The recruitment guru Nils Koppen’s explanation of what the Rangers desire in transfers supports two important arguments made by Clement
The Belgian has a list of players that he believes some of the top clubs should be keeping an eye on.
Nils Koppen, the emboldened recruiter for Rangers, has disclosed that his staff would closely monitor Scottish potential and strive to develop their exceptional abilities for the world’s largest teams.
The Belgian outlined his goals for Ibrox in terms of both inward and outbound players during his presentation of his vision at the club’s most recent fan advisory board meeting, the minutes of which were made public on Tuesday. Additionally, former PV signing expert Koppen reiterated a crucial assertion made by Philippe Clement regarding the goal of trying to sell their best players to the top five European clubs.
Mohammed Diomande, who joined for £4.3 million from Nordsjaelland, was supposed to play at a higher level than Scottish football, according to Clement’s prior statement. Furthermore, Koppen’s intention to keep a watch on things closer to home has been validated by the addition of Liam Kelly and Connor Barron this summer. Athleticism at the top of the club’s wishlist and being seen as robust are other important factors for acquisitions.
Rangers recruiter Nils Koppen’s plan
- High technical excellence and athleticism are our top priorities.
- Gamers must be strong, dependable, and laser-focused.
- identified the main areas in which we may succeed and increased our presence in unexplored (but still competitive) markets
- A keen eye for the Scottish market and talent
- Hold onto our top Academy talent.
- Give young athletes additional opportunities and help them grow by making greater use of our “platform.”
- Purchase at the proper cost and sell at the ideal time
- Hire athletes who have the potential to advance to the Big Five league.
- improved contract administration
- The team is looking for winners that are strong and able to handle a lot of games and stress. Scottish gaming
The club’s long injury list from the previous season irritated Clement, who was shocked by the number of players he was left without in a season where they ran out of steam and watched Brendan Rodgers’ team storm to the double. This further demonstrated the need for robustness.
Based on most recent exit statistics, reported £7 million Rangers transfer currently aimed for Premier League
Some supporters of Ryan Kent might have assumed he was leaving Rangers for more ambitious projects.
Ryan Kent would have hoped to leave a lasting impact in Turkey with a money spinning free-contract move to Fenerbahce at a period of intense investment in Istanbul.
But things never quite came out as expected, as they so often do for British footballers heading to the Super Lig.
Lack of opportunities and a stunning lack of form have added to Turkey’s poor season under Ryan Kent’s guidance of Jose Mourinho’s uncertain future is under question.
One Premier League team could be about to provide the former Rangers attacker an English reprieve and the opportunity to restart his career based on sources that the winger is possibly ready to leave Fenerbahce this window.
Kent positioned himself alongside Premier League teams.
This summer Ipswich Town has been active with changes aimed at overhauling their team.
From the Championship last season, the Tractor Boys gained Premier League promotion; they have not wasted any time shattering their transfer record.
From Chelsea, the Omari Hutchison has arrived in a £20 million record transfer.
Rangers’ connected Not long after West Ham United dismissed him, Ben Johnson started following him.
Now, at least according to one local newspaper, ex- Liverpool winger Ryan Kent might be the newest player joining Kieran McKenna’s aspirational team.
Darren Witcoop claims Kent is currently “exploring his options” and will be leaving Fenerbahce this summer.
Ryan Kent poised to leave Turkish club Fenerbahce this summer. Exploring all options. Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna a big fan of the ex-Glasgow Rangers winger. Two Championship clubs also very much in the mix. #itfc
— Darren Witcoop (@DarrenOWitcoop) July 7, 2024
Ipswich Town is one of them; Kieran McKenna is a “big fan” of the £7m former Rangers winger.
Two unidentified Championship teams are reportedly mentioned as expressing interest in returning Kent to England.
Rangers coming together at Tractor Boys?
Arguably, Ryan Kent is the most technically skilled player Rangers has had in recent years.
Signed under Steven Gerrard, there is a reason the Ibrox team broke the budget to acquire the gifted dribbler even if Kent’s last season left a lot to be desired.
A continual thorn in Celtic’s side, the winger was instrumental in that run to the Europa League Final but struggled to switch it on when things were tight.
Rangers depending too much on the winger suffered from unpredictable returns; Kent only scored three goals in his last Glasgow season, which finally cost the team.
