Championship games last season and was called “fantastic” by former Rangers manager Gareth Ainsworth, has now also become a target.

Philippe Clement needs more attackers.

The Ibrox exit for Sam Lammers is set.

A lot of players have come and gone from Ibrox this summer. Six new first-team players have been confirmed and six players have left.

There are likely to be more changes in the attacking department in the coming weeks as well. Striker Sam Lammers is said to be “one step away” from returning to the Eredivisie with FC Twente.

Ianis Hagi is also likely to leave the club this summer, as he is in the last year of his contract. Scott Wright, on the other hand, is rumoured to be going to the English Championship.

Vasa Cerny, a winger for Wolfsburg, has signed a loan deal for the season, and Oscar Cortes’ loan deal has been extended for another year to give Clement more options in attack.

A report from HITC says that deals for Shankland or Dykes “will not be cheap” and that the future of striker Cyriel Dessers is also uncertain. The manager has confirmed that Rangers need to sell to buy this summer.

GIVEMESPORT Key Fact: Cyriel Dessers scored 21 more goals for Rangers in 2023–24 than Lyndon Dykes scored in the two previous seasons put together.

Todd Cantwell sends in a transfer request for the Rangers.

Clement says the midfielder will be leaving.

Clement also confirmed that playmaker Todd Cantwell has asked to leave the club and turned in a transfer request. This is a shocking change to Glasgow’s plans for the coming season.

Cantwell joined the club after being kicked out of Norwich. He became a fan favourite at Ibrox, but his antics often got him in trouble online, starting a fight with Chris Sutton, a Celtic legend and football commentator.

But the 26-year-old Englishman is now set to leave, even though Clement wanted to keep him on the team. Any deal for the Englishman to leave could help pay for a replacement and a new striker.

Manager confirmed that a “concrete bid” from Aris Limassol had been accepted, and Connor Goldson is also about to leave. He has travelled to talk to them about the move.

Rangers to sign Championship striker – report

HITC reports that Rangers wants to sign Lyndon Dykes from QPR as a striker along with Lawrence Shankland.

The online source said on July 25 that the club is keeping a close eye on the two Scottish players this summer because they want to add another striker to their team.

Daily Mail [19 June 2023] says that the Light Blues were interested in the QPR star last summer. Hearts’ Shankland has also been linked for several transfer windows.

Rangers want to sign Lyndon Dykes, a 36-time Scotland international.

Because Cyriel Dessers is having trouble scoring goals and Danilo is having health problems, Philippe Clement might want to bring in another striker this summer.

People thought the former forward might leave Scotland, but he recently said things that make it sound like he’s ready to stay and fight for his spot after scoring 22 goals in his first season [Ziggo Sport].

While Danilo is still getting better with the medical staff, he is a much-loved figure at Ibrox and has been sorely missed. His return is now eagerly anticipated.

Shankland is in the last year of his contract and has scored an unbelievable number of goals in the Scottish Premiership. He seems like the obvious person to bring in, but there hasn’t been much movement.

The 28-year-old striker is still being linked to the Gers, but the transfer hasn’t moved forward much, even though most Ibrox fans want the deal to go through.

Philippe Clement

Philippe Clement could add another striker to his ranks

Dykes has played in Scotland before, so he could be an alternative for Clement this summer. He also brings a lot of experience from playing in the Championship for four years.

During his time with QPR, the 28-year-old has scored 36 goals and set up 12 others. He could be a much better target man in the attacking third than Dessers is now.

Medical done: Player wants Rangers signing

Denik Sport reports that Wolfsburg star Vaclav Cerny has decided to join Rangers on loan for the season.

The Czech news outlet said through X on July 25 that Cerny had already finished his medical with the club and would be joining soon.

Along with that, the report says that the Czech winger had a lot of choices but ultimately chose to go to Rangers.

Varsh Cerny is a great addition to the Rangers.

There have already been a lot of changes at Rangers during the summer transfer window. They are having a good month as they try to improve their team for a new title run.

The fact that most of the players who have come in are young shows that Philippe Clement has had a clear list of targets in mind since the beginning of the window.

The club has added players like Connor Barron and Jefte to replace John Lundtrsam and Borna Barisic.

And it makes a lot of sense to move for the 26-year-old after hearing from the Gers that Todd Cantwell has officially asked to be transferred [MailOnline, July 24].

Rangers look set to sign Wolfsburg ace Vaclav Cerny

Because he has been hurt a lot in the past, Cerny will be looking to do well and make up for lost time in Glasgow.

A lot of Rangers fans probably haven’t heard of this player, but the extra help in attack will be very helpful for the team this season.

Rangers to seal new signing

Rangers are close to signing Vaclav Cerny on loan, according to Florian Plettenberg.

According to X (24 July), Cerny’s loan move to Ibrox is “advanced”.

The winger from VfL Wolfsburg is set to join Glasgow.

Cerny’s contract with the Bundesliga club runs until June 2027.

Rangers are close to signing Vaclav Cerny on loan from VfL Wolfsburg.

This will be a fantastic update for Ibrox fans.

