Casemiro says Manchester United “will do everything possible” to keep midfielder despite Al Nassr bid
Manchester United may struggle to maintain one of their great midfielders.
Kobbie Mainoo’s unclear future at Old Trafford has sparked a lot of speculation, with the Englishman battling for consistent game time under Ruben Amorim. Several Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in signing him.
United’s midfield could undergo a big overhaul in the coming months, since Mainoo isn’t the only midfielder considering his options.
Al-Nassr considers signing Casemiro.
Casemiro has entered the final year of his contract at Manchester United, having moved from Madrid in 2022. There is an option to extend his contract by another year, but the Brazilian has yet to make a definitive choice.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Casemiro is being “tempted by lucrative offers”. Al-Nassr is among the clubs interested in signing him.
It is understood that the Saudi Pro League club wants to reconnect him with Cristiano Ronaldo. They have shared locker rooms at both Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Al-Nassr is desperate to complete this transaction and would reportedly “spare no expense to make his dream a reality.”
Manchester United want Casemiro to stay.
Casemiro turned down opportunities to leave United in the summer as he wants to play at the greatest level moving into the 2026 World Cup.
However, next summer could be an excellent opportunity for the 33-year-old to take on a fresh challenge and explore a new league.
Meanwhile, United wants to keep him at the club. According to reports, the Premier League’s top clubs “will do everything possible” to keep “one of their best players.”
Amorim unexpectedly chose Manuel Ugarte over Casemiro against Manchester City.
Still, the Brazil international is widely regarded as his first candidate to partner Bruno Fernandes in the double pivot.
