Rangers star who is leaving was seen with a new signing this summer, which was a surprise Ibrox transfer hint

New Rangers defender Connor Goldson is another senior star who is ready to leave the club.

In Cyprus, it was said that Goldson was getting a physical with Aris Limassol before he might move to the team that they played in the Europa League last season.

Connor Goldson is one of several important Rangers first-team players who are set to leave the club in the next few days.

But pictures of the team that went to Birmingham this week have made some people question the possible transfer, since Goldson is still very much a part of the group.

Goldson leaves on a jet with the Rangers team

Connor Goldson has been a rock for Rangers for all six years he has played there.

But many on the team think the 31-year-old’s chance to show that he can lead Rangers back to the top of the Scottish Premier League has passed.

Exit reports say that Connor and pilot James Tavernier flew to Cyprus through Prestwick Airport at the beginning of the week. Internet detectives have been able to figure this out.

But guess who has shown up back in the Rangers group as they head south for a pre-season friendly with Birmingham City?

Pictures of the Rangers team getting on a jet to go to Birmingham make it clear that the former Brighton back is there.

It’s clear who is in the picture for the friendly at St Andrew’s because Scotland international and summer signing Liam Kelly, who is the club’s back-up custodian, is jetsetting off to the club’s training camp in the Netherlands by himself.

What will the Ibrox defender do next?

Of course, the fact that Connor Goldson is still with the team has made people very doubtful that Rangers will sell the defender.

When a club is about to sell a player, they usually don’t let them play in pre-season games because they could get hurt and ruin the deal.

In turn, this has made many Gers fans scratch their heads, and for good reason.

There is, however, some information coming out of Cyprus that might help explain why Goldson flew out and then back this week.

Kostas Papadopoulos, the press officer for Aris, said that the club is “close” to getting a new centre back, but there are still some rough edges to work out.

Until these things are settled, Goldson will still play for the Rangers.

“A new deal is almost done,” Papadopoulous said. “Things aren’t easy because there are a lot of moving parts.”

“We are working hard to make a deal.” We’re not going to give out any names.

Now, everyone is looking at St. Andrews to see if Connor Goldson plays tonight for Rangers against Birmingham.

It’s interesting that the Blues have also been linked with a move for Goldson after a US investor invested in the team.

Rangers’ defender Goldson “completes” his medical, and Aris is about to make a move

According to reports, the centre half flew out and completed his testing.

According to reports, Connor Goldson completed his physical examinations prior to leaving the Rangers to join Aris Limassol.

Local reports, as cited by the Daily Record, state that the defender is close to finishing the swap after flying out to Cyprus to finish his testing. Landing the 31-year-old is considered a huge coup, and the agreement will remove his pay off Gers’ bill to assist with any possible additions this summer.

It has been stated that Ibrox detectives were accurate in their assessment that Goldson had reconciled with his departure and showed up at the airport to join a private jet for his journey.

Birmingham City in League One down south and Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq were recently linked.

Considering that he is still under contract, the vice captain, who has played for the Light Blues for six years, is expected to fetch a respectable price.

When is the UEFA Champions League qualifying draw, who could Rangers face, and how the new Champions League structure works

Here’s when the UEFA Champions League qualifiers will be chosen, and who Rangers might face.

Rangers will soon find out if they can qualify for the UEFA Champions League in the upcoming 24/25 season.

While Philippe Clement’s team aims to win their first Scottish Premiership title since 2021 and defeat rivals Celtic, a return to Europe’s elite league would bring a much-needed financial boost and be welcomed by Ibrox fans.

The Light Blues have only competed in the UEFA Champions League once, in 2011, when they qualified for the competition with a 3-2 aggregate win over PSV Eindhoven, but the Dutch club avenged themselves a year later, defeating Michael Beale’s Rangers 7-3 over two legs.

Rangers, one of the four seeded clubs in the draw, will be hoping that their coefficient ranking will result in an easier draw. Lille, RB Salzburg, and Slavia Prague have all been seeded for the third round qualifying stage.

Champions League’s new format is outlined for 24/25.

If Rangers make it through the qualifying stage, they will enter a completely new UEFA Champions League format for the 24/25 season. In past years, 32 teams were divided into four groups, with each side playing each other at home and away. The top two teams from each group would then advance to the last 16 stage of the competition. However, this format has been altered.

The new UEFA Champions League structure will feature 36 clubs competing in a ‘league phase’. Competing teams will no longer play three teams home and away in a group, but will instead face eight different teams, four at home and four away. To select fixtures, each team will be divided into four seeding pots, with each side being chosen to play two opponents from each pot. They will play one home and one away match against a side from each pot.

When do Rangers play their UEFA Champions Qualifiers?

With Ibrox unavailable, the Gers will play their home leg of the UEFA Champions League qualifier at Hampden Park in Glasgow. The games will be played August 6/7, with the second leg played on August 23/14.

When is the UEFA Champions League third-round qualifying draw?

Rangers will enter the third round of qualifying, as they did in the most recent UEFA Champions League campaign, and will learn who their opponents are. The UEFA Champions League third round qualifying draw will be held at The House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 11 a.m. UK time. Watch the draw live here.

Who might Rangers face in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers?

The Gers will face one of six sides throughout two legs. Former qualifying opponents Union Saint-Gilloise of the Belgian Pro League and FC Twente of the Dutch Eredivisie may face Rangers after already qualifying. They might possibly face the winner of Lugano and Fenerbahce, Dynamo Kyiv, or Partizan, who have yet to play their second qualifying game.

‘He’s close to choosing.’ – Kris Boyd: Philippe Clement may leave Rangers anytime soon

Kris Boyd, Sky Sports pundit

Kris Boyd feels Philippe Clement is nearing a decision on whether or not to leave the Rangers.

According to the Scottish Sun [19 July], the former Gers forward is concerned about the lack of cash to strengthen the squad, which could lead to his departure.

Boyd does not regard Clement as suffering if he does not receive what was promised when he took up the job.

He said, “Philippe Clement looks to me like a man on the verge. Like someone who may easily leave Rangers anytime soon. I detest saying that. And I pray I am incorrect.

“But that’s what I gathered from his statements about the work he’s currently being asked to accomplish.

“A lack of funds to rebuild the squad, with money only available if he sells someone first.” This is not what he signed up for, was it? Clement strikes me as a sharp individual who is not easily fooled.

“With that in mind, I honestly think he is on the verge of concluding that the circumstance leaves him with only one option. And that is to quit.”

Rangers have grossly let down Philippe Clement so far.

Clement, who came to the club with high hopes, now faces the problem of rebuilding the squad without significant financial backing.

This circumstance was most likely not what he expected when he took on the post.

Rangers’ inability to back the Belgian in the transfer market could bring him to the brink.

If the club continues to withhold finances until players are sold, it may hinder Clement’s ability to reorganise the team as per his vision.

This lack of support may undermine the manager’s belief in the club’s commitment to his ambitions and his long-term future at Ibrox.

To keep Clement and restore the club’s competitiveness, the Ibrox outfit must address this issue quickly.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement

Failure to do so might result in the Belgian’s exit, a major blow for the club.

‘His time is up.’ – Pundit View: £2.7 million-rated player gone at Rangers; settlement fee proposed

Rangers great Barry Ferguson has alleged that Sam Lammers’ time with the club is up.

On Friday (July 19), the former player and analyst for The Daily Record stated that the forward does not fit into Philippe Clement’s squad.

Despite interest from Dutch teams, the £2.7 million-rated player is unlikely to leave Ibrox this summer.

Utrecht has agreed to a £2.7 million price with the Gers for Lammers, but his high wage demands have hindered any potential trade (Daily Record, July 17). The forward has three years remaining on his current Rangers contract.

Ferguson stated: “There is a lot of interest in the Dutchman returning to his hometown after a successful six-month loan spell at Utrecht. However, while those teams are willing to pay Rangers’ requested sum, none can match his financial requirements.

“Although it is evident that his time under Clement is done, Lammers has every right to hold tight with three years remaining on his contract. If he can’t earn the same money elsewhere, why should he leave?”

Sam Lammers is in no rush to leave Rangers.

Lammers has every incentive to stay with Rangers, and it all boils down to money. Despite interest from Dutch clubs, he earns significantly more at Ibrox. Why should Lammers take a pay cut simply to return to the Netherlands?

He still has three years left on his contract, and the financial security it provides is difficult to ignore. Utrecht expressed strong interest, even offering to pay Rangers’ asking price of £2.7 million.

However, when it came to wages, they were unable to match his requests, providing only one-third of what he is already making.

Staying in Gers makes perfect sense for Lammers. He’s well compensated and doesn’t have to compromise his cash.