The club sorely needs new offensive additions. As a result, Cerny’s followers will most certainly welcome him with open arms. While he is not the much-needed number nine, he is a nice addition to a key section of the pitch.

This is a player with a wealth of experience at the greatest level, and Philippe Clement will be hoping that he can use it to motivate his teammates to defeat Celtic next season.

The club will undoubtedly undergo significant changes this summer. Many players might yet leave Ibrox, necessitating the addition of new players.

Cerny will seek to demonstrate the talent he has shown throughout his career if his projected move to Rangers goes smoothly.

And supporters will undoubtedly be interested to see what he can achieve.

‘He will be a loss’: Philippe Clement to keep ‘Rangers Harry Kane’

Rangers boss Philippe Clement will be under a lot of stress as the new season starts.

Rangers will be kicking themselves because they missed a lot of chances to score when Celtic was down last season.

In the end, Brendan Rodgers won the title for Celtic. Things got even worse for Clement when Rangers lost the Scottish Cup final to Celtic.

Because of this, the futures of a number of famous players are uncertain. The Gers will play their first home games at Hampden because work at Ibrox is behind schedule.

However, who will play for Rangers when they start the Premiership season on August 3 at Hearts?

According to sources, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who used to be the manager of the Rangers, wants to sign James Tavernier.

Fans have different feelings about the 32-year-old. Some want him to leave so that the team can start over after several years of bad play.

But Gordon Dalziel told Clyde 1 that Clement and his team need to “keep Tavernier” and that he would be “a loss” if he left.

He also stood up for the set-piece expert when a fan called him “the Harry Kane of Rangers” and said he had been at the club for “too long.”

It was James Tavernier who called him “the Harry Kane of Rangers.”

“If I were in charge of Rangers, I would do everything I could to keep Tavernier,” Dalziel said.

“His numbers keep going down.” He’s very important. He always shows up to games and adds a lot to set plays. I believe Tavernier will be a loss. There are some Rangers fans who don’t agree with that, but I think he will be missed.

A Rangers fan then told Dalziel that Tavernier was the “Harry Kane of Rangers” because he had been with the team for too long. The fan also said that Tavernier “wants to take the throw-ins, penalties, free kicks, defend, as well as charge forward and stifle the players who are playing.”

“If you are a centre forward and Tavernier is going down the right side and putting in some good balls, then you have a better chance of scoring as well,” Dalziel replied.

“As I already said, I would have a mixed opinion with Tavernier.” I think he brings a lot to Rangers with everything he makes, though. He likes to be a part of everything, that’s true, but I still think Tavernier has a lot to give.

Celtic is going to beat the title easily.

The Rangers need to get their act together, get rid of the bad players and bring in the good ones. If they don’t, they will end another season without the title.

When Rodgers came back, Celtic had some problems, but he still won the title.

Plus, the best player in Scotland, Matt O’Riley, is still at the club.Celtic has asked Dalziel to agree to a move for O’Riley.

If the player stays on board, the Bhoys have a better chance of not only winning the tile, but maybe even winning it easily.

Yorkshire club and senior Rangers player’s agent are in “provisional talks,” according to the report

Ahead of a possible transfer, Sheffield Wednesday has reportedly started discussions with Rangers winger Scott Wright’s representation, according TEAMtalk.

The news website [22 July] reported that while the EFL Championship side has not yet made an official approach, they have expressed early interest and had preliminary talks with Wright’s representatives.

Wright might soon be added to the list of departing players, as Nils Koppen, Philippe Clement, and the Gers’ backroom crew try to put together a team capable of regaining Scottish supremacy.

Wright might leave Rangers for England.

The Sun reported on July 7th that Danny Rohl’s team may try to bring Rangers star Wright to South Yorkshire, suggesting that Sheffield Wednesday is gradually becoming more interested in the player.

Wright, who played just over 700 minutes in the Scottish Premiership last season and scored just twice off the bench in a 5-2 victory over old team Dundee, is expected to depart Ibrox this summer.

Before the 2024–25 season begins at Hearts on August 3, Wright, senior leaders James Tavernier and Connor Goldson, and themselves may leave Glasgow. If negotiations continue, a bid for the 26-year-old is anticipated on Wednesday [TEAMtalk, 19 July].

Scott Wright

Scott Wright has not had a consistent run of late for Rangers

The youngster, who came to Rangers in 2021 from Aberdeen, looks to be in need of a new beginning at this crucial juncture in his career, since he hasn’t been awarded a full Scotland cap despite making appearances for his country at the Under-21 level.

Wright’s current contract only has a year left on it, so the Light Blues might be keen to part ways this summer in order to recover at least a small sum of money.

When asked if Rangers had launched a £7 million proposal for his player, a Manchester United veteran responded in disbelief

Morgan Whittaker’s name will be all too known to Rangers fans.

In January 2023, Rangers were involved in a public pursuit of Swansea City forward Michael Beale.

Rangers’ interest in Whittaker was evident from the start, despite disagreements over the amounts involved in their proposal.

After being recalled from Plymouth, Swansea manager Russell Martin apologised to Rangers fans for the entire situation.

