Manchester United are looking to strengthen their attacking options this summer.

Manchester United are still in talks with Brentford about signing forward Bryan Mbeumo, with transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano stating that a deal is still possible.

United’s second proposal of up to £62.5 million was rejected by the Bees on Friday. £55 million of total was paid upfront, with a further £7.5 million in add-ons. The overall bid was the same as the Red Devils spent for Matheus Cunha, but because the player has a £62.5 million release clause in his contract, the entire amount will be paid, whereas the offer for Mbeumo was only a guaranteed £55 million.

Earlier this month, Manchester United’s original approach of £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons was rejected. The club is still considering a deal for Mbeumo, who is interested in joining United.

Newcastle United, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur have all expressed interest in the youngster, although he has stated that he desires a move to the Red Devils.

Fabrizio Romano delivers an update on Manchester United’s pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo.

Romano confirmed on his YouTube channel that Manchester United and Brentford are still in talks to sign Mbeumo, despite their last bid being rejected.

“There were constant discussions between the two teams to strike an agreement for Bryan Mbeumo. “There is still no here we go, but may United continue to work on it, advance, and maintain their confidence and optimism in making the deal happen.” So Manchester United is making a big bid for Bryan Mbeumo, and the sentiment is once again positive.

“So don’t forget the Bryan Mbeumo deal for the next days, for the next week also, because may United will be pushing and pushing again to get it over the line, and so the here we go is still a strong possibility for Bryan Mbeumo as a new Manchester United player.”

Manchester United lead the chase for Bryan Mbeumo, while Brentford want £78 million.

As previously stated, a number of United’s Premier League opponents have shown an interest in Mbeumo. Despite the fact that United will not be able to offer European football next season, the attacker wishes to move to Old Trafford.

Along with Cunha, the attacking midfielder has the potential to change United’s goal-scoring record. The two combined for 35 league goals last season, nine fewer than the whole Red Devils squad in the Premier League.

Newcastle and Arsenal can give Mbeumo Champions League football, and Tottenham can do the same after winning the Europa League. Tottenham have also named Thomas Frank as manager, which would have allowed Mbeumo to rapidly return with the coach under whom he has achieved success in the Premier League.

According to reports in Spain, Brentford wants £78 million to sell Mbeumo, although an upfront sum of around £60 million may suffice. United’s most recent up-front bid is around £5 million less than that sum.