Philippe Clement does not see Lammers as part of his plans

Philippe Clement and unless a team can match his earnings at Ibrox, Lammers is wise to remain where he is and reap the advantages of his hefty contract.

£6m attacker can be Rangers key man as he plots delayed impact

Last season, Rangers ran out of goals while Cyriel Dessers worked and Philippe Clement had to make frequent use of Scott Wright as an auxiliary striker.

If anything ever portrayed the problems the manager had to deal with last season, it is one forced choice and he will be aiming to prevent a repeat this campaign.

Hamza Igamane will give more reliable cover than Kemar Roofe and Philippe Clement will be pleased to see Danilo back in a Rangers shirt against Ajax.

Danilo hoping to relaunch Rangers’ career following false dawn

Two long-term and somewhat unfortunate injuries limited his league performance to just 995 minutes and only five starts.

Rangers need a terrible lot more this season for a £6 million investment.

Inquiring about his excitement for the next campaign, The Rangers Review asked:

“They have seen me always trying to offer everything I can on the pitch and I want to help the team as much as I could with the goals.

“Last year did not turn out as mine. Although I had some decent stats like goals and assists, I believe today I know every everyone in the building and fresh players abound.

“I will try to score as many goals as I can and ideally avoid poor luck with the injuries. As much as I can, I wish to assist the lads and participate on our squad.

“We should keep together and work hard as much as we can to bring as many successes together. That is what I am trying to convey to Rangers enthusiasts.

“I will surpass myself by more than 120%”. I shall try my best to achieve as many goals as I can want.

Danilo gets his chance to be the primary man.

Michael Beale made one of the most strange choices last season: insisting on playing Dessers at the start of the season after he had missed much of pre-season.

Worse, Danilo was on fire for Feyenoord in the early friendlies before he got to Glasgow.

Having only really sprung into action in October, Dessers finished with stats of 22 goals and eight assists; Danilo will be expected to improve these numbers provided he keeps fit.

The Brazilian will also be expected to show up in major games and generate more opposition defence issues than Dessers did.

He is faster, more mobile, and a better presser; last season, the absence of pace in the Rangers forward line was terrible to see at times.

Though Danilo may not be completely fit yet, he has plenty of games to increase his minutes between now and when the major action starts.

Though he might not be the messiah, many Rangers’ dreams revolve on the striker eager to offset lost time.

Pundit: ‘Love to see’; ‘No-Brainer’ for Rangers to sign another sensation linked to Ibrox

To complement Connor Barron, Derek Ferguson would want to see the Rangers finalise a trade for Lennon Miller, a teenager from Motherwell.

After bringing in Barron from Aberdeen after his contract expired, the Light Blues have been scouting the second young midfield player with the intention of signing him [Football Scotland, 10 July].

Ferguson, a former fan favourite at Ibrox, thinks it’s a no-brainer this summer after neglecting the greatest Scottish players far too frequently in the past.

Having seen the 17-year-old phenom play at Fir Park numerous times, he is a tremendous fan of his game, and for Rangers, he believes the deal is a “no-brainer.”

“I’ve watched a lot of the boy over the course of the last season at a number of Motherwell games,” he revealed in an exclusive interview with Ibrox News.

Indeed, at the age of 17, he plays with the maturity of a 27-year-old. He is undoubtedly a fantastic football player, but even at his young age, he exudes physicality.

It makes sense to me. Rangers, in my opinion, have been missing a trick by not scouting enough of the young Scottish talent over the previous few years. He is a very good player. His father, who was also a famous player, was his old man.

“It’s encouraging to see young Barron here, and I hope to see Miller as well.”

Motherwell midfielder is wanted by Rangers amid the Philippe Clement makeover.

Barron may have left Aberdeen before the Gers signed him, but the ensuing arguments over payment indicate that this was perhaps the more difficult option between the two exceptional Scottish Premiership prospects.

It is hardly shocking that Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement are now considering Miller, who has begun his penultimate year of contract, given that they successfully closed the deal [BBC Sport, 8 May].

Motherwell might be easier to work with than the Dons are turning out to be, and because senior targets are currently hard to come by [Andy Devlin, July 12], a player with ageless skill might be a better option.

Purchase plans by US-Scottish group for Rangers revealed

Businessman Scott Galloway has come clean about intending to buy Rangers under a US-Scottish partnership.

Also a best-selling author, the marketing professor at the New York Stern School of Business has revealed his dropped plan to seize power at Ibrox.

Passionate football player Galloway had gathered a group of fourteen of the richest Scots in the US and developed a strategy for running the Ibrox team.

Using a £10 million convertible note in the share purchase, the 59-year-old intended to run the club.

But he was swiftly turned off from the concept when a close buddy said “they would hate you” in a ‘American fool’ stab at the ambitious intentions.

Galloway stated, speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast: “I brought together the wealthiest, most prominent Scottish individuals in the US, which is around 14 of us, and said let’s go buy Rangers FC.

“This is a publicly traded firm; I calculated out the £10 million convertible note.

“And then a friend of mine, a well-known Scottish historian remarked, ‘You would be the most loathed person in the United Kingdom. They would despise you. You know nothing about football; you would be some American moron over there. I was like okay you’re right.

“Just go to Rangers games, what are you thinking?” asked he.

The American consortium’s plan to take over the Rangers for a lot of money was stopped by fear of the “most hated person in the UK”

Scott Galloway has revealed he planned a Rangers takeover attempt

His plan to take over the club was put on hold after he talked with a close friend and a Scottish scholar.

Businessman Scott Galloway said he dropped his plans to try to take over Rangers because he didn’t want to become “the most hated person in the UK.”

Back in 2021, there were reports going around online that the businessman wanted to take over the Scottish Premiership while Douglas Park was in charge of the Glasgow giants. However, there was never a move for the American to become the manager at Ibrox. However, Galloway, who is now a Clinical Professor of marketing at the New York University Stern School of Business, finally told Steven Bartlett about his plans to leave the club on the Diary of a CEO podcast.

Galloway made a lot of money by starting and selling a number of tech companies. He also sat on the boards of directors for companies like the New York Times and Urban Outfitters, and he says he got a group of 14 people together to take over the Rangers. When they talked to a close ally, though, the idea was quickly scrapped.

Scott Galloway has revealed he planned a Rangers takeover attempt

When talking about buying clubs like Tottenham, he said, “I got about 14 of the richest and most famous Scottish people in the US together and told them, ‘Let’s go buy Rangers FC.'” This was because the company was publicly held. I knew what it was: a £10 million conversion note.

Someone I know who is a well-known Scottish historian then told me, “You’d be the most hated person in the UK.” He says, “You don’t know anything about football; you’d look like an American idiot over there.” I agree, of course. It makes him wonder, “Why don’t you just go to Rangers games?”

“There is a pain equation with buying sports teams because you are buying a tribe and most of the time you won’t win,” Bartlett replied. Then there’s Dave from Southampton; he’s been a fan of that football club his whole life and is a p*****”.”

He then said, “Unless you win trophies from day one, you’ve done something wrong.” “And who does?” Barlett asked to finish.

“Notable Absentees”: Journo provides an update while the exit-linked duo is excluded from Rangers action

Due to minor injuries, James Tavernier and Todd Cantwell were both “notable absentees” from the action as the Rangers and Standard Liege drew, according to Andy Devlin.

After missing the pointless friendly on July 10, the Scottish Sun journalist reported from the Gers preseason camp in the Netherlands on July 12 that the two first team players have not yet played due to “just through injuries and niggles, and what not.”

At halftime, Philippe Clement made three further changes to the starting lineup, changing the whole outfield lineup, leaving Jack Butland as the only player to play all ninety minutes.

Although Cantwell and his captain Tavernier have been connected to departures this summer, it doesn’t seem that their absences from the preseason game had anything to do with transfers.

Due to an injury, Philippe Clement departs from the Rangers partnership.

Due to Steven Gerrard’s interest in the Saudi Pro League, Tavernier has been strongly connected to leaving for some months; it’s even possible that personal arrangements have already been agreed upon [Gallant Few, 19 June].

Since Clement succeeded Michael Beale, Cantwell’s career has never appeared particularly assured, and the former Norwich player’s play declined in his second season at Ibrox.

The latter was embroiled in an odd scenario in which the English midfielder was offered to a club by agent Jose Enrique, a former Liverpool defender, but the communication was inadvertently sent to the incorrect person [Scottish Sun, 3 July], implying he would be moving this summer.

To create room for important signings, sales must be closed as soon as possible if either of them depart, as Cyriel Dessers and others have.

Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland

Jack Butland was the only Rangers player to get 90 minutes in the preseason friendly

In the preseason friendly, Jack Butland was the only member of the Rangers to play all ninety minutes.