Morgan Whittaker relocated to Plymouth permanently the following summer and recently completed a successful season in the English Championship.

Rangers’ interest appears to have been reignited as a result of Whittaker’s 19 goals in the English second tier.

Wayne Rooney knows nothing about it.

Rangers want Whittaker.

Plymouth have appointed English football star Wayne Rooney as manager for the upcoming season.

Last season, the Pilgrims kept their English Championship status, thanks in large part to Morgan Whittaker’s goalscoring exploits, and Manchester United veteran Rooney is determined to keep the striker.

Rooney has previously expressed his admiration for Whittaker, and he did so again as news of Rangers’ interest surfaced over the weekend.

Rangers rekindled their interest in Whittaker, according to the Daily Record, prior to their 2-0 friendly defeat to Manchester United.

According to the source, Rangers received an initial bid worth more than £7 million, including add-ons, from Plymouth this summer.

Rooney is unaware of Rangers’ interest.

Following Plymouth’s 5-1 pre-season win against Cheltenham Town, Rooney was asked about Whittaker’s potential transfer to Glasgow.

Whittaker and former Rangers striker Ryan Hardie both scored in the blowout, and Wayne Rooney was pressed about the 23-year-old winger’s predicament.

But the England legend was perplexed by the Rangers connection, admitting that the line of questioning was the first he’d heard about it.

The Manchester United legend reportedly warned Rangers that Plymouth would not trade Whittaker unless it was for ‘crazy’ money.

When asked about the Gers’ relationship with Whittaker, Rooney stated, “It’s the first I know,” according to Plymouth Live.

“I’ve said it before: Morgan is an excellent player, and I’m really enjoying working with him. Morgan is really valuable to us. Anything other than an insane bid will not be entertaining.

“Ultimately I want Morgan to stay at the football club because he’s a very good player and he’s the player who can make a difference.”

Rangers fans are disappointed with the paucity of transfer activity this summer, particularly in the final third, which requires reinforcements for the upcoming season.

The alleged interest in Abdallah Sima, a Brighton winger who is currently judged too pricey by the Ibrox club, has been questioned alongside the links to Morgan Whittaker.

Tyrese Campbell to Rangers transfer link resurfaces, with striker available for free

Tyrese Campbell, a striker, is reportedly back on Rangers’ transfer radar after rejecting a move to Ibrox four years ago.

The former Stoke City forward is reportedly contemplating his options this summer, with Rangers a possible suitor.

Rangers expressed interest in the 24-year-old, who is the son of Premier League icon Kevin Campbell, in 2020, when Steven Gerrard was considering a pre-contract deal.

Celtic were also rumoured to be interested in Campbell at the time, but the player chose to stay in England and turned down both Glasgow clubs to stay at Stoke.

Campbell is now looking for a new club after his contract with the Potters expired.

According to the Daily Mail, Rangers are one of several clubs interested in signing the striker this summer.

Sheffield United, West Brom, QPR, Preston North End, and Cardiff are all believed to be interested in the youngster.

The former England youth international made 164 appearances for Stoke City, scoring 36 goals and providing 21 assists.

Rangers will need to sell players to fund new signings, according to Philippe Clement.

“That’s the reality,” Clement answers when asked if his transfer intentions are contingent on players departing this summer. “That’s the fact that the board told me a few months back.

“I’m aware of this, and so is the recruitment staff. This is the reality of the club. I had different expectations when I arrived in October.

“But I know the truth now. I am highly motivated to create the club and contribute to it. It is focusing on both the short and long term.

Rangers to sign English striker

According to the Daily Mail, Rangers intend to sign free agent striker Tyrese Campbell this summer to strengthen their attacking lineup.

According to the news outlet’s website (18 July), the striker is pondering what to do next in his career after leaving Stoke when his contract expired at the end of last season.

The Ibrox club wants to add to their assault this summer, but they will face competition from Championship clubs such as West Brom, QPR, and Sheffield United to recruit him.

Rangers want to sign. Tyrese Campbell

The attack is an area of the Ibrox squad that desperately needs fresh players this summer, and Philippe Clement is well aware of this.

Clement has “been in touch” with Abdallah Sima regarding a permanent agreement, but it is not currently conceivable (Rangers Review, 15 July). Hamza Igamane has already joined but is not anticipated to start immediately.

With Sam Lammers’ future uncertain, Kemar Roofe leaving, and the club considering bids for Todd Cantwell [The Sun, 20 June], further acquisitions are anticipated.

Philippe Clement

Philippe Clement is entering his first full season as Rangers manager

Campbell has played at a high level since coming through the Manchester City academy, and his current form has helped Stoke stay in the Championship, and at 24, he still has lots of room for improvement.

It’s a low-risk signing, but Campbell is a guy who could come into Ibrox and improve the squad’s depth and quality, so it would be a wise decision given the club’s current financial situation.

Rangers zero in to sign Joan Jordan despite player being handed punishment

Estadio Deportivo claims that Sevilla manager Garica Pimienta has given Joan Jordan a “punishment” and does not want to use him once more among links to Rangers.