Another bad move in retrospect was failing to cash in when the now 27-year-old’s stock was greatest amid £15m interest from Leeds United.
Kent has only made 18 Fenerbahce appearances last season and one domestic game for the Turks in 2024.
Clearly a gifted football player, might a transfer to Ipswich Town and the Premier League bring back the stuttering career of a former Ibrox hero?
Any route to Portman Road would also see Ryan Kent connect with an ex-Ibrox colleague.
Although leaving rumours abound, for now ex-Gers star George Edmundson is part of Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich team.
Neil Lennon reveals mounting Rangers transfer confidence, as Lundstram dumps beans on Ibrox exodus secret agent
Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon in Bucharest has complimented Albion Rrahmani for silence the Rangers ruckus.
during Rapid, Lennon is preparing for his debut season in charge and has identified Ibrox target Rrahmani as one of his top players during their pre-season camp. Last season the striker made an outstanding 19 goals in 30 games; he has been tracker for Gers, Sparta Prague, and Bologna. He is, however, entirely focused on the prize in the interim; his club is not rushing to sell him as they are flying to Slovenia for pre-season training.
On Thursday, the Romanian team defeated Maribor 4-0 and kicked off their league season against UTA Arad this coming weekend. Ex-Celtic manager Lennon has thus far been happy with the attitude of his star hitman: “I am really pleased with Albion. I still hope he will continue with Rapid for still another season. Though the press are talking about him and everyone is observing him, his demeanour was excellent.”
Elsewhere former Rangers player John Lundstram stated he owed thanks for his transfer to Trabzonspor to Rıdvan Yılmaz, his Ibrox defender. And the midfielder feels he has already adapted to his Turkish new life.
Along with fellow former Rangers player Borna Barisic in what is most likely a Europa League second qualifying round fixture at the end of this month, Lundstram answered questions during Trabzonspor’s pre-season training camp in Hungary as he gets ready to make his debut.
And the thirty-year-old had no questions; he knew he had to leave Ibrox and go to Turkish football.
“I spoke to Rıdvan Yılmaz and he told me how kindly everyone here would treat me,” he stated. Everyone I met in Trabzon greeted me friendingly. Everybody here is really courteous and friendly. My performances should help me to pay them back.
“My interaction with the manager during negotiations with the club really stayed with me. We discussed his preferred style and the city as well as the club’s past. After that, it was a style I preferred and making such decisions was not difficult. We have a really fantastic squad here, thus I will attempt to contribute with my own talent to support the team.
“Just how huge Trabzonspor are surprised me most of all. And I also sought for a fresh challenge myself personally. Having my family with me aids.”
Rangers club news: Cantwell is “targeted” by James Bisgrove for a raid in Saudi Arabia, and Sima hints at a return
Cantwell might be going to Saudi Arabia because Bisgrove, the former head of Ibrox, is interested in him.
According to reports, Saudi Pro League team Al-Qadsiah wants to sign Rangers player Todd Cantwell. Former Ibrox manager James Bisgrove is also interested in making an Ibrox raid.
The playmaker was involved in a strange mix-up involving former Liverpool star Jose Enrique. He moved to Lecce on Wednesday, but a new story says they are really interested in the former Norwich City player.According to The Scottish Sun, Bisgrove, who used to be CEO of Light Blues, wants the 26-year-old to move to the Middle East. If the right offer comes in, he should be able to leave Rangers this summer.
The Saudi Pro League club is also thought to be interested in James Tavernier, the Rangers captain, who could leave this summer. Steven Gerrard’s team, Al-Ettifaq, has also been mentioned with Tavernier and Goldson, who has been a teammate for a long time. That’s all we have to say about it for now. But once the Euros and Copa America are over, there will be a rush to get things done in the late summer.
Somewhere elseOn social media, Abdallah Sima gave Ibrox a sign that there might be “more to come” about his future. This could be taken in two different ways. Last season, the winger scored 16 goals in 40 games for the Light Blues. He would have scored even more if he hadn’t hurt himself in the middle of the season.
Sima shared a video on Instagram of his best times playing for the Rangers. He wrote, “23/24 one to never forget.” There will be more.