Although there have been a lot of departures and arrivals this summer, the opening day starting XI is currently in danger of looking a lot like how it ended the last season in such a sad way. The new season will begin in less than a month.

As one of the Rangers title-winning pair departs for England, the Euro winners are interested in the controversial ace

This transfer window, two Rangers heroes are expected to change teams.

This summer, when they return to Europe, two Rangers title winners will be transfer movers.

As the Michael Beale era began last summer, Scott Arfield left Ibrox to join FC Charlotte in the Major League Soccer. The American team inked an 18-month contract with the Ibrox fan favourite, but it appears that the pact will expire 18 months early.

According to MLS writer Tom Bogert, the 35-year-old is returning to the UK to play for a team in the “lower leagues in England.” Arfield has experience in England, having spent time with Burnley, Huddersfield Town, and Watford before winning the Premiership with Rangers in 2021. Finishing touches are said to have been applied on the move, since he did not show up for training on Thursday.

Alfredo Morelos is a man he defeated more than three years ago to win the crown. Although the striker is polarising, during his exciting six years in blue, he left Rangers supporters feeling both enthralled and irritated. Currently playing for Santos in Brazil, he appears ready to go from the massive continent.

Atletico Junior and Atletico Nacional, two teams in Colombia, were rumoured to be fighting for his signature, but Brazilian source Versus has recently indicated strong interest from Europe. Olympiacos, the winners of the Europa Conference League, have been linked to Morelos and have even made an official bid.

The Santos leaders are open to discussing a transfer fee with teams who are considering the 28-year-old. Olympiacos, who won the European championship the previous season, are back in the Europa League, and with 32 goals, Morelos is fourth on the competition’s all-time top scorers list.

“Excellent signing “: Pundit rejoices as Rangers pursue agreement for Scotland’s “Top Player”

According to Derek Ferguson, Kenny McLean would be a “great signing” for the Rangers and could provide a crucial elder presence to assist mentor the younger newcomers.

Before Euro 2024 began, the former Ibrox midfielder chatted with a few Scotland internationals, and they identified the Norwich captain as Steve Clarke’s finest player right away.

According to the Daily Record on June 24, Philippe Clement’s team is hoping to sign the 32-year-old this summer. However, a week later, there were hints that a transfer was already imminent, which surprised some [Rangers Review, 1 July].

Although things have slowed down since then, Ferguson is certain that a trade would make perfect sense and that one is still possible [Rangers Review, 5 July].

“I think he’d be a great signing,” he exclusively told Ibrox News. “I spoke to a couple of Scotland players right before they left for the Euros and asked them: ‘Who’s the best player in the squad?'” Immediately afterward, Kenny McLean emerged from the two lads.

“He’s a fit boy in this day and age, he had a great season with Norwich in the Championship last year, he’s Player of the Year, he starts all the way up there.”

They all claim he is a Rangers man since we are made to understand he has a hint of affinity for the team. It seems to be helpful.

“He’s a fit boy, I don’t think he’s had many injuries in his career, and he’s been playing a slightly deeper role than these guys, so I could do that for fun.”

Derek McInnes was the one who brought him to Aberdeen, and he was very complimentary of him. He plays really well, in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, there are many things to enjoy about the number of children we are bringing in, but sometimes you need elder heads there to guide them. He would adore that scenario if he were to get that move.

“I think he would be a good addition to the Rangers.”

Connor Barron is Rangers’ only new signing in central midfield so far this summer.

Rangers midfielder Kenny McLean may be added to Connor Barron’s squad.

After an outstanding season in England, there is no doubt about McLean’s abilities, and his loyalty to the Light Blues increases the likelihood of a deal. For this reason, it is appealing to team him with former Aberdeen youth Connor Barron at Ibrox.

However, the news that he was a target came as a bit of a surprise given his age and the possible expense of the move for a crucial player at Norwich.

Though John Bennett has informed Clement that money would be spent, it is unclear how far the budget will extend [Daily Record, June 14]. If the figures add up, McLean might follow Todd Cantwell and Kieran Dowell from Carrow Road to Glasgow.

Personal terms sent: The £5,600-a-week Rangers forward has now been offered, and Koppen is ready to cash in

An offer has been made to a “bright spark” player by another club, which suggests that he will be leaving Ibrox soon. Nils Koppen is trying to get rid of him.

Rangers news about transfers

The Gers want to beat Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title in 2024–25, so they are planning for a great season. Early signs in the transfer market are very good.Philippe Clement has already added a lot to his team. He has signed players like Jeffe, Mohamed Diomande, Connor Barron, and others.

Rangers are supposedly in the running to sign Bobby Clark, a young midfielder from Liverpool. The midfielder is seen as a possible replacement for Paul Gascoigne, who was a huge star at Ibrox in the 1990s. He is also being coveted by RB Salzburg, RB Leipzig, and Norwich City. RB Salzburg is now coached by Pep Lijnders, who used to be an assistant manager for Liverpool, which could be a big plus.

Bojan Miovski, a 25-year-old striker for Aberdeen who has scored 44 goals in 95 games for the Dons, is also thought to be wanted by Clement’s team this summer. It is being thought about that he could replace Kemar Roofe, who recently left the team because his deal was up.

A lot of attention could still be on getting new players before next season, but there are also players who could leave for new opportunities on top of those who have already left. Now, an exit claim has come up about one of these people.

Rangers are offered a “bright spark” by the club.

Football Insider says that Rangers forward Scott Wright has been “offered a contract” by Championship club Sheffield Wednesday. Rangers are “willing” to let Wright leave, and Koppen is ready to get rid of him.

The player, who is 26 years old, only has one year left on his contract, so the Gers want to get paid for him before he can leave for free.

Wright hasn’t been able to be an important player under Clement—he only made eight starts in the league last season—so this seems like the best result for everyone. Rangers have no choice but to sign him because his deal ends next year. This will give them even more transfer funds.

Steven Gerrard was one of his biggest fans at Ibrox. He said, “I thought he was a real spark, full of energy. He sees a pass and is always looking to break through.” He thinks quickly and got his prize for another great game, so he is really on my mind.”

Moving to Wednesday could give Wright, who makes £5,600 a week, the chance to show what he can do at a big English club, where he will hopefully start more games. He will be remembered as a good player for Rangers, who won the league title in 2020/21 and one Scottish Cup and one Scottish League Cup.

Dan Bardell moots Rangers star to remain amid most recent transfer activity

Dan Bardell thinks that Hamza Igamane’s signature marks not necessarily the end for Cyriel Dessers at Rangers.

Ex-Rangers man Kenny Miller responded with enthusiasm when the Gers revealed the signing of the Moroccan via their official website (5 July).

Rumours about Dessers leaving Ibrox have been circulating, and David Edgar’s suggestion (6 July) that the Nigerian is quite likely to leave this summer has been fulfilled.

The top scorer from last season won not be forced away by the new arrival, according to Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell.

Speaking only to Ibrox News, Bardell said: “I don’t view it as the end for Dessers generally.

“Igamane seems to be a low-risk signing, hence I doubt he is arriving as a straight replacement for that fee.

“I would contend they are getting him with an eye towards development and improvement following cheap registration. I wouldn’t particularly expect that one in implies another goes out for Rangers.

Rangers might choose Hamaza Igamane to replace Cyriel Dessers.

Though he had a great performance in front of goal in his first year, Dessers is a player whose ratings from fans last season were not very good.

The Nigerian dropped off among any other striker possibilities but concluded the season as Rangers’ top scorer.

Clement has to be ready to forfeit a forward option since Igamane is arriving; else, he would have very little minutes.

Cyriel Dessers could leave Rangers this summer

After so long out, Danilo will need some time to recover his match fitness; Igamane will acclimatise to the Scottish Premiership.

Having said that, Dessers looks poised for the Ibrox exit door in the summer window, however right now he is the best striker available to Rangers.

Keith Wyness: Rangers are being pushed to bring “top no. 9” to Ibrox

Keith Wyness, who used to be the manager of Aberdeen, has said that Rangers need to sign a “top number nine” in the summer.

In a new episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old said that the Gers have focused on “shoring up” their “leaky defence” in the first part of the window. He has been CEO of Aberdeen from 2000 to 2004, Everton and Aston Villa for long periods of time, and now runs a football consultancy that helps elite clubs.

Rangers have already signed left back Jefte, centre back Clinton Nsiala, and winger Mohamed Diomande to long-term contracts this summer.

Along with them, Hamza Igamane, Connor Barron, and Liam Kelly have arrived at Ibrox.

Fabio Silva has returned to Wolves from a loan spell, and Kemar Roofe has been let go because his contract was up.