Pimienta leaving the 30-year-old out of the pre-season game against Orlando Pirates was reported on July 16 by the Spanish news outlet as sending the midfielder a warning that he would not be playing a single minute for the team.

Gers made an offer to sign him on loan, but it was turned down since they only covered thirty percent of his pay. [13 July, Maximo de la Cruz Ramirez]

Rangers have to table Joan Jordan a permanent transfer proposal.

Given Sevilla’s position of wanting Jordan gone for good, Gers should think about bidding permanently for him.

Pimienta’s choice to drop from a pre-season game the 30-year-old and his warning that the midfielder won’t play one minute for the team point to a tense relationship.

For Gers, this could be advantageous since Sevilla might be more ready to accept a lower fee permanent transfer offer to fix the problem.

Gers could then guarantee Jordan’s services free from the complexity of a loan agreement, including the wage percentage problem that resulted in the rejection of their first loan offer.

Rangers might be able to guarantee Jordan’s whole dedication to the team and negotiate a more equitable pay scale by paying a respectable transfer fee.

Rangers Philippe Clement

Philippe Clement might need to identify new transfer targets at Rangers

Moreover, signing Jordan permanently would provide Philippe Clement a quality midfielder who can contribute now and for the next few years as well.

After the winger deal, Koppen may have more opportunities thanks to the Gers’ unique transfer “relationship”

There has been a refreshingly new attitude to the Rangers transfer market, with names from all over the world being mooted as potential targets.

Philippe Clement has also discussed Nils Koppen’s new hiring strategy, and the management is expecting to sign more players like Mohamed Diomande.

Oscar Cortes, a 20-year-old Colombian who made an impression during his early appearances before an injury terminated his season with the Rangers, is one “new” addition who will be a welcome sight once he is completely up to speed.

Oscar Cortes’ move to the Rangers may only be the beginning.

Cortes was a star of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup just last summer, and he has now been confirmed as a permanent deal, albeit with a one-year loan first.

Given that Koppen now frequently attends the TransferRoom briefings, it has been explained how the Rangers were able to sign such a gifted young player.

Agents and club representatives gather at these events to talk about potential players and possible deal structures.

Tomas Sarmiento, an agent for Cortes, gave TransferRoom an explanation of why the platform is so crucial for hiring managers.

Many individuals, I would say, are hesitant to bring Latin American players to the European market because they haven’t been proven at what you would consider to be the upper echelons of the game.

Through these portals, we are able to speak with those in positions of authority and discuss in greater depth any uncertainties they may have and how best to address them.

“TransferRoom gave us the ability to set up meetings, exchanges, and all of this.

Oscar Cortes will stay with the Rangers after a good agreement was reached. It’s a club that has done a great deal to help him grow and adjust to life in Europe.

“I believe he’s headed in the right direction, and hopefully, with all the support TransferRoom offered, we can build on this relationship and open up new markets.”

The Rangers’ partnership with the Cortes agency may be beneficial.

It can only be advantageous to have a positive working connection with a company such as Top Athlete Management.

A player trade model that works must capture players before they make their “big” move.

For Rangers, South America is a mostly unexplored market that may also be inexpensive if players are acquired at the appropriate time.

Oscar Cortes has only showed hints of his potential thus far, so supporters will be eager to see what he can do now that he has completed the preseason and is healthy. At £4 million, he will be expected to deliver.

When TransferRoom hosts another event in a few weeks, hopefully Koppen will find someone similar for the other wing.

Based on latest Rangers’ update, Copa America standout gets nearer to summer transfer

Among the players connected to Rangers from Latin America recently is Thomas Galdames.

Following the breakdown of the Jose Cordoba deal, 25-year-old Chileno defender from Ibrox was highlighted as a transfer target for initially unidentified Belgian teams.

In recent seasons, there has been an effort to develop the athletic 6ft Chilean into an aggressive left-back alternative; he is a natural center-back.

As Thomas Galdames gets ready to depart Godoy Cruz, there is a lot of gossip about him.

Following Chile’s exit from the Copa America, Galdames is prepared to make his next decision after the conversation about the player’s future stopped by the tournament.

Now a Belgian newspaper has been offering an update on Ranger’s interest in the defender and what is most likely to happen next.

Galdames closing in on a move.

Back in June, it was reported that Royal Antwerp, a Belgian team, is closely monitoring Thomas Galdames this summer.

According to the research, Rangers and the Pro League team were scheduled to fight for the defender’s signature in this transfer season.

Voetbal Nieuws have been offering a fresh report on the linkages, and shockingly, it seems that Royal Antwerp, not Rangers, is the destination, which is edging closer.

After negotiating a contract for Argentine left-sided Independiente defender Ayrton Costa, Antwerp is now said to be closing in on a double South American swoop.

With the Great Old looking to improve the left-back area of their team ahead of the new season, the circumstances involving Chilean center-back Thomas Galdames is a little more complicated.

Rangers’ interest in Galdames allegedly “cooled” with Antwerp in pole position to seize “advantage” from the circumstances.

Voetbal Nieuws estimates a deal to bring Galdames to Belgium is currently very much in the “pipeline,” even with Rangers perhaps absent from the scene.

