Ryan Jack “offered” the club a transfer to Kemar Roofe after he left the Rangers
The Rangers’ decision to terminate the contracts of Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe this summer was expected.
Although both players have performed well for the team when given the chance, their three seasons of terrible injury runs have rendered new contracts for both players unfeasible.
It is unfortunate because Ryan Jack, a Scotland international, rose to prominence as one of the team’s best midfield players in recent years under Steven Gerrard’s guidance.
The Rangers have been hampered for years by the scenario involving Kevin Roofe, a gifted, merciless, technical striker with skill levels above those of Scotland.
Not to be ironic.
There have been updates on two of the five players who were cut go when their Rangers contracts expired as they attempt to rebuild their careers.
“Offered” by Jack to European club
Ryan Jack, 32, may have been expected to settle down in Scotland after spending seven years with Rangers.
But maybe wearing the colours of another club in Scotland this summer would be too much after Jack shared an emotional farewell message on Instagram.
In any event, it’s fascinating to note that Jack’s name has surfaced in Belgian football, as Standard Liege is said to have made an approach for the former Rangers player.
But regardless of any offering, DH Net claims that the Belgian team has rejected the chance to recruit Ryan Jack.
Although we don’t know what this means for Ryan Jack’s future, it’s intriguing to see the midfield player being offered on the continent, and it may be an exciting move for him to make next.
As always, maintaining fitness will be the challenge.
Former Rangers striker is shortlisted in Turkey
Another player looking for a new team is Kemar Roofe, who left Rangers this summer.
The £4.5 million deal for the striker is laced with anguish because injury issues have severely limited his ability to play for Rangers in recent seasons.
The former Leeds forward was a truly gifted player for Rangers, but over the past few years, the Ibrox club has suffered both locally and internationally due to Roofe’s inability to stay fit.
There are now rumours that Roofe is going to travel to Turkey with Borna Barisic and John Lundstram.
Although the two German players relocated to Trabzonspor, there are rumours that Roofe is a target for Sivasspor, a rival team in the Super Lig.
Fanatik reports that the Turkish team is considering including Kemar on their roster for the upcoming campaign.
Rangers might replicate Sakala’s mistake by offloading the £22k-per-week star
After the 2023–24 season, the Glasgow Rangers underwent a number of notable changes as a result of their failure to win the Scottish Premiership.
The Ibrox giants have already missed three seasons of divisional victories, and as their local rivals have taken home the last three titles, they will be hatching plans to make amends the next season.
Since the summer transfer market officially opened for business last month, Rangers’ head of recruitment, Nils Koppen, has been hard at work adding players to the roster.
After the Gers decided to let go players Jon McLaughlin, John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Kemar Roofe, and Ryan Jack when their contracts expired at the end of May, signings became necessary.
To strengthen the team, Hamza Igamane, Oscar Cortes, Connor Barron, Clinton Nsiala, Jefte, Liam Kelly, and Mohammed Diomande have all arrived.
It is possible that additional players will leave Ibrox in order to make room and financial resources available for new arrivals before the summer transfer market closes at the end of August.
Rangers’ playmaker might leave Ibrox
Todd Cantwell, an offensive midfielder, is one of the players that might be moved in the upcoming weeks if a bid is made, according to Football Scotland.
According to the source, the English prodigy, along with Kieran Dowell and Tom Lawrence, is not untouchable in Glasgow, and the team appears willing to cash in on him for the proper price.
It does not, however, indicate whether the former Norwich City playmaker is attracting any serious interest or how much the Light Blues would be willing to pay for his talents.
This occurs soon after his agent, Jose Enrique, made an incredible error. The former Liverpool defender, in an apparent attempt to present his client to Lecce coach Luca Gotti, posted a message to the ‘Luca Gotti reacts’ fan page on Instagram, which was subsequently circulated on social media.
The Scottish Sun reported that Cantwell’s status at Ibrox was being watched by Al-Qadsiah, a Saudi Pro League team. Cantwell has also been linked to a move to this team.
🗣️ “It looks spectacular but I think he’ll even admit after the game that it was a cross.”

The Saudi Arabian team, who are also interested in signing James Tavernier, may or may not be prepared to submit a formal offer to acquire the master of the Light Blues.
All of these rumours and occurrences, nevertheless, seem to point to Cantwell leaving Glasgow this summer. That may be a howler, similar to the one Michael Beale made with Fashion Sakala the previous summer.
Rangers’ Sakala howler in fashion
Prior to the 2023–24 season, former Rangers manager Beale made the mistake of trying to cash in on the Zambian international. The English manager was promptly fired after the window closed.
For Steven Gerrard, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, and Beale combined, the adaptable attacker scored 24 goals and provided 15 assists in 91 games across all competitions during his two seasons at Ibrox.
Sakala scored 12 goals and provided 8 assists in 29 Scottish Premiership games during the 2022–2023 season, an outstanding yield of 20 direct goal contributions in just 29 games.
After that, Beale made the disastrous decision to cash in on the speedster by selling him to Al-Fayha of the Saudi Pro League for an alleged £4 million.
🗣️ “They will say it doesn’t really matter…but it always matters on derby day in Glasgow!”

The only Rangers player to record more than five assists in the Premiership last season was James Tavernier (ten), while the only players to record more than seven goals were Tavernier (17), Cyriel Dessers (16), and Abdallah Sima (11).
This indicates that Sakala’s return of 20 goals and assists from the previous campaign would have only been surpassed by Tavernier’s 27 goal contributions, indicating that the Light Blues missed his quality in the closing third.
With 23 goals and 23 assists in 31 league games, the Zambian prodigy continued his stellar play at the top of the pitch with his new team, as the table above shows.
Sakala, who has scored 22 goals and provided nine assists in 41 games for Al-Fayha, has demonstrated to Rangers what they have been lacking since his departure from Ibrox, according to these figures.
Why the Rangers shouldn’t use Todd Cantwell as a cash cow
Rangers shouldn’t cash in on Cantwell since they won’t be able to match his calibre, having learned their lesson from their gaffe with the Saudi Pro League player.