Rangers’ top scorer in the 2023–24 season was right back James Tavernier (20). The club came second in the Scottish Premiership.

Wyness says the Rangers will change their plan and look for “top number nine.”

Wyness said that the team has a “lot of work ahead” of it to get to the same level as Celtic, their foes.

He told the Insider Track show from Football Insider, “So far, everything has been in the back.”

“Clement’s main goal has been to fix the defence, which was pretty weak near the end of last season.”

The club also needs to improve its strike power.

“Clement loves to play with wingers, but to get the most out of that formation, he’ll also need to get a top number nine.”

“He’s working hard on his defence, and this team needs a lot of work to get to the level of Celtic.”

Why Rangers’ transfer could be the best conclusion for Scottish football’s last man standing at the Euros

Romania and Rangers midfielder Ianis Hagi looks on during the Euro 2024 round of 16 defeat to Netherlands. (Photo by KIRILL KUDRYAVTSEV/AFP via Getty Images)

What does the future hold for forgotten Ibrox star?

Subbed off during the last 16 defeat against Spain while wearing a hair net, Ianis Hagi might have wished for a more dignified end to his Euro 2024 adventure.

Still, the Rangers playmaker can reflect on a positive summer with Romania after another difficult season of club football and amid continued speculation about his future.

Of course, referring to Hagi as a Rangers playmaker seems slightly disingenuous. It’s been a while since he made any play on behalf of the Ibrox club. Nearly 12 months, indeed – and even then it didn’t feel like he was an integral part of the club’s future plans, certainly not near future.

His frustration was evident when he opened up about finding it difficult to comprehend why he wasn’t making a greater contribution to Rangers having recovered from a serious knee injury.

He had come on as a second half substitute against Morton in the League Cup and had played only the last moments of a Champions League qualifying win over Servette. When the then manager Michael Beale excluded him from the Champions League squad for the play-off tie with PSV Eindhoven, the writing seemed to be on the wall. And so it proved – by the time the transfer window ended, he was out on loan at La Liga side Alaves.

Still, this is Rangers. Hagi has only had to wait around a bit – while his case playing 25 games on loan for Alaves, more often from the bench than not – before surveying a new landscape at Ibrox. Whether Philippe Clement’s vision of Rangers might include Hagi remains to be seen. There’s already a body of opinion that the Romanian with the famous dad is a better bet at No.10 than the ex-Norwich City player with an active Instagram account.

That said, it would surprise no one if neither Hagi nor Todd Cantwell are stepping out at Murrayfield, Hampden or wherever else Rangers can find to play their opening home games next season.

In light of Clement’s previous admission that he watches football all the time – he once cited divorce from his first wife as evidence – we can assume he has not missed any of Hagi’s appearances, two from the start and two from the bench, in Germany. He has impressed in glimpses, which is perhaps the story of his stop-start career so far.

It is now four years since Hagi signed a permanent contract at Ibrox having impressed while on loan from Genk. Rangers fans seemed thrilled at the prospect of being able enjoy the then 21-year-old’s upwards trajectory.

That hasn’t always been the case at a club criticised for signing players who are past their best or simply not good enough in the first place. Injury has of course been the most significant factor in Hagi’s struggles to establish himself at Ibrox although he was not a regular at Alaves either – just ten starts out of 25 appearances.

Indeed, last season was an unusual season. He scored more goals for his country than at club level, although he failed to add to his tally at Euro 2024. Nevertheless, he got deeper into the tournament than any other Scottish-based player. He was also one of the few to augment rather than tarnish their reputation. Rangers might be advised to take advantage of this situation.

With still two years left of the contact extension Hagi signed shortly after Beale took over in December 2022, Rangers can expect to recoup at least some of the outlay, although the exact amount the Ibrox club paid – it is reckoned to be between £2-3 million – and the precise arrangement was never disclosed.

Then CEO James Bisgrove praised Genk for their cooperation in making the deal happen, noting that it was full of enterprising clauses. It’s likely the Belgian club will stand to gain to some extent. Whatever the situation, a clean break for both Rangers and Hagi would appear to be the prudent way forward.

Lastest news on all of Rangers’ summer transfer deals: “Done, terms agreed, bid rejected”

What’s new with Rangers’ transfers this summer? They’re getting ready for a busy few weeks.

Rangers are making plans as they try to make more moves during the summer transfer window.

In the next few weeks, manager Philippe Clement and Ibrox recruitment chief Nils Koppen want to add more experienced players to their team. At the very least, they want a new right-sided defender, wide, and striker.

The Light Blues could also look to improve other areas as the Belgian squad change continues. Bringing in new players would help the ones they already have, like Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Liam Kelly, Connor Barron, and Oscar Cortes, who have all signed contracts so far.

There are still likely to be departures. Current captain James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, and Ianis Hagi, as well as Jack Butland, who was named “Player of the Year” last season, are all likely to be wanted by other teams.

A lot of people have said that the Gers would also be open to offers for players like Tom Lawrence, Scott Wright, and Sam Lammers. Only a few of these stars are seen as essential, so it’s likely that only one or two will be sold.

In light of that, here is the latest on the Rangers’ player moves…

1. The Yusuf Kabadayi

Several weeks ago, it was thought that the Bayern Munich winger would soon be joining the Gers, but things have since stopped moving forward. Besiktas is now in the running to get his name, and they are said to have made an offer that was accepted.| Picture by Getty

2. Ioannes Hagi

Thought to come in from the cold after a disappointing loan spell in La Liga. Hasn’t played for Alaves since the beginning of March, but manager Luis Garcia has praised him for his attitude in Spain. It looks like his managers will decide what will happen to him.| AFP via Getty Images

3. Hamza Igamane

The Gers are almost ready to announce that they have signed the Moroccan forward. The international player under 23 has now been given permission to move to Scotland and will become Clement’s sixth summer hire. He will join for a fee of about €2 million, plus bonuses.| Picture by Getty

4. The Lammers boy

AZ Alkmaar is said to be ready to match the Gers’ £2.5 million asking price for the Dutch forward after his successful loan spell with FC Utrecht. He could be going back to his home country for good.JPEG

5. Albion Rrahmani

Even though he is only 23, the Kosovo international striker knows how to score goals. He scored 19 goals and set up five others for Rapid Bucharest last season. Still one of Clement’s main goals. The Transfer Market

6. John Goldson

Had one plan already in place to leave Ibrox, but now they may have another one to look into: a move to England with Birmingham City. Former Celtic manager Chris Davies wants to get his team promoted back to the Championship right away and wants Goldson to help him make his defence stronger.| Picture by Getty

7. Hey Ben Johnson

People tried to get in touch with the former West Ham back, but he chose to sign with Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town for a reported £60,000 per week. It just cost too much for the Gers to win this one… | Getty Images

8. Cyriel Dessers

Rangers might be willing to sell the 22-goal striker if they can get a good price for him, around £5 million. With that money, they would spend on another new player. Greek Superleague team PAOK is said to be in “advanced talks.”| Picture by Getty

9. Reinald Woods

Right back isn’t a top priority for Clement right now, but the young player was released by Arsenal, and since Tavernier is rumoured to be moving to Saudi Arabia, the club may choose to look into him.| Picture by Arsenal FC on Getty Images

10. Scott Wright

The left, who used to play for Aberdeen, could be leaving for six figures to play in the English Championship. Sheffield Wednesday have made an offer. Wright is said to be very interested in Owls manager Danny Rohl. Wright has been told he is free to leave the club.| Picture by Getty

11. Kevin McLean

Last week, trade rumours about the midfielder brought up the possibility that the Scotland international could play for Rangers, which would be his dream. The 32-year-old used to play with Todd Cantwell and Kieran Dowell at Carrow Road, so he would fit right in with Clement’s new team.

12. Adama Traore

It was thought that the Gers were “working heavily” to bring the fast Ferencvaros winger to Ibrox in a deal worth around £3.5m, but those rumours have died down in recent weeks.| Picture by Getty

13. Tom Lawrence

Two teams in England—Ipswich Town and Sheffield United—want to bring the attacking player back to the UK. However, Giovanni van Bronckhorst wants to take him to play for Besiktas in Turkey.| Picture by Getty

14. Ibrahim Sima

Brighton’s asking price for Sima dropped to around £8 million over the weekend, which was good news for Liverpool’s pursuit of the winger. He is now in the last year of his deal at the Amex Stadium.

