Everton beat Liverpool and Manchester City to sign Halid Djankpata and he’ll now be waiting for a spot in the first team.

According to Football Italia [16 February], he was scouted by the Premier League trio but ended up moving to Goodison Park.

He’s also tipped to become an Italy international in the future and has already been called up to their under-19s side.

Will Sean Dyche hand Djankpata his Everton debut?

Djankpata, the promising 18-year-old midfielder, has a golden opportunity to prove his worth to Dyche and has already trained with the senior side.

Despite not yet breaking into the senior squad, the Italian has been consistently progressing through Everton’s youth system since joining in 2018.

With his contract extended until June 2025, he has already expressed his ambition to break into the first team in the near future.

Right for Dyche at Everton

Djankpata’s versatility as an inventive and flexible midfielder, comfortable in an advanced central position, aligns well with Dyche’s emphasis on hard work, physicality and tactical discipline.

Dyche, known for giving opportunities to players who demonstrate dedication and potential, could see Djankpata as a valuable asset in Everton’s midfield.

Given Amadou Onana’s uncertain future, a move to Newcastle could see the 18-year-old promoted to the senior side.

Given the teenager’s impressive skills, determination and desire to perform at the highest level, he now has a chance to catch Dyche’s attention and earn a spot in Everton’s senior squad, fulfilling his dream of showcasing his talent on the biggest stage.
