⚽ Chelsea 3-1 PSG – Club World Cup Final
Venue: MetLife Stadium, New York
Date: July 13, 2025
⭐️ Chelsea Player Ratings
Robert Sánchez – 8/10
Stepped up in a huge match. Made several crucial saves, including a fingertip stop from Mbappe early on. His command of the box and distribution under pressure were key.
Reece James – 7/10
Solid defensively and offered his usual attacking outlet on the right. Kept Dembele quiet for large spells. Still working back to full sharpness after injury.
Wesley Fofana – 7.5/10
A rock at the back. Timed his tackles perfectly and was strong in aerial duels. Helped keep PSG’s front line from creating too many clear chances.
Levi Colwill – 7/10
Held his ground well against Ramos and Vitinha. Calm in possession, a few nervy moments but nothing costly.
Marc Cucurella – 7.5/10
Energetic down the left. Had a good battle with Asensio. Not flawless defensively, but his engine and aggression kept PSG unsettled.
Moises Caicedo – 8/10
A powerhouse in midfield. Won nearly every second ball and pressed intelligently. His athleticism helped Chelsea control transitions.
Enzo Fernandez – 8/10
Orchestrated play with class. Sprayed passes wide, broke lines, and rarely lost possession. His chemistry with Caicedo was evident.
Cole Palmer – 9.5/10 ⭐️
Man of the Match.
Unplayable. Scored two goals – one a curling beauty from outside the box, the other a calm finish after a dazzling solo run. Also assisted the third. Took the game by the scruff of the neck and delivered on the biggest stage.
Christopher Nkunku – 6.5/10
Not his most explosive outing. Worked hard off the ball and linked well in phases, but wasn’t as sharp in the final third.
Joao Pedro – 8.5/10
Tireless pressing, slick passing, and a clinical goal to put Chelsea in control. Silenced critics with a complete performance.
Nicolas Jackson – 6/10
Put in a shift but lacked the end product. Missed a one-on-one in the first half and faded as the game went on.
🔁 Substitutes
- Conor Gallagher – 6/10: Brought energy but gave away a few unnecessary fouls.
- Raheem Sterling – 6.5/10: Helped stretch PSG’s defense late on.
- Thiago Silva – 7/10: Brought calmness in the closing minutes.
- Malo Gusto – N/A: Came on late.
🧠 Manager: Enzo Maresca – 9/10
Tactically spot-on. Set up Chelsea to press PSG high and exploit the flanks. His faith in Palmer paid off big-time, and his substitutions were timely and effective.
🏆 Verdict:
Chelsea are Club World Cup champions, and Cole Palmer’s sensational performance will go down as one of the great individual showings in a final. With players like Joao Pedro and Robert Sanchez also stepping up, the future looks bright under Enzo M