15. John Lawrence Shankland

Recently, there have been rumours that the Scotland and Hearts star could make a big move to Ibrox. However, the move has not yet come together. Last season he scored 33 goals and has improved some parts of his game, so he should be very sought after.| Picture by Getty

16. Robert McCrorie

Another player who could be leaving Ibrox this summer is Liam Kelly, who will change the way the goalkeepers play. Could have stayed with Rangers last year, but it looks more likely that he will go elsewhere to find regular first-team play.| SNS Group

17. John Scott McKenna

The strong centre back is a free agent after leaving Nottingham Forest, and both Celtic and Rangers have been linked with a move for him. After spending the second part of last season on loan at FC Copenhagen, they are thinking about making a move to get him.| Picture by Getty

18. John Thomas Galdames

The Chilean player was one of the first to be linked with the Gers back in May. He wants to move to Europe after doing well with Godoy Cruz in South America. There has been no progress on a possible move to the Rangers.| Picture by Getty

19. John James Tavernier

Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia is still interested in it. The right back, who is 32 years old, is about to start his retirement year with Govan, but the offer of huge money in the Middle East could make him change his mind.| Picture by Getty

19. Couhaib Driouech.

To be like Igamane, he is a young player for Morocco and still has a year left on his contract with Excelsior Rotterdam, a Dutch team that was dropped from the top league last season. Right now, PSV Eindhoven is the favourite to sign him, but the Gers have also been mentioned as a possible destination. The Transfer Market

21. Mofokeng Relebohile

He has been told to stay in South Africa instead of taking a chance by moving to Europe too soon in his job. Clement really wants to sign the young playmaker, but the player hasn’t decided what he wants to do with his life yet.| AFP via Getty Images

22. Rhivan Yilmaz

There were rumours that the Turkish left back could be leaving Celtic Park, and Galatasaray were interested in him. They even made trade offers late in the January window. Now, his old team, Bestikas, wants to bring him back to his home country.

Rangers faces a new financial crisis

If Rangers has to use Murrayfield for games in 2024–25, the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) will decide how much they have to pay the club.

Daniel Bowers, a journalist for Football Insider and a Scottish expert, said that in an interview for the Inside Track show.

Many people think that Rangers will play at least a few of their first competitive games in 2024–25 at Murrayfield in Edinburgh. The fact that a pre-season friendly against Manchester United will be held there on July 20th is a hint in this direction.

But this could be seen as a chance for Scottish Rugby Union to make a lot of money if they can make a deal with the Gers, given how bad things are for the club.

Hampden Park is another idea that has been brought up, but it will be closed for at least the first few weeks of the new season while the playing surface is resurfaced after the summer concerts.

On top of that, Queens Park needs to use the stadium, but the smaller venue next door isn’t open.

Rangers might have to pay a lot of money for Murrayfield.

As the season gets closer, the Rangers are pretty much at the mercy of any venue owners.

Bowers says that SRU may have to be tough-loved and Murrayfield may have to be used until the “shambles” of fixing up Ibrox is fixed.

It is thought that SRU would want a big paycheck plus earnings from ticket sales, merchandise, and other costs related to the games.

Keith Wyness, who used to be the manager of Aberdeen, told Football Insider [27 June] that Rangers can’t even rule out playing their whole 2024–25 season at Murrayfield because of delays in sending materials from Asia that are throwing off their plans to rebuild.

Wyness said that the home of Scottish Rugby was the “only sensible option” in the middle of the chaos at Ibrox, where fans were quickly losing patience with the club and its partners.

There is no clear way for Rangers to make a deal right now, but with the Scottish Premiership schedule released earlier this week and Champions League qualifying still to come, time is running out.

Rangers make a news about a transfer by Fabrizio Romano, as Ibrox elbows out to get talent

Arsenal in the Premier League and teams in the USA were both very interested in the skilled 16-year-old.

Fabrizio Romano says that Alexander Smith turned down big offers from clubs in England and the USA to sign his first professional deal with Rangers.

Arsenal and other unknown clubs were also thought to be interested in the highly-rated 16-year-old, but the Ibrox team beat them to the player.Smith also has family in the US and is a dual citizen, which means he can play for both countries. He has been capped by both at the youth level.

So, people thought that MLS teams were ready to bring the starlet over to the United States. He has now put an end to any rumours that he might be leaving Glasgow, though, by committing his future to the Light Blues.

Romano says the young player has signed a new three-year deal. This is great news for the Gers academy, as they’ve lost a lot of their best players to teams south of the border in recent years. He wrote on X: “Alexander Smith has signed a professional contract with Rangers for three years. Deal is done.” Smith could have played for the USA or Scotland, but he chose Rangers over strong choices in the MLS and Premier League.

It is said that Rangers would have been owed a six-figure sum as compensation if Smith had signed his first professional contract with another team. They may have been keeping an eye on his growth for a few months.

Smith has a long way to go before he can make an effect on Philippe Clement’s first team, but signing him will give the Gers a better financial package if he leaves the club at any point in the next three years.

Rangers WON’T get an SPFL “sanction” like Dundee did in the middle of the chaos at Ibrox as the Hearts case study is brought back to life

It will be hard for Philippe Clement’s team to be at home in Govan for the first month of the season.

Rangers will not get in trouble with the SPFL because of the lockout at Ibrox, just like Hearts did when they had problems building at Tynecastle.

That’s what former Ibrox custodian Cammy Bell thought. He fought back against claims that the Light Blues should get spanked by league officials, like their foes Dundee did after the Dens Park flood last season.Rangers executives are having a hard time finding a temporary home because their main stadium will be closed for the first month of the 2024–25 season because of delays in improving the Copland Road stand.

Rangers need to find a new place to play their “home” Scottish Premiership games against Ross County and Motherwell in the first month of the year. They also need to find a place to play their important Champions League qualifiers and a possible home Viaplay Cup last 16 match.

Some pundits have compared it to the punishment Dundee got after a string of calls off at Dens Park last season. After two failed attempts, Rangers finally got their away game in the City of Discovery played on Wednesday night, the THIRD time. The Dark Blues have been fined a huge £186,000 and have had £120,000 delayed because of six call-offs this season.

However, Bell thinks that Hearts’ problems in 2017 are more likely to happen. Due to a delay in installing seats in the club’s new main stand, it was decided that three of the first four home games for the Jambos would be played at Murrayfield instead of Firhill. The other home game against Partick Thistle would still be played at Firhill.

Not a single thing was done by the SPFL against the Edinburgh team. Bell told the Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, “The games will happen on the date and time they were planned to.” I think we’re still early enough that there will be an answer. In the next week or two, that solution will be made public.

“The games will happen on the dates they’re supposed to; the only thing that matters is which stadium they’re played at.” I absolutely do not see any connection between this and what happened in Dundee. In the case of Dundee, I thought they were breaking the rules by not taking care of their pitch and making it good enough to hold a game.

Hearts had building problems, and they didn’t get fined, so I don’t think Rangers will either. The problem was found early enough; it wasn’t found a week before the season. I don’t think it’s the same problem as at Dundee because it’s still June and it sounds like they are in advanced talks with the SPFL about where they will be moving to for this short time.

There is still chaos at Ibrox, so the SPFL has blocked Rangers’ fixture of games

The Daily Record says that Rangers will still have to host home games to start the Scottish Premiership season, even though there are still problems at Ibrox.

According to the source, the SPFL is waiting to talk to the Gers about “potential switches” until Thursday, June 27, when the matches are made public.

This means that Rangers are “very unlikely” to start the season with only away games because of problems at the stadium.

Even though they won’t be able to host games at Ibrox to start the season, their first home games will not be switched with away games.

Rangers had to play at home even though Ibrox was closed.

The building work at Ibrox has been pushed back, so it’s still not likely that the Gers will play their first games there.

Because of this, the club has thought about using other venues, like Murrayfield, as alternatives, but that could cause problems anyway.

Fans who will have to move far away, even for just a few games, will find it annoying to have to pack up and move.

No one in charge of the Rangers would ever agree to the idea that they should play all of their first games away from home.

If that happened, by the end of the season there would be an unfair edge as they would have almost every game at Ibrox.

Rangers Ibrox fans

Rangers fans at Ibrox

There will be times when it is frustrating to move, but that is the only way to solve the problems.

We got ourselves into a bad spot, and Philippe Clement will be hoping that it doesn’t hurt his team’s form.

Report: Player was seen at Auchenhowie, and Rangers are expected to pay a £525,000 transfer fee

The Daily Record says that Connor Barron, who recently signed with Rangers, was seen at Auchenhowie after completing a permanent move to Ibrox.

The news source said on June 24 that Gers still have to pay Aberdeen a £525,000 fee unless they go to court and try their luck.

That’s because the Dons should get paid because the 21-year-old came up through their academy and played 76 times for the first team.

Connor Barron will want to make the Rangers first team all the time.

After moving from Aberdeen, the 21-year-old midfielder will be eager to make a name for himself as a regular member of the first team at Ibrox.