As seen by his statistics since joining from Norwich at the beginning of the previous season, the 26-year-old wizard is a proven performer in the Premiership who can both score and create goals.
Cantwell arrived in Glasgow during the January transfer window of 2023 and had an immediate impact, scoring six goals, providing four assists, and creating five “big chances” in 16 league games.
Following that, the former England U21 international scored seven goals and provided five assists in 24 Premiership starts during the 2023–2024 season, playing for Beale and Philippe Clement.
Cantwell was one of the team’s finest, if not the best, midfield players when it came to creating opportunities in the final third, as the table above illustrates.
The £22k-per-week wizard, who Micah Richards of ESPN called a “real star” at Ibrox, has shown he is a fantastic option for the team in an offensive midfield role because of his remarkable goal-scoring and goal-creating ability.
Rangers would be selling a player with a track record of excellence in the Premiership, similar to Sakala, with no assurance that he would be able to replace or surpass that.
They were unable to match the attacking production that the Zambian international brought to the flanks, and they now need to stay close to Cantwell this summer to prevent making the same mistakes.
As the final part of the £2 million audition starts, the failed Beale transfer could come back as a shock for the Gers
Jose Cifuentes was one of the big names that Michael Beale brought to Rangers during a very expensive summer of hiring last year.
Rangers finally closed a deal to sign the 25-year-old Ecuadorean World Cup star at the start of August 2023. It was one of the longest-running stories of the window.
Several news sources say Rangers paid around £1 million to get Jose Cifuentes from MLS team LAFC.
But Jose Cifuentes didn’t do well in Glasgow, despite all the excitement around the deal at first. In January, he was sent on loan to Cruzeiro in Brazil.
The player has been on loan to Belo Horizonte for a year, and things haven’t gone so well there either.
The player went back to Brazil after the Copa America because Cruzeiro has a possible £2 million option to buy him.
And Jose is quickly running out of time to make a case for making the move permanent.
Cifuentes has yet to explain why he should move to Cruzeiro for £2 million.
Because Ecuador is in the Copa America, Jose Cifuentes has missed eight Serie A games in Brazil.
In the end, though, the player never even got off the bench because his country was eliminated on penalties by the hosts, Argentina, in the quarterfinals.
The midfielder’s plans for the past year have not come true.
It wasn’t clear that Cifuentes would be a good fit at Cruzeiro before he went to the US for the Copa America.
Cifuentes has only started one league game for the Brazilians since coming there in January. The Rangers loanee has spent most of his time in the Copa Sudamericana and the Campeonato Mineiro on the bench.
Now, the Brazilian newspaper O Tempo has revealed that the Ecuadorean is back training at Cruzeiro as he tries to show why Rangers should give him the loan option.
As things stand, things don’t look good. Jose Cifuentes has only played 179 minutes in 18 games under boss Fernando Seabra.
That’s not even 10 minutes a game.
Rangers’ return is possible
Another problem that came up because of Michael Beale’s expensive trade window last summer is the one with Jose Cifuentes.
The former Ibrox assistant was given a £21 million transfer budget and told to put together a team that could win the title, but the Englishman had trouble getting the team to work together.
After a brief comeback under new manager Philippe Clement, the legs gave out in the last few games of the season, and the rest is sadly history.
The fact that some people have said bad things about all of the club’s expensive summer signings is interesting.
Danilo was the most expensive player, reportedly £6 million, and was hurt for most of the season.
A lot of people are looking forward to Danilo’s return from illness before the new season.
Sam Lammers is the only player from the club’s Dutch training camp who isn’t there. The Gers are apparently ready to lose £1m on the striker.
Cyriel Dessers is also said to be leaving for £4.5 million. The striker was passive-aggressively followed by some Rangers fans last season.
When you add in the failed move of Jose Cifuentes, it’s clear that last summer’s window did not live up to hope.
And the problem with the Ecuadorean might not go away in Brazil either.
He is set to return to Rangers in January if the ex-MLS star can’t get his act together at Cruzeiro.
Cifuentes just signed a deal last summer for £11,000 a week until 2027.
Rangers join fresh arrivals on pre-season training, travel off to the Netherlands with departure related star still in the fold
Connor Barron is spotted as the Rangers squad leaves Glasgow Airport.
Rangers are back at work heading off for a pre-season training camp to the Netherlands.
Disappointingly, Philippe Clement’s men dropped out of the championship race and suffered a heartbreaking last gasp loss in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic last season. This season’s pressure is on us to grab the title back from the Hoops with cup victory desired by the supporters. The Champions League qualifiers are another minor issue.
Clement is supporting Holland for some intense training before pre-season friendlies against Birmingham City, Union Berlin, and Manchester United to have his squad in the finest shape possible for fighting on three fronts. The Belgian has been changing his lineup this season, and on Sunday Glasgow Airport showed pictures of fresh faces including Jefte, Connor Barron, and Clinton Nsiala. Just as important, though, were the more known faces travelling on the jet.
Transfer news LIVE as Celtic and Rangers plus Aberdeen FC, Hearts and Hibs eye deals
Agent of Ianis Hagi tells Rangers he is ready to pay for transfer exit, but he declines to close Ibrox door.
Though he was among the touring group, Scott Wright has been firmly connected with a move to Sheffield Wednesday. Another person who has been praised for an exit together with Connor Goldson is James Tavernier, former Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard eager to send the two to Saudi Arabia.
Both travelled, as did Todd Cantwell. Just eighteen months after he came in Govan, it has been said that gers are eager to hear bids for Cantwell this summer. As the Light Blues performers left Glasgow, Record Sport features the best of the pictures.
Philling in the voids
Just a year after Michael Beale attempted and failed with his quest to assemble a title winning group last year, Clement has started a rebuild for Rangers. This is the first summer in command for Belgium; a string start last October gives hope that he can make a better start to his first full season instead of his predecessor did.

Clint in his eye
Though will be expected to deliver when called upon, Clinton Nsiala’s arrival from AC Milan is one of the less reported acquisitions and one for the future at 20 years old.