Some Gers fans see this as the end of the story, but new sources say that Philippe Clement’s team may be able to get the 23-year-old on a permanent deal because Brighton is willing to lower their £8 million asking price for a player in the last year of his contract. “More to come” makes it sound like the story isn’t over.
Rangers target player waves goodbye to club overnight, he is now ready to join Rangers
It looks like Hamza Igamane said goodbye to AS FAR before moving to Rangers.
The forward went on Instagram on July 3 and wrote a touching message to his club after the Gers agreed to sign the 21-year-old [TEAMtalk, July 2].
Igamane’s post finished with “Thank you for everything,” which pretty much confirms that he will be leaving.
The scorer is going to sign a five-year deal after a deal was reached for £2.5 million to bring him to the club.
What can Hamza Igamane do for the Rangers next year?
To this point in the summer window, Rangers have already gone through some big changes.
Ryan Jack and Borna Barisic are two players who have left Ibrox, while five players have come in.
The front line was one place where Philippe Clement hadn’t added any weapons yet. Abdallah Sima, who was on loan to the club, left at the end of the season, and Cyriel Dessers’ future is still unknown.
As with the other new players, Igamane will be the first number nine to join the team. He is also fairly young, but he could help lead the line next season.
Cyriel Dessers could leave Rangers this summer
He is 21 years old and plays in Morocco’s top league. He has had a great couple of seasons.
To show how good he is at finishing, the striker scored 16 goals in the Botola Pro 1 League between the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons.
So far, most of the new players the Gers have brought in are young, but it shows that the club is planning for the future.
Rangers to sign the “Wonderkid” after the “Shock” move was confirmed
After Arsenal finally let go of the young player Reuell Walters, Rangers can now make a move to sign him.
The club confirmed that the young right back left on July 1, even though he had been in talks for a new deal when many other players were free to leave (Standard, June 3).
Ibrox is interested in the 19-year-old, but on June 4, the Daily Record said that the club would not sign anyone for the role unless they could get rid of someone first.
But there is more talk that James Tavernier, a longtime starter and record-setting club captain, might leave because Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq [Daily Record, 24 April] and Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Besiktas [Bulent Uzlu, 9 June] are interested in him.
After leaving Arsenal, Reuell Walters is now open for Rangers.
Arsenal has announced that Reuell Walters has left the team. He was linked to Rangers.
All the best, Amario and Reuell ❤️
Thank you for everything and good luck for the future 👊
— Arsenal Academy (@ArsenalAcademy) July 1, 2024
If the experienced Englishman does leave, his young countryman Walters can now be signed for free, though a settlement fee is likely to be paid.
It comes as a surprise that the teenager is now available. When the news came out on July 1, The Sun called the release of the “wonderkid” a “shock” move.
It is currently thought that Dujon Sterling, a free agent who came from a London-based Premier League giant, will take over at right back [Rangers Review, 17 June].
This summer, James Tavernier might leave Ibrox.
But the former Chelsea player has already shown Philippe Clement how useful he is in so many places during his first season in Glasgow that he could be used somewhere else.
It has been called a “shock” that the young Gunners player left.

— The Sun Football ⚽ (@TheSunFootball) July 1, 2024
Since injuries have been so common at Ibrox in recent years, Tavernier is one of the few players who hasn’t been hurt. This makes back-up almost useless, but it would be risky to move forward without cover.
It has already been said that the captain of the Gers has agreed to leave for the Saudi Pro League [The Gallant Few, 19 June], but the club has not yet agreed to the deal.
That being said, if it does happen, the Light Blues now have a chance to get a bright young replacement for a low price. He would join players like Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron, and Oscar Cortes who have already joined this summer.
Midfielder linked to Rangers has already made it clear how he feels about playing in Scottish football
Reports about this Rangers target’s future keep going around.
After a disappointing group stage, Scotland is out of Euro 2024. The players can now go back to their teams and get ready for pre-season there. Or, for some, keep the possibility of a move during the summer transfer window in mind.
Recently, a number of Scotland stars have been in the news because other teams are interested in signing them. Right now, teams in the Scottish Premiership are fighting with each other, but teams from England, other parts of Europe, and even further away are also paying attention.
After a great season with Hearts, Lawrence Shankland is in high demand. This season, the Jambos striker scored 31 goals and set up eight others across all categories. Also, Saudi Arabia is still interested in signing Rangers captain James Tavernier, and Steven Gerrard, who used to lead the Gers, wants to get back together with the defender at Al-Ettifaq.