Summer of left-back instability for Rangers

Although Thomas Galdames has a good profile, Rangers already want to have moved elsewhere.

After Borna Barisic left for Trabzonspor, the club brought Brazilian left-back Jefte to their ranks this summer.

Turkish variantRidvan Yilmaz is also expected to remain at Rangers next season despite connections to recently promoted Bundesliga team St Pauli.

Along with the defender enticed to move from AC Milan with the lure of first-team play, Rangers have included gifted left-sided centre-back Clinton Nsiala, 20, to their roster.

Another choice in the post and on a reasonable salary is Ben Davies, who has clearly been advised to leave the club.

Rangers are therefore at least well-stocked on the left-side of defence, and Thomas Galdames would have fierce competition to break through into the lineup.

Simultaneously, perhaps the club would rue a missed opportunity to acquire the Chilean if the defender moves to Antwerp and Rangers experiences more turbulence in this area of the team.

Rangers are in the middle of a power struggle, as Hotline punters can tell. Bennett and Clement have different ideas about one thing

Anthony Evans took your calls while some Hotline bettors were happy about England’s painful loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

Even though Scotland’s Euro 2024 bid didn’t go as planned, a lot of people in the country were in the mood to party on Sunday night after seeing England lose again on the big stage.

Spain beat England 2-1, which was a fair result. Mikel Oyarzabal scored the game-winning goal four minutes from time, after Cole Palmer had cancelled out Nico Williams’ opening goal. It was England’s second straight loss in a European Championship final under Gareth Southgate, and people on the hotline wanted to pick on the unhappy team.

Someone from Rothesay named Jim McClean said, “It’s coming home. Sorry, England is coming home.” They got what they earned for how they played defence, thank God, Sir Gareth Southgate.Someone in London named Alfie Mullin agreed and said, “Well done, Spain.” “Hopefully that will shut up the cocky England fans until at least the next tournament,” said Wullie Graham from Bristol. “England’s cocky arrogance comes back to bite them once more,” he added. They still have tears on their faces from sadness, but Messrs. Lineker and Shearer are telling us they will win the next World Cup.

“Their problem is that they have good players but not a good team.” Spain deserved to win because they were so fun to watch the whole time. It would have been over before halftime for Spain if Pedri and Gavi had been available.

But some people who called the Hotline were surprised by how happy Scotland was about what happened in Berlin. In Newtonhill, Gary Stevenson said, “To all the Scots who tried to ruin the Euros Final, how embarrassing! Some of you even refused to watch it.” What do you think? Will they keep that ban in place and not watch the English Premiership? People thought Scotland was the worst team in the competition, which was an embarrassment. Be polite and don’t make them feel even worse by being rude.

The people of Scotland have kids who wear Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester United, and Manchester City shirts. I don’t get why the so-called Scotland fans hate everything English. They can’t wait for the next Super Sunday to watch the English Premier League. I could be wrong, and thousands of Scots will cancel their contracts. England and then going home to watch them every week! That’s so embarrassing.”

On Sunday, however, Scotland had a real reason to celebrate: Bob MacIntyre, a golfer from Oban, beat Adam Scott to win the Scottish Open with a stunning showing in North Berwick. For some Hotline callers, this was the perfect end to a dream weekend.

While William Hutchison in Aberdeen said, “Seems England have a different view of ‘IT’S COMING HOME’….WELL DONE TO SCOTS (YUP SCOTS) Bob MacIntyre for lifting the golf tournament trophy at TROON…” Scott Gowers in Edinburgh said, “Congratulations to Spain (Euro’s) and Robert McIntyre (Scottish Open) for their well-deserved wins over the weekend.”

Bob MacIntyre holds aloft the trophy

People were also talking about the ongoing mess at Rangers over the availability of Ibrox. One fan demanded that the club be put up for sale right away.Stephen Johnstone of Ardentinny said, “The mess at Ibrox Stadium: players’ contracts are being looked at, the board is split up, and the manager is going on and on.” Now that this government is in charge, is it time to sell the whole club before the bailiffs show up? It was thrown to the ground. Sir John Lawrence would be very angry.

Northampton’s Michael Emonds has also doubts about Philippe Clement’s claim that every player will be sold for the right price as Gers manager. “Could there be a power struggle at Ibrox?” he asked. Big Phil says that every player has a price, and he thinks that custodian Jack Butland is worth £30 million.

“I wonder what chairman John Bennett would do if, say, a £10 million offer came in for Butland. Could we see the chairman going against the group?” I believe Big Phil’s comments about the goalie and the broken vows he made in his job interview about having money to buy players are the first steps of him “working his ticket.”

But Fraserburgh’s Andrew Lamb then pushed back against the bad press about the Belgian boss. He said, “I’m disappointed by all the bad news about Rangers, but it’s all coming from spoiled brats who are so negative.” We won’t be able to judge Clement until after at least a full season.

Rangers to accepts £2m offer – Ibrox Sources

Sam Lammers “doesn’t figure” in the upcoming season’s plans for the Rangers.

Pete O’Rourke, a senior writer for Football Insider, expressed this opinion regarding Lammers’ future at Ibrox Stadium in an interview with the podcast Inside Track.