The Wright call is here.
Given scant starts and Sheffield Wednesday apparently interested, Wright’s Ibrox future is still uncertain. Last summer he turned down a trip to Turkey; his participation in the travelling party implies no deal with the owls is not forthcoming. During the transfer window, though, things can change rapidly.

The Wright request?
Given scant starts and Sheffield Wednesday apparently interested, Wright’s Ibrox future is still uncertain. Last summer he turned down a trip to Turkey; his participation in the travelling party implies no deal with the owls is not forthcoming. But things change rapidly during the transfer window.
Unknown desistancy
Although he had a good goal return in his first season, the huge no 9 has failed to persuade in a Rangers shirt. Reported interest from France, Spain, and Saudi Arabia might give Gers an opportunity to recover the £4.5 million they paid for him a year ago. Given Hamza Igamane is untested and Danilo missed much of last season due to injury, BUt it could be a gamble.

Leaving aboard a Jefte jet
After efforts to bring him in during January failed, the Brazilian left back is at last a Rangers player. Borna Barisic left for Trabzonspor, thus he will fight it out with Ridvan Yilmaz for a spot in the starting XI.

And the Oscar goes also too.
Before injury stopped his Gers season, the Colombian wide player was playing an outstanding game. Seeing what Cortes has to offer from Lens and extending his loan from Lens excites fans since it was a calculated action from the club instead of purchasing him outright yet yet.
Not on His Todd
From the arrival of the Belgian, Cantwell and Clement have had problems. While fans grew tired of the midfielder’s inability to read the room with some end of season social media tweets, quickfire subs and less than joyful reactions were moved on from quite fast. Though he can still help at Ibrox, his leaving might not be the biggest shock.

The testimonial year exam for Tav
We might be arriving at the Ibrox end game; the long serving right back a captain is generally in the firing line. Although the skipper’s goal is to finish his Gers career with another league title in his testimonial year, a major money reunion with Stev en Gerrard in Saudi Arabia still awaits.

Captain Jack:
Should Tavernier depart, Butland is the first pick for the ambrad, as exclusively reported by Record Sport. With Butland essential to Clement’s objectives, England’s interest looks to have been blocked for now. Not the worst strategy to guarantee he stays put either would be pushing him into a leadership post.
McGowan talks about getting Rangers to stay at Ibrox in August; some fans should be paid for this
Stephen McGowan has brought up the idea that Rangers might play their home games in August at a smaller Ibrox.
In its print version [5 July, page 120], the Scottish Daily Mail said that playing with only three stands at Ibrox is now “appealing.”
If this were to happen, the 8,000 fans who were stuck outside without a way to get to their seats would be paid.
It looked fun to play at Ibrox with three empty stands, but it was also a problem.
“Somehow, the 8,000 fans who were kicked out of the games and forced to leave their seats should be compensated.” In fact, it wouldn’t help the already tense situation between the club and its fans.
“A problem doesn’t have a good answer, so manager Clement has another problem to solve.”
Why the Rangers might start the season at Ibrox
It was said last month that the Gers wouldn’t be starting the season at home because the Copland Road stand was taking too long to be built.
Things are so bad that the project manager for the work was fired because of it [Scottish Sun, 20 June].
People have said that Philippe Clement’s team could play their first games of the season at Hampden Park or Murrayfield [Scottish Sun, 20 June].
The first one was recently thought to be the most likely, but the ground isn’t in the best shape since American singer Pink just held a show there.
This has made it unclear where the Gers will likely start the season, which has caused both the club and the fans to have doubts.
There is a mood at Ibrox that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. A venue that is only three quarters full, on the other hand, might be a better bet than Murrayfield or Hampden Park that is full.
Rangers ‘eager’ to rekindle interest in speedster who ‘might play for Real Madrid or Barcelona’
Rangers have already had various names connected this summer, some more speculative than others, as Philippe Clement prepares to face the Champions League qualifiers.
The manager’s squad is in poor form, but with Nils Koppen managing the recruitment process, he has some support to complete the task.
Soccernet reports that new names have appeared alongside some famous faces, like Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who was first connected with Rangers.
According to a Nigerian sports media outlet, Rangers are looking recruit a player who has flourished since changing positions and is currently a colleague of former Ibrox star Ryan Kent.
Rangers been linked with Bright Osayi-Samuel again.
Rangers had intended to sign Bright Osayi-Samuel on a pre-contract agreement two seasons ago, but his future at Fenerbache is unknown, putting him back on the market.
Osayi-Samuel, a converted winger, has previously been the subject of conjecture, with the player outlining his future plans:
“My current plan is to wait and see,” says Osayi-Samuel on Football Live.
“Everyone in Turkey knows that I want to play in the Premier League one day. And if all goes as planned this summer, I should be able to join the appropriate club.
“But, that’s down to my agent and my father who are discussing with the clubs, that’s all I can say for now.”
Former Turkey international suggested he may play for Real Madrid or Barcelona, but now Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing the 26-year-old.

Can Rangers get a bargain in Osayi-Samuel?
Osayi-Samuel would attract a transfer fee, with his QPR value reaching £5 million at one time.
Fenerbahce is willing to let the right-back leave for a “bargain fee,” according to writer Alan Nixon.
James Tavernier is the obvious elephant in the room, but Dujon Sterling is also a strong force, despite Rangers fans rarely seeing him in his favoured position.
Rangers need full-backs who can play in the last third and contribute to attacks, and Osayi-Samuel, a former winger with oodles of pace and athleticism, fits the bill.
If the skipper’s anticipated move to Saudi Arabia goes through, Fenerbache’s utility man could be on the move as well.
With Philippe Clement’s need for quality on the right wing, it wouldn’t hurt to bring in Osayi-Samuel.
A long-term deal worth twice as much as Tavernier’s pay is signed by a Rangers target, which is bad news for Clement
According to a new report this week, a player the Rangers really wanted to sign has now signed with another club on a deal worth double captain James Tavernier’s pay.