Because of his experience and skills, he could make a big difference right away in the next season.

Barron’s ability to switch between different midfield roles could be very helpful for Philippe Clement.

The midfielder’s first impressions in preseason training will be very important. To show Clement that he deserves a spot in the starting lineup, he will need to show off his technical skills, tactical knowledge, and physical fitness.

Barron has already played in the Scottish Premiership with Aberdeen, which will help him quickly get used to the demands of playing for a top team like Rangers.

Connor Barron

Rangers signed Connor Barron on a free transfer

Additionally, Barron’s ability to grow even more with Clement’s help could be a big plus in his favour.

There will be sales of Ibrox stars after the player passes his medical to join Rangers, according to a report

The Scottish Sun says that Hamza Igamane passed a medical before Rangers made their official announcement that he would be joining the team at Ibrox.

On Saturday, June 22, the newspaper said on their website that Igamane, who is 21 years old, had agreed to join Govan on a five-year deal after leaving FAR Rabat in Morocco.

It is expected that he will be named Philippe Clement’s fifth summer signing within the next 48 hours. A fee of £2.5 million has already been agreed upon.

This summer, Jefte, Oscar Cortes, Clinton Nsiala, and Connor Barron have all already signed with Rangers. Also, Mohamed Diomande’s loan deal has been turned into a permanent one.

A lot of players could now leave Ibrox, according to The Scottish Sun. James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, and Todd Cantwell are all names that could be cut.

Who is Hamza Igamane, the new player that Rangers bought?

Igamane is not a player that Rangers fans would have known about before he was linked with a move to Ibrox this summer.

The 21-year-old is a striker who scored seven goals in 23 games across all competitions for FAR Rabat last season, helping them finish second in the Botola Pro, which is Morocco’s top league. He scored six goals in 18 league games in 2022–23, and his team won the title, making him the club’s youngest champion ever.

It’s clear that the Scottish Premiership is a step up from the Moroccan top flight, which is thought to be the best league in Africa. However, coming in having already won a title is a good thing. There are also some huge stadiums in Morocco that have very hostile atmospheres. Igamane will have been even better prepared for the Old Firm, which is like a pressure cooker.

Igamane has also won a lot of international games. With Morocco, he won the U23 African Cup of Nations.

There will definitely be a change in culture when I move from Rabat to Glasgow. Rabat is a city known for its scorching heat and beautiful architecture. But he has shown signs of being someone who has grown up in the country where he was born and is likely to cause trouble in Europe.

‘He’ll go to…’: A former teammate talks about what a £5 million Rangers target told him about the summer transfer period

Soon after signing Mohammed Diomande in January, Philippe Clement said that Ibrox might not be the end of the midfielder’s journey.

“Certainly (he can do better)” “Not just the next few weeks, but also the months and years,” Clement said of the Ivory Coast player who was brought in on loan from Nordsjaelland.”He’s a very good player, and I don’t think Rangers will be his last stop.”

„Of course, you need some luck with injuries to make it in this business. He will take bigger steps, though, if he stays away from that.

Would Albion Rrahmani join Diomande on the blue side of Glasgow? If so, could he also begin a journey that takes him to the top of the European game?

Rangers have kept Talks with Alboon Rrahmani

The Rapid Bucharest striker, who is worth £7 million, has a lot of drive and talent.

Rangers are said to have started talking two weeks ago. It is said that Director Nils Koppen met with Rrahmani’s agent in Mexico.

It looks more likely than not that the Romanian group will split up this summer. A number was given by Rapid co-owner Vincent Angelescu: the player with the most goals (19) was “80%” likely to have a new club by the start of next season.

Which club, though?

Rrahmani and Alexandru Albu played together at Rapid, but Albu didn’t say for sure where the Kosovo international would end up. But, like with Diomande, he thinks that Rrahmani could go beyond the level of the Scottish Premiership in the next few years.

“He is a valuable player, and it is hard for valuable players to stay in our championship,” Albu tells Orange Sport. “If he leaves, I’m sure he will go to a big team.”

“What the player decides is very important here, not just what the club decides, because the player also wants to prove that he is a great football player.” Rachanani wants to get as high as he can.

“He told me that he wants to get to a top team.” This means “top ten (in Europe)”

Rangers are also interested in Hamza Igamane.

In that case, Rangers might be a smart move in the right direction. After winning the Golden Boot with Ballkani in Kosovo and then being just as productive in Romania, Rrahmani’s skills would be seen by a lot more people if he played for Rangers in Europe.

That’s why Albu is sure that the 23-year-old poacher can do anything.

The player who left Rapid Bucharest at the end of last season says, “He is very good, and I think he can get to the top of the European game.” “But take it one step at a time.”

Sport Bull, a Romanian newspaper, says that Rangers think Rrahmani is worth £5 million. Rapid, on the other hand, want around £7 million. The real amount may be somewhere in the middle, though.

What the Rangers’ pursuit of Hamza Igamane means for that Rrahmani chase, on the other hand, is still unknown. The Daily Record says the RAF Rabat forward will cost less than £2 million. Will there be room at Ibrox for another number nine?

Even though Kemar Roofe has already left, Clement can use both Cyriel Dessers and Danilo. Will someone have to move to make room for two new people?

It’s not likely that Rangers will sign a “young player with enormous potential” to play with Clement again

Any hopes the Rangers still had of signing a player who won a championship in one of Europe’s major leagues last season went up in smoke on Wednesday.

Around the end of last year, Rangers’ pursuit of the 19-year-old midfielder seemed more and more likely to lead to a deal.

TEAMtalk says that the Glasgow giants were in the running for Noah Mbamba. He is a Belgium Under-21 player and used to work with Philippe Clement at Club Brugge in Belgium.

Also, it was Clement who gave Mbamba his first senior game when he was only 16. He even played against Manchester City in the Champions League, when most of his friends would have been thinking about high school and college.

According to Clement three years ago, “He shows a lot every day in training.”

You should be careful because he has worked hard. There is still a long way to go. I’ll do the same thing with him as I did with Charles De Ketelaere, who finally joined AC Milan for £30 million. Give him time to play and let him grow without expecting too much from him. We need to help him grow little by little.

Rangers will not be getting Noah Mbamba.

Leverkusen didn’t give him many chances to play for the first team, so joining Rangers and working with a coach he knew well seemed like the next best thing. But Rangers chose to sign Mohammed Diomande from Nordsjaelland instead in January of the next year.

It is now expected that the Glasgow giants will also sign Connor Barron, who is no longer under contract.

After the Mbamba rumours died down, Bundesliga newcomers Fortuna Dusseldorf jumped at the chance to sign the teenager for the 2024–25 season.

Mbamba only played three times during Leverkusen’s Bundesliga-winning season under Xabi Alonso. He will play for Fortuna on loan this season.

On the official website, Klaus Allofs, Board Member for Sport and Communication, talks about Fortuna’s new player as “a young player with enormous potential.” “We’re confident that he will do very well in our setting and quickly make our team stronger.”

“We had to take the chance to loan a player with this much talent, even though we don’t have the option to buy.”

Young star from Bayer Leverkusen goes on loan

Rangers have not come back for Mbamba, which may surprise some people. Even more so now that John Lundstram and Ryan Jack have left. Diomande had already shown that he was worthy of a permanent move to Ibrox, and Barron came with a track record in the Scottish game. It’s possible that a 19-year-old who had barely played any senior football in 2023–24 was seen as too much of a risk.

Fortuna, on the other hand, clearly thought that the possible benefits were greater than those worries.

Christian Weber, Fortuna’s sporting director, says, “With Noah, we’re getting a player who can play in a lot of different positions in the middle and who has great physical and football skills.”

“Because he is so good for Leverkusen, he has only been used occasionally lately.” Despite his youth, he has already shown his skill at the highest level. He should now take the next step in his development by practicing matches with us on a regular basis.

Rangers is also getting close to signing Liam Kelly, a former Motherwell custodian. Also, a striker is likely to come in. Albion Rrahmani from Rapid Bucharest and Hamza Igamame

from RAF Rabat are both being considered.

An insider says the Gers will be able to have their cake and eat it too, since Koppen is linked to two exciting strikers

When it comes to Rangers, strikers are like Glasgow buses.

After waiting a long time for one, two show up at once.

Fans of Rangers are hoping that this will happen because of the high-profile links to both Hamza Igamane and Albion Rrahmani.

Rangers are almost done with a £1.7 million deal to sign Hamza Igamane from FAR Rabat in Morocco. The news came out over the weekend.

This deal has Ibrox fans more and more excited as time has gone on and more clips have been watched. The player is thought to be one of the best young strikers in the world.