The 27-year-old was cut by Philippe Clement during the preseason and was sent to the Rangers B club this summer.

It’s an indication of the manager of the Gers’ perspective on the forward, leaving him uncertain about his future in the game.

Although a permanent agreement between the two clubs could not be reached, Lammers spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Utrecht.

The Scottish team is now hoping to make money off of the Dutch forward this summer as Clement has decided not to keep him in the lineup going forward.

Rangers will likely incur losses due to Sam Lammers.

Rangers paid £3.5 million to acquire Lammers from Atalanta at first, but sources claim they won’t recoup their investment.

Rather, the Gers will cut Lammers loose from the books this summer for a cost of £2 million.

The attacker demonstrated his abilities last season while playing for Utrecht, tallying 10 goals and dishing out three assists.

After those Eredivisie performances, sources say Holland would be interested in him, but the player’s future is still unknown.

But with everything going on at Ibrox Stadium, these are equally unsettling times for Rangers as a team.

According to Football Insider, the Gers will now open the season at Hampden Park because their home pitch is still under construction after delays in shipments.

Chris Jack provides an update on Diomande’s injury, following Rangers’ preseason matchup with Standard Liege

Chris Jack reports that Mohamed Diomande, a midfielder for Rangers, is “fine” and has resumed training despite initial concerns that he may have injured himself.

On Wednesday, July 10, the 22-year-old played the first half of the Light Blues’ preseason match against Standard Liege. After going down, he received some treatment, which raised some eyebrows.

Jack, a journalist for Rangers Review, is adamant that the midfield player is injury-free and that he was able to go through the rehabilitation process and do interviews without any more problems.

On July 11, at 19:30, he made the following statement on The Rangers Review YouTube channel: “The only injury doubt or concern, I spoke to Joshua about yesterday, was Mohamed Diomande.”

“I brought up the fact that he left the game and was able to walk back to the dressing room after receiving some treatment late in the first half.

He appeared fine when he chatted with a few members of the press earlier for an interview that would be released during the upcoming games. Thankfully, there aren’t any major worries there as he trained and completed the recovery session earlier.

Do Rangers have any plans to make any additions during the summer transfer window?

The fact that one of their more recent arrivals won’t be missing a significant portion of preseason due to injury is at least encouraging news, even though supporters will be unhappy by the dearth of transfer activity surrounding Ibrox at this time.

Diomande made an impression on both fans and analysts during the previous season after moving to Glasgow in January, and now that he has decided to make Scotland his permanent home, there will be expectations that he can continue to improve and achieve new heights.

The 23-year-old will need to play a lot of football over the coming months because only Connor Barron has arrived as a replacement in midfield after the departures of Ryan Jack and John Lundstram were confirmed earlier this summer.

With any luck, he can avoid injuries and build on his strong start to the previous campaign to truly take off under Philippe Clement.

Still, he and the supporters will be hoping the Gers add one or two more players to help him.

Kieran Dowell lets out his fury with the Rangers as the midfielder gives a brutally honest assessment of his first Ibrox season

After moving to Govan last summer, Dowell had an injury-plagued campaign and found it difficult to give the Ibrox supporters his all.

The first to acknowledge that the Ibrox supporters didn’t see their greatest side last season was Kieran Dowell. primarily because they hardly ever saw him.

The former playmaker for Norwich was supposed to play a major role in Michael Beale’s plan for a Rangers comeback last summer. Instead, a string of ailments derailed his Glasgow debut campaign, and he barely made it onto the supporting cast in Govan. Throughout a season tinged with frustration, he managed just six starts and ten substitute appearances overall.

There were times when it appeared he was going to make the kind of impact Beale had in mind when he brought the former Carrow Road apprentice north. A goal on Christmas Eve against Motherwell turned out to be the ideal present as new manager Philippe Clement battled a horrific injury list.

He helped the Gers come back from a two-goal deficit in April’s 3-3 Old Firm draw at Ibrox, and his performance off the bench was critical in turning that derby thriller around. However, all of those events turned out to be brief high points in a season that culminated in Celtic defeating Celtic in both the league and the Scottish Cup.

Now, as the Rangers prepare for the upcoming season, Dowell hopes to leave a more profound imprint on the fan base. After Standard Liege’s preseason bounce game, he stated, “I’d like to think there is more to come from me.”

“Last season, I didn’t start many games. It was, I believe, four or five games. Additionally, not many people appeared. They haven’t seen my finest side. In actuality, they haven’t seen much of me.

“Perhaps they succeed in the upcoming season. It was just so frustrating, my first year. Really annoying. Being a central midfielder, a position I hadn’t really played before, I was obviously learning a new one. That was because of things like availability, but it was really annoying that injuries occurred in between.

However, I feel better now. I feel rejuvenated, having rested well over the summer, and I’m in peak physical condition right now. I recall beating Motherwell, things were going great, and then I took another hit. That’s football for you, though, is how it happened.