Rangers news about transfers
Ibrox has had a great start to the summer transfer window. French manager Philippe Clement has already added a lot of new players. This includes players like Jeffe, Mohamed Diomande, and Liam Kelly. Oscar Cortes has also earned another season on loan from Lens, even though he has been hurt a lot since joining in January.
It looks like Rangers’ summer business isn’t over yet, though, as reports about possible new players coming in over the next few months keep spreading.
Ryan Sessegnon, who used to play for Tottenham but is now at Crystal Palace, has been linked with a move to Ibrox this summer. The Englishman is thought to be the best person to bring out the best in Rabbi Matondo.
Porternier is one of the players who could leave Ibrox this summer. He is expected to end his legendary time at the club and join up with former boss Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq. He may not be able to refuse a “astronomical” deal that has been made to him.
Why Rangers didn’t get the “wonderful” goal
A new report from The Athletic says that Rangers missed out on getting former West Ham player Ben Johnson because he wanted too much money. Instead, he went to play for newly promoted Premier League team Ipswich Town.
The Englishman now makes £60,000 a week at Portman Road, double Tavernier’s salary of £30,000 a week. He is the second-highest paid player at Ibrox right now, after Connor Goldson, who makes £37,000.
Rangers should have signed Johnson to replace the captain because he would have been a great all-around player who could have played right back, centre back, or in the middle of the field.
Stuart Pearce has also been a big fan over the years. “He’s a wonderful professional to deal with and work with,” he said at one point. We’re proud to have him as a player who isn’t from our school, which is a big plus for us since the academy has ties to this club.
“I think he’s just developing and getting better and better, and like with all young players, the more game time they have, the better they’ll get, so I am delighted for the boy.”
This news is worrisome for Rangers, though, because it shows how much wages vary between the Premier League and the Scottish Premiership.
For the Gers, being able to give a player £60,000 a week is like a pipe dream. He has signed a four-year deal with Ipswich, which will cost them a huge £12.5 million, so they will have to look for cheaper options going forward.
Rangers are hit by a “Ibrox disaster,” and stars are running for the door
Rangers are in a lot of trouble this summer because of all the problems that have been building up around Ibrox.
In an interview with Football Insider’s Inside Track show on June 28, Scottish expert and reporter Daniel Bowers said this.
The club had hoped to finish fixing up parts of the stadium, especially the Copland Road Stand, but getting the materials on time has been slow, and there have been other problems as well. Ibrox probably won’t be ready for the 2024–25 season.
Bowers calls the situation a “disaster” for Rangers, saying that many problems have been building up that make it very hard to get the stadium ready for games in the UK and in the Champions League group rounds.
Former Aberdeen manager Keith Wyness called the Gers board “disgraceful” for how they’ve handled things so far only on Thursday, June 27, in an interview with Football Insider.
Rangers are having a lot of trouble at Ibrox
Bowers says that things are getting worse and that the Rangers can’t afford to deal with this “shambles.”
The football team’s marketing staff, led by Philippe Clement, have a huge job to do this summer: they need to rebuild the whole team.
According to Bowers, there are worries about money and the risk that players won’t feel safe at the club without a set schedule, which could lead some to leave.
Following the end of last season, fan sentiment at Ibrox is at a “all-time low.” However, the club needs to quickly address a wildfire problem so that it doesn’t have a major negative effect on 2024–25 playing season.
A pre-season game against Manchester United at Murrayfield, 48 miles away, on July 20 has made it clear where the Light Blues will play football soon.
Chris Jack: Rangers player has no chance under Clement; Ibrox exit in the summer being talked about
Chris Jack says that Ianis Hagi won’t be back at Rangers, even though he played very well for Romania against Slovakia in Euro 2024.
It was a 1-1 draw on June 26 that put Romania in the round of 16. The 25-year-old started the game, and both experts and players thought he earned a second chance at Ibrox.
Even though Jack, a reporter for Rangers Review, thought Hagi played well for his country, he doesn’t think the creative midfielder is good enough to get back into Philippe Clement’s team.
In an interview with the Rangers Review YouTube station on June 27, he said, “I don’t think he has a Rangers future. Unfortunately for Ianis, I think that ship has sailed for him.”
“I don’t think Hagi has a great summer, then comes back for pre-season, wowed the manager, and then made the team.” He’s not energetic or quick enough, in my opinion.
I don’t think he fits in with Philippe Clement’s team, so I think it’s best for him and the club if he leaves. In my opinion, that’s good for Rangers if it happens at the end of a Euros run that has been good for Romania, which it has been so far.
“They do need to make as much money as possible from these sales.” As Ianis Hagi plays in the Euros, it’s time for him to show off his skills. People will always be interested in the Hagi name. Clubs will be interested in you because you have a shirt with Hagi 10 on the back of it, which has its own charm.
“The loan didn’t work out the way he wanted it to, which would have made him less valuable. The Gers would have seen this and thought, ‘We’re not going to get much money for this guy.'” Right now, Romania is riding high and on top of the wave.
“Who knows what will happen after that if Ianis can do his job in the next game.”
When the summer transfer window opens again after the new Euro 2024 update, will Rangers sell Ianis Hagi?
Even though the summer transfer window is still young, Clement and his team at Ibrox have quickly put together a team that can close the gap on Celtic at the top of the table by adding a number of new players.
Also, a lot of players have already left, but more needs to be done because players like Sam Lammers, Kieran Dowell, and Tom Lawrence are all likely to be sold before the start of next season.
Philippe Clement is on the hunt for new players at Rangers this summer
Hagi proved this summer that he can still play at the top level, but Clement wants to get rid of the extra players on his team. That probably wasn’t enough to get the Belgian to give Hagi another chance.
It will be possible for the Gers to get him this summer, and the price will only go up as Romania moves further in the event. He doesn’t seem to have a future at Ibrox, no matter what.
‘Disgraceful,’ Keith Wyness rips up the Rangers board as the ‘Full Ibrox Story’ comes out
Keith Wyness, who used to be the manager of Aberdeen, said that the Rangers board is a “disgrace” for how they are running the rebuilding at Ibrox.
