Rangers FC
The Rangers gave the phenomenon a four-year contract this year, and the four lads were ecstatic.
Rangers appear to be sure about Mason Munn after handing him a four-year contract aged 18, believes Stevie Clifford.
The Four Lads Had a Dream blog and podcast host has hailed the talent of the young goalkeeper who was tied down to a long-term deal at Ibrox.
On 26 June 2024, the club announced that the teenager had put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at the club until 2028.
Speaking on the Rangers Review YouTube channel on 21 November, Clifford said at 9:42: “Mason Munn. An exceptional young goalkeeper. Recently got a new four-year deal at 18 – which we don’t hand out unless we’re sure.”
Rangers must make Mason Munn feel like a part of the first team
Now is the perfect time for Gers to demonstrate their faith in Munn by integrating him more prominently into the first-team setup.
With the young Northern Irishman having signed a four-year contract at just 18, it’s clear the club sees significant potential in him.
To nurture this talent, Rangers should consider involving him in first-team training sessions regularly, allowing him to learn from and be mentored by Jack Butland, who is not only an experienced goalkeeper but also a commendable leader.
Furthermore, offering Munn backup roles in less critical matches, like cup games or when the team has secured a spot in the next round, would provide invaluable experience.
This strategy would not only aid in his development but also signal to Munn that he is part of the long-term plan to eventually become the number one goalkeeper.
Gers have an exceptional academy but it’s also important to retain such talent.
