Arsenal was interested in Barcelona’s winger, but Arteta chose another player
A new story from Fichajes says that Barcelona tried to get rid of Ferran Torres in the last few days of the summer transfer window.
The club actually made the offer to Arsenal so that they could free up some pay space and make money to spend on new players. But Mikel Arteta and his team chose not to go through with the deal and instead looked for other choices.
In the end, Arsenal decided to sign Raheem Sterling from Chelsea because they thought he would fit in better with their team.
To get more playing time and get back to his best, Torres had wanted to move to the London club, but the deal did not go through.
Even though he is under contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2027, he couldn’t get Arsenal to sign him.
What will Torres do next?

As of today, there is also no sign that Arsenal will be interested again in the winter transfer window. On the other hand, Barcelona may still want to sell him to make room for a new midfielder.
Arteta, on the other hand, thought Sterling would be a good addition to his team because he had worked with Sterling at Manchester City.
Barcelona has been trying to find Torres a new club, but it looks like he will stay with Barcelona at least until the end of the season.
His future is still unknown, but it’s clear that Barcelona was trying to change things up with their team over the summer.
People have different opinions about the Spanish winger so far this season because he hasn’t been reliable. His worst game was when he failed to convert changes against Osasuna.
For now, Torres’ future rests a lot on what Barcelona does this summer, since he is not in Hansi Flick’s plans. So Torres’ time at Barcelona might be over if they sign a left winger.