According to the 66-year-old, who was CEO of Aberdeen from 2000 to 2004, Everton and Aston Villa for long periods of time, and now runs a football consulting business that helps top clubs, the story may involve a lot more than just a delay in getting building materials. He said this on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.
Rangers stated last week (20 June) that they might not be able to start the new season at Ibrox because of delays in shipping.
Due to the delays, redevelopment work on the Copland Stand will take longer than planned. This could affect August league and Champions League games.
The Glasgow giants told fans that they are “working intensively to make sure that all steps are taken to deliver the project at the earliest possible date” and that they would send supporters another progress report soon.
Wyness says the chaos at Ibrox is “disgraceful” for Rangers
Ranger’s complaints about Dundee’s situation near the end of the 2023–24 season made Wyness angry.
He said on the Insider Track show from Football Insider, “Disgraceful is the word.”
It looks like there was a lot more going on than just a delay in supplies. The full story is about to come out.
“From the board’s point of view, this is a disgrace. I worked on a lot of stadium projects, some of the biggest infrastructure projects in Glasgow.”
“There was always going to be a risk when supplies came in from other countries. That goes on your risk register.”
“If you remember from last year, Rangers were upset that Dundee couldn’t play on their pitch because it was so wet.”
“They made a lot of noise, and now Rangers’ pitch isn’t playable.”
Pundit told Rangers to take the “£5m” offer after an Ibrox source made the news today
Rangers should take a possible “£5 million” offer for Tom Lawrence and put the money back into Philippe Clement’s team.
This is what former Gers and Scotland defender Alan Hutton told Football Insider about the 30-year-old player, saying that his fitness is “an issue” for Clement’s team.
Lawrence’s contract at Ibrox ends in just one year, and he has been linked with Ipswich Town, Sheffield United, and some of the best teams in Turkey.
Football Insider has learned that the Rangers are ready to get rid of Lawrence this summer and use the money to buy new players.
In 32 games across all competitions in 2023–24, the Wales international scored three goals and set up three others.
Only 16 of those games were as a starter, because injuries kept him from playing much during the season.
Rangers were told to sell Lawrence because of his injuries.
Hutton said he “likes” Lawrence as a player, but he also said that the money from selling him could be used to make the Ibrox team even better.
“If they can get up to £5 million for him, I would accept it,” he told Football Insider.
“He scored three goals last season and just turned 30.”
“I like how he plays and what he gives you.” He’s great as a ten, but he can also play wide if needed.
“Clement has shown that he can play defence too.”
“But I worry about the injuries, and I keep hearing these rumours, whether they’re about Ipswich, Sheffield United, or someone else.”
Rangers would take that kind of money if it could be found.
“They already have players in those spots, but they want to get stronger.”
“He might need to go so that other people can come in, and £5 million could be a good offer.”
Sam Allardyce on how Ally McCoist is “going crazy” over Celtic players Scots’ mistake will shock Hoops fans
Celtic fans have had a strange time this summer at the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.
Fans will be thrilled to see their heroes play against some of the best players in the world, but they will also be harsh if Scotland loses and any Celtic players are to blame.
We’ve already seen this in action. In the first game of the tournament, Scotland lost 5-1 to Germany. Despite the fact that the whole team did poorly, Calum McGregor was singled out for criticism.
One of Celtic’s players got more bad press after the 1-1 draw with Switzerland. It was pointed out that Anthony Ralston was let down by Grant Hanley’s bad passing, which led to his mistake that let Shaqiri score a stunning equaliser. However, Ralston was blamed for it anyway.
So we can all see that there is a pattern that shows up whenever people say bad things about the Scotland team.
And this fight is still going strong. Sam Allardyce has revealed why Ally McCoist was so angry about Ralston’s mistake, and Celtic fans probably wouldn’t believe it.
McCoist wanted Anthony Ralston to get “help.”
Ralston was blamed by some Scotland fans, but McCoist was “going crazy” because he could see that the Celtic defender needed help on the right flank.
Sam Allardyce, a former manager in the Premier League, explains why.
It was nice to see Allardyce say, “To see Scotland bounce back with a bit of fight.” So the one that hit the post and then Grant Hanley’s header that went wide at the other end.
“So it could have gone either way, but in the end a draw is a fair result.”
“Do you know what the fullback’s name was who passed the ball to him (1981)?” He must still be dreaming about that.
“It was driving Ally McCoist crazy.” “Help him out.” Help him out. Help him out.
“Because not helping him out enough, he was spending too much time alone, and it was hard for him to deal with him.”
It looks like most people agree that Ralston’s teammates let him down before the goal. No less than Ally McCoist.
The Celtic defender did get back on track after making the mistake, and Andy Robertson, Scotland’s captain, praised him for doing so. He then played well in the second half.
The first time in Scotland’s history, they have never made it out of the group stages of a competition. Let’s hope he can do it again tonight and help them beat Hungary.
Rangers’ goalkeeper officially ends his loan exit
Ranger’s teen custodian Jacob Pazikas will be leaving on loan to join Stranraer this summer.
The club’s Rangers B & Academy tweeted on June 21 that the 19-year-old had joined the Scottish team for the next season.
Pazikas hasn’t played for the Light Blues yet as a senior player. He spent last season on loan with the Civil Service Strollers in the Lowland League, where he made 23 appearances and kept seven clean sheets.
Since he left, he can’t play for the first team anymore, since Jon McLaughlin has already left and Robby McCrorie has turned down a contract extension at Ibrox [Daily Record, 4 June].
You can expect Robby McCrorie and Jack Butland to leave the Rangers this summer.
While Pazikas’ loan isn’t a big surprise in and of itself, it comes during a transfer window that has already seen one custodian leave permanently (McLaughlin), and three more could leave in some way before the summer is over.
McCrorie, who is 26, has spent his whole senior career with the Light Blues. However, he has only played seven times for the first team due to numerous loans, so he needs to leave if Philippe Clement is not going to make him his first choice.
As long as star player Jack Butland stays in Glasgow, there will only be one person at the top of the list. However, rumours have been going around for a long time that big-money offers could come in for the former Crystal Palace player.
