That means there is still plenty of time for movement involving clubs across the Scottish Premiership, with several sides continuing to work behind the scenes on potential arrivals and departures.

Celtic have been particularly active during the last 24 hours, but the champions are not expected to be the only Scottish club involved in late transfer business.

Rangers, Hearts, Hibs and other clubs are also assessing their options as they look to finalise their squads before the window shuts.

Reo Hatate’s four-year spell with Celtic has come to an end after the Japanese midfielder completed a late move to Burnley during the closing stages of the English transfer window.
