Caitlin Clark Still Hitting Game Winners
By Qwame Skinner
The WNBA has missed Caitlin Clark.
Injuries limited the Fever star to just a handful of appearances during the 2025 season, forcing her to miss most of Indiana’s playoff run—including the WNBA semifinals. Clark previously opened up about how difficult it was to watch from the sidelines.

“It’s hard, because obviously I do feel this responsibility of being out there and playing,” Clark said on WNBA legend Sue Bird’s Bird’s Eye View podcast, via Awful Announcing.
“And not that I think there’s a fear of any of this going away. That doesn’t happen when like, LeBron or Steph get hurt. [Fans] are always going to be there,” Clark added. “But you do want to play. You want to give people something to cheer about or scream about.
“People spend so much time, and money, and resources to come and watch you play. And it’s been cool to see people continue to show up for my teammates—whether they’re fans of the Fever or just fans of myself.”
Back in Action
Fortunately for Clark and basketball fans everywhere, she’s back.
In December, Clark returned to the court at Team USA’s first training camp as preparations began for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers. While the camp has since wrapped up, Clark continues to sharpen her game ahead of the upcoming WNBA season.

A clip making the rounds online shows the former Rookie of the Year knocking down a game-winning shot during a scrimmage at the Fever’s practice facility—an encouraging sign for anyone who’s followed her recovery.
Clark looks healthy, confident, and ready to return to All-Pro form. If she can stay on the floor in 2026, there’s little reason to doubt Indiana’s ceiling. The Fever came within one overtime period of reaching the Finals without her last season. With Clark back in the lineup, a Finals run feels well within reach.