Alan Nixon wrote on May 28 that there doesn’t seem to be a market for him to go back to the Premier League, and Clement will hope that stays the case.
Jake Pazikas, a young player for the Light Blues, has gone on loan to Stranraer.
#RangersFC can today confirm Jacob Pazikas has joined Stranraer on a season-long loan.

We expect Liam Kelly to come back to Ibrox as the main backup after leaving Motherwell [Sky Sports, June 18], but we don’t know who will fill the third spot yet.
Kieran Wright might be the next most obvious choice, but at 25 years old and having never played for the club, he is in a similar situation to McCrorie and has been tipped to leave [Rangers Review, 5 June].
Unless Clement and Nils Koppen sign another custodian to go with Kelly, they will probably bring someone up from the academy, but it looks like Pazikas won’t be that person.
Rangers will be “offered” the chance to use Hampden as the SFA steps in to help with their temporary move out of Ibrox
The pitch will be moved to the National Stadium, but a new report says that won’t be a problem.
According to one report, the SFA is willing to let Rangers use Hampden to help them with their schedule. The pitch at the National Stadium WON’T be a problem, either.
The Ibrox team said on Thursday that they are looking at other options since their home field will probably be closed for the first month of the 2024–25 season because of delays in improving the Copland Road stand. Immediately after that, an SFA spokesperson said that they would be happy to sit down with them and help them find a solution.
At first, it looked like playing at Hampden was the best option, but soon after, news came out that the National Stadium would be closed for work on the pitch. But now the Daily Mail says that won’t be a problem and that Rangers can play at Hampden. That’s because the Hampden pitch will be fixed up after Pink plays there on June 28 and 29. However, it will be ready for the start of next season.
And they say the SFA is “willing” to let the Ibrox club use it for a short time. Although that would be a good way for Philippe Clement to prepare, it would have to work with Queen’s Park’s schedule, since the Hampden-based team is currently back playing at their long-term home.
There have been no talks about a short-term lease, but the governing body is willing to have them. Murrayfield is another option, since Rangers is playing Manchester United there on July 20. However, Scottish Rugby has not yet said if that could become a long-term plan.
Rangers could also play their first few games away from home and then switch things around later in the season when Ibrox is ready. But it’s said that’s not even considered as an option.
Van Bronckhorst “plans a transfer” for a Rangers player he signed at Ibrox
A report says that Giovanni van Bronckhorst could go back to his old team Rangers to sign Ridvan Yilmaz for Besiktas.
This month, the Dutchman was named manager of the Super Lig club, and plans have already been made to make transfers.
One player that could be sent is Ridvan, who Van Bronckhorst signed from Besiktas to Rangers.
Report from Turkiye Gazetesi Betis will try to sign the full-back if Arthur Masuaku leaves the club this summer.
The newspaper says Nantes wants the former West Ham defender and is ready to make a better offer than their previous €2m offer.
It is now “certain” that Masuaku will leave, which means Van Bronckhorst could try to sign Ridvan from Rangers.
It’s thought that the Dutch manager has given the go-ahead to try to make a deal with Rangers for the left back if Masuaku’s transfer goes through in the next few days.
Transfer rumours about Ridvan’s future come after the player said he wouldn’t be leaving Rangers because he was committed to staying there.
“Rangers is where I want to be right now, and there are no plans for me to leave,” he said.
“I am enjoying my break with my family here and I will return to Scotland in time for the pre-season training camp soon.”
Rangers officials are said to want to keep the defender and have no plans to start the new season without him at Ibrox.
The defender is still happy at Ibrox and isn’t being actively sought after by other teams. However, every player has a price, and Ridvan would have to get an offer that was too good to refuse in order to leave this summer.
Turkish news sources say that any money made from Masuaku’s departure could be used to sign Ridvan.
Clement might get the next Rangers signed Kris Boyd at Ibrox for £5 million because he was “gifted” to the team
Rangers might try to sign a player who is playing for his country at Euro 2024.
It’s no secret that Glasgow Rangers need a real goal scorer badly if they want to get back to the top of Scottish football.
Many people have come to Glasgow with a lot of expectations, but they haven’t been able to really get going at Ibrox.
Player names like Cedric Itten, Antonio Colak, and most recently Cyriel Dessers have not really stood out as ones who could score 30 or more goals a season.
Yes, Colak scored 18 goals and Dessers scored 22 goals in their single seasons with the Light Blues, but Philippe Clement needs someone like Kris Boyd.
The former Scotland player wasn’t the most flexible, quick, or even strong, but there was only one thing that could happen when the ball dropped to his feet in the box. The goal.
Rangers stats for Kris Boyd
As he was just starting out at Kilmarnock, the striker was already making a name for himself.
Boyd became famous over the next four and a half seasons, scoring 67 goals for the Ayrshire team and becoming one of the best strikers in the country. He made his debut in the last game of the 2000–01 season, taking over for Ally McCoist.
The Gers were having a bad season in the middle of the 2005–06 season. It was Alex McLeish’s last year as manager of the club.
🗣 “I look now and think ‘where’s this grey hair come from?!'”

— Sky Sports Scotland (@ScotlandSky) November 7, 2021
In December of that year, he was able to get Boyd to leave Kilmarnock, and he would pay back every penny over the next four years.
He scored a hat-trick on his debut, which was a bad sign. He ended the second half of the season with 20 goals for the Light Blues, and it looked like the club had finally found a Scottish player to replace Super Ally.
Boyd scored 127 goals in just 190 games during his first spell at the club, but he wasn’t always in Walter Smith’s starting lineup. He left for Middlesbrough in 2010.
Rangers hasn’t had a player like him since he left. Could things change in the next few weeks? It is said that Clement is interested in a player who was recently picked to play for Scotland at the 2024 European Championships.
An English striker is on Rangers’ summer wish list.
Rangers are interested in signing Bristol City striker Tommy Conway, according to the Daily Record last week. They will make an offer for the striker if he ends his contract in the next year.