You may pout all you want about it, but it happened, and now that it’s over, I feel strong once more. What can I rely on during those times? Everybody in the club. These guys are excellent at keeping you in your place. They will either put you down if you’re getting ahead of yourself or encourage you to keep going if you’re not. That set of guys is excellent for that. Of course, my friends and family also provided a lot of assistance.

After that thrilling match, Dowell left the ground with Celtic thinking he had saved the Green Bay Packers from a jail sentence. His club had trailed the team led by Brendan Rodgers by two goals on both occasions before rallying behind goals from Abdullah Sima and a Rabbi Matondo scream.

The next week, he was rewarded for his efforts with an unusual start at Ross County. However, the Dingwall loss had far-reaching effects beyond Rangers’ hopes of winning the league.

Rangers’ Kieran Dowell scores against Livingstom (Image: PA)

“It was clearly a difficult day for every player on the pitch,” he remarked. Although I started the game, I don’t believe anyone else played particularly well that day. That causes you to suffer in the end, but that’s the nature of football. The only thing left to do after being kicked off the team is to continue training and working hard.

The depressing atmosphere that pervaded Ibrox at the close of the previous season has hardly subsided, and new controversy has arisen after it was revealed Clement’s team may need to leave Ibrox for several weeks due to a building error on the Copland Road.

All of that has increased the pressure on the Light Blues as they attempt to strike a balance between their two very important goals—qualifying for the Champions League and getting a head start in the Premiership. Even though Dowell has only been in Glasgow for a year, it’s enough time to realise that if either of those goals is compromised, there will be a massive meltdown. However, he has also learnt from the previous season how crucial it is to avoid exaggerating a small setback.

The most important lesson, he continued, is to understand that we are never truly done. Everyone believes it’s finished after our disappointing start to the season and the departure of the manager who signed me. It appears to be finished when you see the Press, but it wasn’t.

By season’s end, it was back in our possession. As a result, you never know when to give up. Should we aim for a quicker start this season?

“Ideally no, but even in that case, you’re still in it. In my first season, I guess I thought we were done, but we weren’t. Of course you want to get off to a quick start, but the season is lengthy.

Dowell checked in last summer as one of nine new additions. Clement is making sure he assists the summer recruits in settling in. He has added five this time so far, but more are planned.

“I always try to welcome the new lads,” he remarked. It’s a fantastic organisation for that kind of activity, I believe. Many boys have recently joined, and it’s encouraging to see everyone putting in a lot of effort on the pitch.

“After taking a quick break and cleaning up, the guys are back on track and ready to go after it. For this club, every season is undoubtedly crucial, but maybe we can succeed.

Even though Clement wasn’t the one who signed him, Dowell is content with the tight relationship he has with his Belgian manager right now. Regarding the positive indicators he observes in his relationship with Clement, he remarked, “I believe it is the quantity of times he uses me.

“He is an excellent trainer who provides you with a lot of assistance. I’ve learned a lot from him about assuming new positions as a centre midfielder. I’m glad he’s already added a couple strings to my bow. He pushes you to try new things and wants you to play. He’s an effective manager.

£3.5 million release clause surfaces as Rangers in advanced negotiations for a new acquisition claims

To surpass Fenerbahce to his signature, Rangers will have to pay Adama Traore’s £3.5 million release clause, according to AfricaFoot.

Writing on their website (7 July), the news source notes that the Mali winger has been in “advanced talks” [AfricaFoot, 26 May], but now Jose Mourinho’s team presents fierce competition.

According to reports, the 29-year-old has a release clause in his contract and Ferencvaros are ready to sell to the best bidder, so Philippe Clement might have to approve paying the whole price.

Rangers still need attacking choices at Ibrox until 2024/25.

With six players now confirmed as fresh team members, Clement and Rangers have been somewhat busy in the summer window.

Although Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron, Liam Kelly, Hamza Igamane, Oscar Cortes have already put pen to paper, the squad is nowhere near as strong as it should be when the season opens next month.

Attack is an area that particularly requires additions with the future of Cyriel Dessers up in the air [Chris Jack, 3 July], Sam Lammers most likely to leave and significant questions regarding Todd Cantwell [The Sun, 20 June], Scott Wright and Tom Lawrence also.

Rangers Philippe Clement

Philippe Clement is likely to be frustrated at Rangers

Traore would bring experience to the team and having won medals in the past, it may well be the kind of signing required to support a youthful squad along in a race.

However, Rangers will have to act fast or miss another target this summer since Mourinho is now definitely in the battle for his signature.

Clement’s must-have goals, the latest on transfers, and his choices for strikers – Chris Jack Talks About It

Rangers are one week closer to being able to play again now that another week of summer is over.Philippe Clement’s team will spend the next few days at a training camp in Holland as they ramp up their preparations for the new season. Soon, they will have a lot of games to play, so they need to be ready to go right away.

Recently, the deal for Hamza Igamane has been the main topic of conversation. There has also been a lot of talk about a move for Kenny McLean. Off the field, fans are still waiting to find out where Clement’s team will play their home games in August.

Ibrox is always busy, even when the week isn’t very busy. Chris Jack takes some questions from readers of Rangers Review here.

Are we planning to put money into younger players and use loans to help them gain experience?