People worry that the deal has stopped people from wanting to hire Rapid Bucharest’s Kosovan hitman Albion Rrahmani.

The president of the Romanian club laughing a bid all the way out of Bucharest hasn’t helped this idea.

The situation has been talked over by Four Lads Had a Dream’s Stevie Clifford, who is a leading Rangers insider. He isn’t sure these two transfers are connected.

“Rangers are after number nines.”

His Four Lads Had a Dream website is one of the most well-known Ibrox fan sites. Stevie Clifford is known to have close ties to Rangers.

Clifford talked about the Rangers’ ties to Hamza Igamane and Albion Rrahmani on the platform’s most recent podcast.

This summer, the host of “Four Lads Had a Dream” confirmed that Rangers are looking for more firepower. He also said that the Gers might play with four strikers next season.

It comes as Danilo comes back from injury and Cyriel Dessers, who is currently the ninth player, is not in a hurry to leave.

“Rangers are interested in nines for sure,” Clifford said on the podcast.

“The bid for Rrahmani may not have been enough, and they’ve moved on.” We’ll find out when the time comes.

“I believe we need two nines and Danilo to join the team.” I also don’t think Cyriel Dessers is too eager to move.

What are Igamane, Rahamani, Danilo, and Dessers?

You can understand why Rangers fans might have thought that the news about Hamza Igamane might have hurt Albion Rrahmani.

After all, Rangers had been linked to the Kosovan striker for a long time this summer.

But Football Scotland says Rangers are still “in pole position” to sign the forward this summer, which makes the links to Igamane more interesting.

Rangers’ front line will definitely get bigger before next season if they can make a deal for both players. Danilo and Cyriel Dessers will also be there.

Fans will have to “watch this space” until any deals are official, but for now, Stevie Clifford’s comments will only make them want to learn more.

It’s now up to Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement to close the deals before next week’s start of pre-season training.

Apparently £3m Rangers star put himself in the shop window after admitting he wanted to leave Ibrox

Sometime during Ianis Hagi’s time with the Rangers, it looked like he was going to be the best player in the world.

Rangers pulled off something of a coup when they signed the kid on loan from KRC Genk in January 2020. He was once one of the most promising young players in Europe.

Ianis Hagi showed he was very talented with a stunning comeback double in the Europa League win over Braga. A few months later, we signed him to a permanent deal for £3 million.

After a season and a 55th medal, Ianis Hagi was becoming an important part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Ibrox puzzle.

But bad luck struck when Hagi hurt his cruciate ligament, and he has never fully recovered at Rangers.

The playmaker’s future is uncertain because he spent last season on loan at Spanish club Alavés. The 25-year-old has been promoting himself for Euro 2024.

Hagi plays in a romp in Romania

We all know that Ianis Hagi is the son of the famous Romanian playwright Gheorghe Hagi.

This is why it says in the football stars that the attacking midfielder will play at Euro 2024 with Romania this summer.

After scoring the important goal that sent the country to Germany (a fairy tale after the Rangers star’s injury problems), even less playing time in Spain wasn’t likely to stop a call-up.

Now, Hagi has just come off the bench as Romania beats Ukraine 3-0 to get off to a great start in the Euros for the first time since 2016.

In the first half, Nicolae Stanciu scored the first goal for Romania. In the second half, Razvan Marin and Denis Dragus scored the rest of the goals.

After the hour mark, Ianis Hagi came on for Denis Man and was seen leading the celebrations when the game was over.

Future of Rangers not decided

Ianis Hagi said this summer that he wasn’t sure about his future with Rangers, so the Euro 2024 appearance comes as a surprise.

Hagi has said that he is focusing on his duties in Romania, so it’s still not clear what’s going on with him, even though it was thought that he might be going back to Rangers.

Many people at Ibrox aren’t sure what will happen with Ianis’s future, but the playmaker can’t say for sure if he’ll be back at Rangers after the tournament in Germany.

At the beginning of June, Hagi said, “My attention is on the Euros.” “I spoke with my agents, and the heat is on them.”

I want them to know what I want for my future. This summer is very important for me in every way. That’s what I told them before I went to the national team.

“I expect them to do everything they can to help me find the right team and manager.”

“I don’t know if I’ll be at Rangers or somewhere else.” My agents decide what will happen to me.

Ianis Hagi has played 99 games for Rangers and has scored 16 goals and set up 21 others.

The playmaker has also played 36 times for Romania and scored five goals.

Rangers really need to get Damian Garcia after two permanent departures from Ibrox have been confirmed

Derek Ferguson says that every team needs players like Damian Garcia, but Rangers need him more than anyone else right now because they’ve lost two senior midfielders.

On June 5, Football Scotland said that the Light Blues were interested in the Uruguayan midfielder during Philippe Clement’s transfer window.

And after the club confirmed that both John Lundstram and Ryan Jack would be leaving because their contracts were up, the Ibrox midfield looks empty. Ferguson, who used to play in that position, thinks Garcia would be a good addition in the same way that Stuart McCall was.

Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, and Oscar Cortes are the three 20-year-olds that Clement has already signed. Ferguson likes to sign young players from other countries because their desire to make the move shows that they are hungry.

He told Ibrox News only, “They brought him in for a reason; they did their research.”Philippe Clement is doing everything he says he is doing right now with the hiring, with Koppen coming in.

“These young men are being sought out.” When they lose players like Lundstram and Ryan Jack, they miss out on players who could do more than just destroy the other team.

“But this kid looks like the kind of person who likes playing defensive midfield, which is a role I think every team needs.”

“Look at the Rangers.” McCall came to Rangers even after I left. He was great in that part. It was hard for him to let the other team’s playmakers do their jobs because he stopped the game.

“You need that kind of person all the time.” Stuart could play too, and I’m sure this kid can too.

“Obviously, they like something about him, and I like that. Again, as a young 20-year-old, he’ll be hungry and have a lot to prove, and I think that’s what we need at Rangers.”

“I love the hunger of young players, but we need to find the right balance. You can’t just bring in all young players.” To see how good they are, they’re ready to go to another country.

Ryan Jack and John Lundstram leave the Rangers because their contracts are up.

Rangers John Lundstram

John Lundstram is one of two Rangers midfielders to leave already along with Ryan Jack.

The news on June 12 that Garcia was going to sign a new deal with Penarol (Dario Alberti) that included a $10 million (£7.9 million) release clause is bad news for Rangers.

Because of how busy Clement and Nils Koppen are at Ibrox this summer, they can’t pay that much, even though John Bennett has said there is money to spend [Daily Record, 14 June]. This means he can’t leave for a cheap price with only a few months left on his contract, but it doesn’t mean a transfer won’t happen.

As for the Light Blues, they need at least two more players in central midfield. If Garcia doesn’t prove to be one of them, they’ll have to move for Connor Barron and keep looking for more players.

Pundit feels bad that Rangers might have to sell first-team player; calls it “horrible and heartbreaking”

Derek Ferguson said that if Kieran Dowell leaves Rangers this summer to go to England, the club will send him their “best wishes.”

As Philippe Clement changes his team, the Gers midfielder’s future is uncertain. In his Daily Record column on June 2, Kenny Miller said he had “no impact” and the manager would be open to offers. Meanwhile, on May 28, Chris Jack wrote for Rangers Review that a return to Scotland “looks on the cards.”

Ferguson, who used to love playing at Ibrox, agrees that the 26-year-old’s move from Norwich a year ago hasn’t worked out after only 16 games in all competitions, most of which came off the bench.

The commentator agrees that injuries are very hard on players, but they insist that the club must be “ruthless” when they try to get better during the transfer window.

He told Ibrox News in an exclusive interview, “Listen, I’m not making fun of boys who are hurt; it must be terrible and heartbreaking for them.” But Rangers have to be cruel, we can’t have that.

“I know it’s a contact sport, but the way things are going, it’s becoming a non-contact sport. You can see a player there, but he doesn’t play enough games and isn’t fit enough.

“That’s why we wish him luck if he goes to England and finds a club there.”

“Nonetheless, it has not occurred to him at Rangers, as it has not occurred to a number of them.”

Rangers Philippe Clement

Philippe Clement has to be “ruthless” with Rangers during the summer transfer window

Rangers need Philippe Clement to be “ruthless” during the summer transfer window.

The move from Norwich to Rangers is hard for Kieran Dowell.

After John Lundstram and Ryan Jack left because their contracts were up, Clement doesn’t have a lot of midfield options, though a deal for Connor Barron could happen soon. But, like Jack, it hasn’t mattered much if Dowell was in the squad or not because he hasn’t been fit to play.

Injuries don’t affect anyone more than the player who gets hurt, but Rangers have had more of a problem with them lately than most teams.