Since talks about a new deal haven’t led to anything in the last few weeks, the Light Blues could sign him on a pre-contract in January.
If the club wants to get a good price for the kid, the Bristol Post says they might even listen to offers for him this summer. This could give Clement a lot of reasons to make a deal with the centre forward.
According to sports commentator Tom Sandy, City should be able to get around £5 million for him this summer. If Rangers don’t sell a few players, this could be a problem.
Frank Conway was called up by Steve Clarke to join the national team in Germany because Lyndon Dykes got hurt before the tournament. However, he didn’t play off the bench against the host country in the 5-1 loss.
If the club is able to bring Conway north of the border, could they sign Boyd 2.0? Time will tell.
The numbers for Tommy Conway’s season
Conway made a big splash in the 2022–23 season, when he scored nine goals in 34 Championship games for City and three more in the EFL Cup.
It looked like this pushed the 21-year-old to the next level of his game, as he was great all season long last year.
Ten more goals in the English second division were impressive, but it was his play against West Ham United in the FA Cup that really got people talking.
The striker was praised by Statman Dave as “clinical” after he scored the game-winning goal that sent City through over the Hammers.
Conway is a great striker who not only scores goals but also great at passing the ball, which isn’t something that usually comes with that style of play. Conway has an impressive pass success rate of 82.2% per 90, which puts him in the top 1% of his positional peers in the men’s next 14 competitions. This means that his vision and passing skills often help other players.
Steve Evans called him a “gifted boy” in 2023, and it’s clear that Conway has a bright future ahead of him, especially when you look at the teams that want to sign him this summer.
The Scot had the most goals and assists among his teammates in the Championship last season. He also had the most shots on target per game (0.7) and the second most scoring frequency (a goal every 230 minutes), showing how good he was at scoring goals.

There’s no doubt that he’s not perfect yet, but Clement wants to sign players who can really improve after moving to Ibrox.
Jefte and Oscar Cortes, two new players signed this summer, are still young and have a lot to learn, but the Belgian could help them grow into players who can make the Light Blues a huge profit in the future.
If he plays in a league where he can score a lot of goals, it will boost his confidence a lot. The Gers might finally find their heir to Boyd.
Clement can try to get him by making an offer this summer, or he can wait until January and take a chance by waiting until the player signs a pre-contract agreement.
No matter what happens, Conway is a striker who keeps getting better, and if Rangers don’t sign him, another great player could get away.
NOT SO FAST Rangers lose a key player in the transfer market because they are “set to pen new deal” with a huge release clause
This summer, he’s not going anywhere.
Sad to hear that Damian Garcia, a midfielder wanted by Rangers from Uruguay, is going to sign a better new deal.
We were the first to report this morning that the Gers are moving forward with their pursuit of Aberdeen star Connor Barron as a midfielder.
But we told you that Garcia, a 20-year-old midfielder who plays for Penarol in his home country, was looking for a cheap deal because his contract was up in December.
Garcia was Penarol’s best player when they won the under-20 Copa Libertadores in 2022. He also played in all seven games at the under-20 World Cup in 2023, where Uruguay won the title.
But it’s not likely that he’ll be at Ibrox any time soon. Several sources in Uruguay say that he’s about to sign a hugely improved contract that will stop him from moving ANYWHERE this summer.
The release clause is a huge £7.8m if he does decide to move in January or the summer of 2019.
Probably for the foreseeable future, that will make it impossible for the Ibrox team to get him.
It is said that the deal was made in Mexico by sporting director Ignacio Ruglio and owner Edgardo Lasalvia.
In a tweet on X, journalist Dario Alberti said, “Tomorrow, Damián García’s contract with Peñarol will be renewed until December 2026.”
“There will be a pay rise for the player and a US$10,000,000 exit clause.”
“Ruglio and Lasalvia closed it on their trip to Mexico.”
Barron, who is 21 years old, is still being scouted by teams in Italy and England. Cagliari is the team from Serie A that is most interested in him.
Rangers have announced that FIVE of their stars will be leaving Ibrox. Philippe Clement is leaving the team after more than 700 games.
But Gers want to get him because they already have Jefte, Oscar Cortes, and Clinton Nsiala this summer.
It’s been said that Barron took a short vacation in Portugal. He could fly back for a medical and to talk about a new contract.
Aberdeen should get something in return for a player who came up through the ranks at Pittodrie.
“Absolutely Livid” is how a pundit reacts to it after a Rangers player linked to the exit makes Clement very angry
After a rough second season with the Rangers, Derek Ferguson said that Todd Cantwell should cut down on some of his “antics.”
Sky Sports (13 June) reports that Philippe Clement could sell the English player this summer if the right offer comes in. He played very well under Michael Beale after joining in January.
Cantwell, 26, had a rough start under the Belgian when he was substituted early in the first half. The season also didn’t end well when Clement was seen pushing the midfielder away from a disagreement with officials during the loss to Celtic in the Scottish Cup final.
Ferguson thinks that the ex-Norwich player’s bad behaviour hasn’t helped him in Scotland. He says that his rivalries with Celtic players—Greg Taylor and Alistair Johnston made fun of him online after the cup final—have only made the other team stronger.
The ex-Gers midfielder told Ibrox News exclusively, “He seems to have a few feuds going with some of the Celtic boys, and I think that just gives them motivation.”
“The manager reacted badly to him, and he’s very angry with him.”
“It might just be How Todd Is. I don’t know the boy from the park, but I bet he’s a nice kid.”
“But that does happen to players sometimes when they cross that white line. They can’t handle certain situations or someone is teasing them and they give in.”
“I think that’s Todd.” He might want to cut his hair short and take off the headband. He should also stop yelling at the other team and just score.
“I like him as a football player, but I wish he would stop acting so silly.”
The Celtic wars haven’t made things better. Rangers’ Todd Cantwell
Michael Beale signed Todd Cantwell for Rangers and saw the best of him two seasons ago
The Rangers got Todd Cantwell from Michael Beale, who saw his best two years ago.
