Ben Johnson is expected to be hired by the AFC franchise after stealing a front office executive from the Lions

The imminent head coaching vacancy on that franchise may entice Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions, and rumours have it that they may also try to recruit a front office executive from the Lions.

Based on his actions in the past two recruiting cycles, it’s no surprise that ESPN’s Adam Schefter has confirmed that Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions, will be very picky when it comes to accepting a head coaching position. If he accepts a position as head coach.

If Ben Johnson does decide to leave Detroit, he will be extremely picky about where he goes. “He’s going to be extremely cautious,” Schefter stated.

According to Schefter, “He will be (sought after).” However, he may not actually interview with all eight of those clubs simply because there are eight openings this year and eight organisations have him on their want list. I believe that this year, whenever Ben Johnson interviews, he is doing it with the aim of accepting the position.

No new information was revealed by Schefter in that regard. Johnson will be interviewed by every club that has a position available, but he probably won’t say yes to every one.

It isn’t totally out of left field to think that a team might steal the general manager position from the Lions and use it to recruit Johnson as their head coach.

NFL pundit Chad Forbes has made a prediction about that such thing happening.

John Dorsey, a former general manager for the Chiefs and the Browns, is now a senior personnel executive for the Lions, and assistant general manager Ray Agnew will be promoted to general manager in the near future. However, according to Forbes, Johnson will be paired with the Jaguars’ chief operating officer Mike Disner, who the team plans to recruit to replace Trent Baalke as general manager.

A seasoned NFL executive, Disner has served in a variety of capacities with the Lions, Cardinals, Patriots, and the league’s executive committee. After last season, the Carolina Panthers were considering hiring Disner as their general manager. However, Disner ultimately decided against it.

There is a long way to go before the Jaguars can be considered good again. But don’t call them a “total skip fire”; that’s just false. Fast improvement is possible if they can install trustworthy individuals in important positions. As a first step, the Lions’ front office may choose a new general manager, and then they can pay Johnson whatever he wants to take over as head coach.
