Nedum Onuoha says he doesn’t want to see a ‘great’ player leave Manchester City now

Manchester City fans may see numerous club legends go in the coming weeks.

The Premier League club is reducing Pep Guardiola’s roster size for the upcoming season due to his preference for a smaller group of players.

Ilkay Gundogan could depart Manchester City before the transfer window closes, while John Stones’ future is uncertain due to physical difficulties in the past year.

Former Manchester City star Nedum Onuoha expressed concern over one of the club’s legends potentially leaving the Etihad Stadium.

Nedum Onuoha does not want to see Ederson leave Manchester City.

Galatasaray is looking to sign Ederson before the 25/26 season begins next month. The Brazilian is thought to have accepted personal terms with the Turkish club.

Man City plans to sign Burnley’s James Trafford after agreeing on a transfer fee. The deal might be completed within a week or two.

Onuoha opposes Ederson’s departure from City, citing the beneficial impact he makes to Guardiola’s team.

I like Ederson, you know. I think some people properly point out some of the mistakes and everything he’s made, but I believe what he’s altered while he’s been at Manchester City is that he’s transformed the way they’ve played football,” the expert told ESPN FC.

“He’s changed the way they launch strikes. You know, this guy has five or six Premier League assists, whatever the number is.

“Someone that people don’t want to press because they know how good he is with the ball. And I believe James Trafford can be a superb shot-stopper. However, I believe that City’s ball-handling ability can sometimes define the team.

“And, while he may make mistakes from time to time, the benefits far exceed the drawbacks for me. So I’ve been reluctant to see him go. If James Trafford takes over, the goal is to continue the legacy.

Steve Nicol disagrees with Onuoha’s ideas, and currently, Manchester City fans support the former Liverpool defender.

Steve Nicol believes Ederson makes too many mistakes.

Ederson’s performance in Manchester City’s FIFA Club World Cup defeat to Al-Hilal has led to speculation that he could leave the club this summer.

Nicol disagreed with Onuoha’s desire to keep the Brazil international for another season, claiming that Ederson might have helped Manchester City more last season by making some key saves.

“I find that unusual. We are talking about passing here. We are talking about passing here. “What are goalkeepers there for?” Nicol stated.

“Right, to save the ball. When was the last time Ederson made a big save that altered everything? All of those absurd games in which they were leading, often by two or three goals, and then gave it all up.

“If Ederson had made some saves, they could have avoided all that.”