A year ago, Cantwell had just played a key role in the Light Blues’ only league Old Firm win. He looked like a good choice to build the team around as Michael Beale changed things around.
The fact that the old manager is no longer in charge and that the same job has been given to his replacement already shows how well that went.
When the midfielder is at his best, his extras are probably worth putting up with, but when he’s not playing well, they get more and more annoying.
Cantwell has never really impressed Clement in the middle, where he likes to play, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he accepted a bid during the transfer window.
Rangers to accept big money offer ‘too good to turn down’ for exit-linked defender, according to report
The Rangers Review says that the team might be tempted to take an offer for Ridvan Yilmaz.
The online news source said on June 13 that the Gers are not actively trying to sell the left back in order to make room for summer transfers.
Things might change, though, if the right offer comes along.
It costs money to keep Yilmaz at the club. Philippe Clement wants to spend the rest of his career with the 23-year-old, but that could change if the club gets an offer they “couldn’t refuse.”
Philippe Clement will want to keep Ridvan Yilmaz at Rangers.
This summer, Clement will try to keep Yilmaz.
The defender did a great job for the Belgian until March, when he got hurt and couldn’t play anymore. The fact that the Gers’ form dropped in April and May shows how Yilmaz changed the team.
He has been hurt a lot during his two seasons with the team, but the Rangers Review says that the Gers are sure that those problems will be fixed during pre-season.
If the club keeps Yilmaz, they will have two very good left-back options now that Jefte is there.
That depth could be very important for Clement’s team next season as they try to take the Scottish Premiership away from Celtic.
There have been rumours that Yilmaz might leave the club. On June 10, the Turkish newspaper Sabah said that Besiktas had made an offer to re-sign the player.
Yilmaz’s agent, Necdet Ergezen, told Gokmen Ozcan on June 10 that the player has no plans to go back to Turkey right now, which suggests he would be willing to stay at Ibrox.
Rangers to shell out £7.7m to seal new deal
Rangers want to sign Damian Garcia for £7.7 million.
It looks like Rangers will have to pay around £7.7 million to get Penarol midfielder Damian Garcia.
Ibrox wanted to sign the 20-year-old player, according to a report from Football Scotland on June 5th. It is likely that Nils Koppen had talks to sign him in Cancun.
But if Gers still want to sign him this summer, things will be harder because Dario Alberti says he will sign a new deal that lasts until 2026.
The reporter for Sport 890 said that they would add a £7.7 million release clause to the deal to protect their own interests.
In a tweet, Alberti said, “Tomorrow, Damián García’s contract with Peñarol will be renewed until December 2026.” Their pay will go up, and they can leave for a US$10,000,000 fee. It was over for Ruglio and Lasalvia on their trip to Mexico.
Rangers aren’t likely to spend a lot of money on Damian Garcia.
Garcia is only 20 years old, so he hasn’t shown much talent yet, especially outside of Uruguay.
He has shown promise in his home country, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be able to do the same in a more competitive league like the Scottish Premiership.
Garcia has also not yet made a big name for himself on the international stage.
Even though he played well in the under-20 World Cup, the demands of senior club football are very different from playing youth international football.
Rangers would be taking a big risk by putting that much money into a player who hasn’t played much yet.
Trying to get Damian Garcia doesn’t fit with the Rangers’ plan for making transfers.
Gers should instead focus on talented people who have already been around for a while.
The club doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on transfers, and it would be a waste to spend a lot of it on a player who is still learning the game.
There are probably cheaper options that can help the first team right away.
🚨 ATENCIÓN: Mañana se firmará la renovación del contrato de Damián García con Peñarol hasta diciembre de 2026. El jugador tendrá un aumento salarial y una cláusula de salida de U$S 10.000.000.

One more thing that needs to be thought about is Philippe Clement’s suggestions. If he can’t take the club to the next level, he will be held accountable.
Ibrox view: Rangers are getting close to deciding whether to bring back Abdallah Sima, and Brighton is about to set a record-setting goal score
Since Brighton is about to hire a new manager, Abdallah Sima will soon know if his future includes going back to Rangers.
The Senegalese forward was a great addition to Glasgow’s team last season. He scored 16 goals across all competitions while mostly playing off the left wing, even though he was hurt for three months from January to April.
That return is a big part of how many goals Michael Beale and Philippe Clement scored last season, which makes a deal to keep him at Ibrox appealing if it works out financially.
There have been several public statements by Sima saying that he would like to stay at Rangers if an agreement can be reached between the two clubs.
Rangers Review said on June 6 that he probably wouldn’t be told about his future until Brighton hired a new manager. They fired Roberto De Zerbi at the end of the season, and now they’re about to do that.
Fabian Hurzeler will take over for Roberto De Zerbi at the Amex
Sky Sports reported on June 9 that the Seagulls had gotten Fabian Hurzeler, the manager of St. Pauli, a work permit. If he takes over at the Amex, the 31-year-old will become the youngest Premier League manager ever.
After a day, Fabrizio Romano said that the German is likely to sign a deal down south in the next 48 hours, while talks on a compensation deal for the record-breaking move continue.
It’s clear that what Hurzeler plans to do with Sima will have a big impact on the 22-year-old’s future. If the coach doesn’t see him in the plans for next season, it would make it more likely that he comes back to the Rangers.
The wide player hasn’t played for his parent club yet because he moved to the Light Blues after loans at Stoke City and Angers.
Derek Ferguson of Ibrox News, on the other hand, isn’t sure if the club can afford to sign Sima to a permanent deal because he thinks it would cost eight figures.
It would cost a lot to sign Rangers for good.
Because they bought him for £6 million from Slavia Prague in 2021, the Seagulls probably won’t want to let him go for free. However, The Athletic reported at the time of the original deal that there was thought to be an option for an extra year.
If Hurzeler doesn’t think Sima is ready to play in the Premier League, and the player has made it clear that he feels at home at Rangers, Brighton could choose to exercise his contract option and let him come back on a second loan deal, unless they get a better offer from somewhere else.
As a result, the English club is almost certain to get a new manager, which will be a big step towards Sima finding out where he will play next season.
