Don Cowie has piled praise on Motherwell star Lennon Miller with Rangers chief Nils Koppen reportedly in the hunt to sign him.

The 18-year-old is a target for the Gers with Koppen personally watching him for Scotland Under-19s just hours after starting his new technical director role at Ibrox [The Scottish Sun].

Rangers will reportedly face competition from Celtic and multiple English clubs for the highly rated midfielder.

For now, the youngster is preparing for a clash against Ross County on Saturday (23 November) with the Staggies’ boss Cowie clearly thinking a lot of him.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun on 22 November (page 50), he said: “Lennon is an outstanding prospect and it says a lot that Stuart [Kettlewell] has placed so much faith in him.

“To be playing the amount of football he is at his age, and the quality he plays with, points to real talent.”

Nils Koppen wants Lennon Miller at Rangers

It is no secret that the Light Blues want to become more of a force in the Scottish Premiership and pull closer to their Old Firm rivals.

One way of doing so could prove to be signing the best talents from across the division with Miller certainly being one of those.

The Ibrox club have already shown how positive this can be after bringing in Connor Barron from Aberdeen on a free transfer in the summer.

The midfielder has proved to be a useful asset in Philippe Clement’s squad so if a signing like his can be replicated in the future, there is good reason for supporters to be positive.

If the Motherwell starlet was to follow in the 22-year-old’s footsteps by making the move to Govan there is no doubt this would be met by plenty of excitement from fans.

The Scotland Under-21 international has plenty of potential suitors but Koppen appears to have made it his personal mission to bring him to the Gers.
