Lions star sends scathing four-word message to Ben Johnson
Although the NFL season has begun, the Detroit Lions are already facing challenges. The team’s poor performance against the Green Bay Packers on September 7 raises concerns about their potential strength in the 2025-26 season.
Don’t be too concerned about the Lions’ 13-27 loss to the Packers as it’s still early. The Lions will face former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson’s new team, the Chicago Bears, on Sunday, September 14, at Ford Field.
It’s fantastic that the Lions will have home field advantage for this game, but they’ll need to be on top of their game to win it. Despite losing to the Vikings on Monday, September 8, Johnson’s team, led by quarterback Caleb Williams, appeared good. Now, one Lions star has a message for Johnson ahead of the highly anticipated game.
Detroit Lions player has a not-so-nice message for Ben Johnson.
To remain a contender in the NFC North, the Detroit Lions must defeat the Chicago Bears this weekend. According to Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown, the team is prepared for an exciting contest.
On his “St. Brown Podcast” on Monday, September 8, St. Brown discussed the upcoming match. Johnson should feel shivers down his spine.
His four-word message to Johnson was, “We’re all booing him.” Ouch. However, St. Brown is a good guy, so it’s possible that it was partially in joke.
For context, he stated, “Week 2 is going to be so wild. I promise you. It’s going to be so exciting. But as soon as Ben (Johnson) gets in, we boo him. I don’t care. “We are all booing him.”
During a guest appearance on the show, Chicago Bears receiver Rome Odunze stated, “He (Ben Johnson) said it’s going to be lit, I’m not going to lie.” And I’m ready for it.”
Johnson guided Detroit to a top-ranked offence in 2024, and after the season ended, the Chicago Bears hired Johnson to replace Matt Eberflus as their new head coach. Let’s cross our fingers that the Lions can pull it off.
Detroit Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell Discusses Bears Game
Campbell is also prepared for this battle. “This is the same thing. In a conference on Monday, September 8, Campbell stated, “He knows what we’re about and we know what he’s about, so you’re going to play that game a little bit.” “But the game is meaningless if you don’t master the basics within it. That’s what we need to return to. We have to care about ourselves right now and focus on the small things.”
It’s funny that he emphasises the fundamentals, because the Lions should already have them down. However, the truth is that they don’t, at least not yet. In any case, Campbell says the team will be ready this weekend, so Johnson should keep an eye out.
“We’re going in and preparing to play Chicago. “We’re going to win this game,” Campbell declared. “We need to. We must find a means to clean up and carry out our responsibilities. And they’ll try to do the same thing every week.”
So the Detroit Lions are preparing to meet Johnson and the Bears. Let’s cross our fingers that they can pull it off.