When the manager recently spoke to RangersTV, he talked about the need for experienced players, which is a sign of things to come during the next part of the window. The deals that brought in Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, and Oscar Cortes were made with the long term in mind, but they need to perform this season. Don’t forget that Clement is building up both a team and a group.

The loan market is something that Rangers could use, but those moves are more likely to be the finishing touches than the building blocks. According to the example given, signing McLean would not cost a lot of money but would give the team the experience it needs.

Rangers have a lot going on right now. There will be a mix of short-term and long-term deals, with younger players with promise and older players with experience. This mix is important for Clement because any move he makes will have sports and money effects.

How many players do we need to sign if Dessers leaves?

I think it will be one in and one out. From this week’s Rangers Review, we learned that teams in Saudi Arabia, France, and Spain, along with PAOK, were all interested in Dessers. Fans have different feelings about the striker, but most wouldn’t mind if the £4.5 million fee and his salary were used to buy another forward.

Clement will be careful with Danilo because he just got back to the team after hurting his knee. We don’t know enough about Igamane yet to say whether he will be a big hit right away or whether it will take him some time to get used to Ibrox.

That does give Clement a problem to solve because August is going to be very busy and important. Rangers must get a centre forward with a lot of experience. Since Clement only uses one player in the middle, it would be strange for him to add a fourth choice for that spot. In the last third, it will be up to other people to participate.

Do you believe Danilo has been missed as a No. 10 or second striker?

People were pretty excited when Danilo was signed last summer, and a lot of that energy was fair since a Brazilian forward had just been bought for £6 million. Fans are still interested in Danilo a year later, but this time for a different reason.

As was already said, it would be unfair to expect too much from him too soon. Also, any player who has surgery to repair a cruciate knee ligament and then has to go through the necessary therapy needs to get back in shape. Still, Clement needs Danilo to help out and score some goals this season.

Rangers will put money into the key spot, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if players like Todd Cantwell and Tom Lawrence left. Danilo was signed as a No. 9, which is what he will do most of the time. Clement shouldn’t move him a little lower; instead, he should make him stronger at No. 10 and then, hopefully, decide who leads the line.

Could they still be sold, even if they are in training camp next week?

There are times when it’s easier to just let people go. During the window, a lot of names have been thrown around as possible exits, but nothing is certain until there is money and contracts on the table. Things do need to move a little faster, though.

Rangers can’t play with a big team. In terms of football or money, it doesn’t make sense, and Clement won’t want players who aren’t in his plans to stay in the locker room for too long.

Supporters shouldn’t worry too much about who is going to Holland yet because the window is still pretty open. Things can happen very quickly, and players and managers can make things happen when they recognise what is going on. Going on the plane doesn’t mean you’ll be in the group when the window ends.

Are we going to get a right center-back?

This part of the team still has a lot of work to do. According to the Rangers Review, the deal for Jose Cordoba fell through a few weeks ago. Nsiala is the only centre back that has been signed so far. Since there are a lot of people in that spot, that might not be a surprise.

It was easy to deal with Leon Balogun, and he meets a lot of criteria, but he is not a normal starter. If the right deal comes in, the club will sell Connor Goldson. Ben Davies and Leon King also look like they are not needed by the team. At least one person has to come in if three leave.

John Souttar didn’t have a great season, but he did well overall and will try to win that spot in the position where he is most comfortable. Many people were wondering why he was so reliable when it came to selection last season. However, he is not promised a jersey because a right-sided recruit is expected to arrive.

What do you think makes a player experienced? Someone between the ages of 24 and 26 who has played a few seasons or someone over 30? Or maybe someone who has played X number of first-team games at a good level since they made their start when they were young?

As the time has gone on at Ibrox, the experience factor has become more important. It makes sense when you look at the backgrounds of some of the candidates. Cortes has only played a few games in a blue shirt and Nsiala hasn’t played a first team game. Jefte has also not played at this level before. Igamane is an unknown quantity and can’t be judged on paper, as was said above.

In general, I don’t think people should care too much about how old a recruit is. A player can get the skills and information he needs in just a few seasons if he works with good professionals and at a high level.

As long as most of your games don’t come off the bench at the last minute, you should know your way around by the time you’ve played, say, 100 games. In the end, each case must be looked at separately.

What do you think is a reasonable goal for the coming season, given how many changes are being made to the team and how little money we have for what is basically a complete rebuild? Do you think Clement will get the same amount of time as Gerrard for it?

Rangers will not give up on winning the Premiership title. It will always be that way. People think that a season is a failure if the trophies are not at Ibrox at the end of it. Even if the Scottish Cup had been won last year, Clement would have been criticised for not being able to lead his team to victory in the top flight.

Things are very different now than they were when Gerrard took over. It would be crazy to keep Clement in charge for a third try at the title if the Rangers fail this time. That might not be fair, given what he walked into. That’s just how things are at Ibrox, though.

Rangers need to stop hiring and firing managers and putting together new teams that don’t do well. The dugout and dressing room need to be stable for the club. That doesn’t mean you should stick with a plan that isn’t working, and this term Clement and these players have a lot to show. No one else will know that better than him.