Dowell was a signing by Michael Beale, and when a new manager takes over, players that were brought in by the previous manager may not be available. Since he was a free agent, it might not take a huge offer to get him.

‘We’re saying goodbye’: The club has confirmed that the Rangers target is leaving after receiving a “strong” offer from Ibrox

The truth wasn’t really a secret. However, it’s still good to know for sure. One of the Rangers’ main summer targets will be free this summer.

Free agents aren’t really free, though.

No matter when a player’s contract ends, there are still agent fees, signing-on fees, and wage demands that are often higher because there is no transfer fee. Although Connor Barron won’t get an insanely high signing-on bonus like Kylian Mbappe does when he joins Real Madrid (£85 million), Rangers also wouldn’t be able to just grab the highly-rated midfielder without spending a dime.

The Daily Record says that Rangers would still have to pay Aberdeen a fee, but it would be a lot less than what the player is worth on the market. Rangers could be taken to court if they can’t agree on a fee. Barron is now free to sign a contract at Ibrox.

To get Connor Barron, the Rangers want to win the race.

There is a “strong offer” for Barron to move to Glasgow, and he is likely to decide next week. In the English Championship, Swansea City, Cardiff, Stoke, and Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle are all fans of him.

Italy is also interested. Bologna, which is going to the Champions League, wants to get into Scottish football again after the success of Aaron Hickey and Lewis Ferguson as captain.

After that, no one knows where Barron is working in 2024 or 25. But Aberdeen is not going to be it.The Dons confirmed on Friday that the Scotland Under-21 international is one of several senior players who will be leaving in July. These players include goalkeeper Kelle Roos and former Celtic winger Jonny Hayes.

A statement on the Aberdeen website says, “Now that the 2023–24 season is over, we can fill you in on our first team squad for the coming season.”

“We are sad to lose Kelle Roos, Connor Barron, Anthony Stewart, and of course Jonny Hayes from our first team.”

“The club made Connor a number of offers to try and keep him at Aberdeen.” He has chosen, though, that his future will be somewhere else.

Aberdeen confirms that their star midfielder is leaving.

Would Barron choose the Rangers? If so, he would do what Scott Wright and Ryan Jack did. It looks like he will be a good fit to replace the latter, since the former Aberdeen captain is leaving the team, making room for an aggressive, all-around central midfielder like Barron.

Barry Ferguson, who has led Rangers to five Scottish Premiership titles, would love to see one of the best young players in the country follow in his royal blue footsteps.

After all, Ferguson has criticised his old team for not making better use of local talent, since Josh Doig, Hickey, and his nephew Lewis all left Scotland to play for other teams.

As the race to sign Barron heats up, Ferguson now tells Go Radio, “I think he’s a good young player.”

“Will he really make the Rangers midfield stronger?” It’s hard when you play for a team like Aberdeen and have a lot of responsibility. What people want and expect…

“But he plays well.” I think I would go with the price and give him a chance. I have been impressed by Aberdeen when I have seen him.

“But going to Rangers is a whole other story.”

Clement’s team also wants to sign another Scottish free agent. In the summer, keeper Liam Kelly will be leaving Livingston.

Rangers to accept big money offer ‘too good to turn down’ for exit-linked defender, according to report

The Rangers Review says that the team might be tempted to take an offer for Ridvan Yilmaz.

The online news source said on June 13 that the Gers are not actively trying to sell the left back in order to make room for summer transfers.

Things might change, though, if the right offer comes along.

It costs money to keep Yilmaz at the club. Philippe Clement wants to spend the rest of his career with the 23-year-old, but that could change if the club gets an offer they “couldn’t refuse.”

Philippe Clement will want to keep Ridvan Yilmaz at Rangers.

This summer, Clement will try to keep Yilmaz.

The defender did a great job for the Belgian until March, when he got hurt and couldn’t play anymore. The fact that the Gers’ form dropped in April and May shows how Yilmaz changed the team.

He has been hurt a lot during his two seasons with the team, but the Rangers Review says that the Gers are sure that those problems will be fixed during pre-season.

If the club keeps Yilmaz, they will have two very good left-back options now that Jefte is there.

That depth could be very important for Clement’s team next season as they try to take the Scottish Premiership away from Celtic.

There have been rumours that Yilmaz might leave the club. On June 10, the Turkish newspaper Sabah said that Besiktas had made an offer to re-sign the player.

Ridvan Yilmaz could remain at Rangers this summer

Yilmaz’s agent, Necdet Ergezen, told Gokmen Ozcan on June 10 that the player has no plans to go back to Turkey right now, which suggests he would be willing to stay at Ibrox.

Rangers to shell out £7.7m to seal new deal

Rangers want to sign Damian Garcia for £7.7 million.

It looks like Rangers will have to pay around £7.7 million to get Penarol midfielder Damian Garcia.

Ibrox wanted to sign the 20-year-old player, according to a report from Football Scotland on June 5th. It is likely that Nils Koppen had talks to sign him in Cancun.

But if Gers still want to sign him this summer, things will be harder because Dario Alberti says he will sign a new deal that lasts until 2026.

The reporter for Sport 890 said that they would add a £7.7 million release clause to the deal to protect their own interests.

In a tweet, Alberti said, “Tomorrow, Damián García’s contract with Peñarol will be renewed until December 2026.” Their pay will go up, and they can leave for a US$10,000,000 fee. It was over for Ruglio and Lasalvia on their trip to Mexico.

Rangers aren’t likely to spend a lot of money on Damian Garcia.

Garcia is only 20 years old, so he hasn’t shown much talent yet, especially outside of Uruguay.

He has shown promise in his home country, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be able to do the same in a more competitive league like the Scottish Premiership.

Garcia has also not yet made a big name for himself on the international stage.

Even though he played well in the under-20 World Cup, the demands of senior club football are very different from playing youth international football.

Rangers would be taking a big risk by putting that much money into a player who hasn’t played much yet.

Trying to get Damian Garcia doesn’t fit with the Rangers’ plan for making transfers.

Gers should instead focus on talented people who have already been around for a while.

The club doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on transfers, and it would be a waste to spend a lot of it on a player who is still learning the game.

There are probably cheaper options that can help the first team right away.

One more thing that needs to be thought about is Philippe Clement’s suggestions. If he can’t take the club to the next level, he will be held accountable.

Ibrox view: Rangers are getting close to deciding whether to bring back Abdallah Sima, and Brighton is about to set a record-setting goal score

Since Brighton is about to hire a new manager, Abdallah Sima will soon know if his future includes going back to Rangers.

The Senegalese forward was a great addition to Glasgow’s team last season. He scored 16 goals across all competitions while mostly playing off the left wing, even though he was hurt for three months from January to April.

That return is a big part of how many goals Michael Beale and Philippe Clement scored last season, which makes a deal to keep him at Ibrox appealing if it works out financially.

There have been several public statements by Sima saying that he would like to stay at Rangers if an agreement can be reached between the two clubs.

Rangers Review said on June 6 that he probably wouldn’t be told about his future until Brighton hired a new manager. They fired Roberto De Zerbi at the end of the season, and now they’re about to do that.

Fabian Hurzeler will take over for Roberto De Zerbi at the Amex

Sky Sports reported on June 9 that the Seagulls had gotten Fabian Hurzeler, the manager of St. Pauli, a work permit. If he takes over at the Amex, the 31-year-old will become the youngest Premier League manager ever.

After a day, Fabrizio Romano said that the German is likely to sign a deal down south in the next 48 hours, while talks on a compensation deal for the record-breaking move continue.

It’s clear that what Hurzeler plans to do with Sima will have a big impact on the 22-year-old’s future. If the coach doesn’t see him in the plans for next season, it would make it more likely that he comes back to the Rangers.

The wide player hasn’t played for his parent club yet because he moved to the Light Blues after loans at Stoke City and Angers.

Derek Ferguson of Ibrox News, on the other hand, isn’t sure if the club can afford to sign Sima to a permanent deal because he thinks it would cost eight figures.

Rangers winger Oscar Cortes

Rangers have also brought back fellow loanee Oscar Cortes.

It would cost a lot to sign Rangers for good.

Because they bought him for £6 million from Slavia Prague in 2021, the Seagulls probably won’t want to let him go for free. However, The Athletic reported at the time of the original deal that there was thought to be an option for an extra year.

If Hurzeler doesn’t think Sima is ready to play in the Premier League, and the player has made it clear that he feels at home at Rangers, Brighton could choose to exercise his contract option and let him come back on a second loan deal, unless they get a better offer from somewhere else.

As a result, the English club is almost certain to get a new manager, which will be a big step towards Sima finding out where he will play next season.
