Dartmouth College presented Mikaela Shiffrin with a ceremonial degree.

Legendary ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin spent the weekend in Hanover, New Hampshire, where she was honored with an honorary degree from Dartmouth College during commencement ceremonies for their class of 2025.

Dartmouth College presented Mikaela Shiffrin with a ceremonial degree. Shiffrin paid tribute to her late father, Dr. Jeff Shiffrin, on social media. Dr. Jeff Shiffrin worked as an anesthesiologist for Vail Health and Anesthesia Partners of Colorado before he passed away at the age of 65 in 2020.

“Hi, Dad. Today, I was awarded an honorary degree from Dartmouth. Who would have guessed that our family would have two Dr. Shiffrins? (One skis down a mountain, the other attended school for more than 12 years). For the first time in a very long time, I felt a little closer to you over the last 24 hours, and I’m incredibly thankful for that. Greetings on Father’s Day. I will always miss you. –Mikaela Shiffrin

As the most successful alpine skier in history, Shiffrin has earned an honorary degree from an Ivy League university, adding to her long list of achievements. Congratulations! Mikaela