Another player who is mentioned with a return to the Scottish Premiership is Kenny McLean. Rangers are “working on a deal” to sign the 32-year-old. Recent news from Football Insider said that the Ibrox team could make McLean captain right away if they sign him and Tavernier decides to leave for the Saudi Pro League.
Early this month, it was reported that the Light Blues were in “preliminary talks” with Norwich City about signing McLean. His current deal ends in 2026. The midfielder is likely to demand a fee of around £1 million, and FI writer Daniel Bowers thinks that Philippe Clement and his team could offer the captaincy as an added bonus if Tavernier leaves.
McLean joined Norwich from Aberdeen in 2018 and has been there for six years. The midfielder, who was born in Rutherglen, started out as a youth player with the Dons and Rangers. He then moved to St. Mirren to start his adult career.
McLean has spent most of his life in England, but he says that Scottish football has helped him become the player he is now. The 32-year-old talked about his career on an episode of the SPFL’s Scotland Scrapbook. Rangers are still interested in him and he could return to them.
“It really changed me into the person I am now.” It gave me a lot of opportunities and a way to move up in my work. It’s clear that I’ve worked as a lawyer in the SPFL.I loved playing in the SPFL. I even went back to Arbroath when we were in League 1, but we were relegated that year.
“It brought out the best in me and set me up to move down south and play in the Championship and the Premier League.” It really changed me into the person I am now. It gave me a lot of opportunities and a way to move up in my work.
When the Canaries played in the Championship last year, McLean didn’t miss a single game and was captain for most of the season. He also scored two goals and set up five others across all categories, even though his main role was as a defensive midfielder.
Rangers’ transfer window is getting worse as Tom Lawrence’s deal is “prepared” and Ianis Hagi’s agent issues an ultimatum
Philippe Clement has been very harsh so far this summer as he changes the team.
Rangers are allegedly “preparing” to make a move for Rangers star Tom Lawrence as they continue to clear out their squad for the summer.
New manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst is in charge of the Turkish team. He is said to want to bring in players from his old club to make the team his own. Some teams are interested in captain James Tavernier, but it looks like they are stepping up their efforts to get the Welsh player that he signed for Rangers after leaving Derby County.
The 30-year-old still has one year left on his contract, but he has been hurt a lot since moving to the Scottish Premiership. He played 32 times last season, but Philippe Clement may move him on as he continues to change the team. At the end of their contracts, John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe, Borna Barisic, and Jon McLaughlin were all moved on. Meanwhile, players like Tavernier, Cyriel Dessers, Connor Goldson, and Todd Cantwell have been linked with an exit.
The Rangers’ player is said to be “preparing to make a move” by Kartal Haber. Things don’t look as simple when it comes to Ianis Hagi’s future, though.
In 2018, the player had a rough season on loan at La Liga team Alavaes. But he has put that behind him at Euro 2024. Many experts have given the Romanian player high marks after helping his country make it to the round of 16.
But Fanatik’s contact Giovanni Becali told him that his client will be at Ibrox for pre-season training when he gets back from Germany. He agreed that a loan might be the only choice because it would be “hard to find a buyer” for a player with a deal that lasts until the summer of 2026.
“He has a deal with Rangers,” Becali said. He will work there during the off-season, and then they will decide if they want to loan him. He signed a bigger deal. Getting someone to buy is hard. He needs stable things.
“That interest is real”…Rangers might be able to get a player for £4.5 million
Few people will be busier this summer than Nils Koppen, the recruitment head for Rangers. He is in charge of one of the biggest player turnovers since Dick Advocaat came to Glasgow.
Five players have already left, and as many as ten could leave in total. Philippe Clement has already signed four new players, and Hamza Igamane is said to be the fifth.
Rangers will need to bring in new players and sell old ones that could bring in money for new ones or who won’t be guaranteed to start. According to the most recent news on Cyriel Dessers, they will have no trouble finding buyers.
There are a lot of people who want Cyriel Dessers to leave the Rangers.
After the Scottish Cup semi-final loss to Hearts earlier this year, the boss gave an idea of why he might be ready to let go of the Nigerian born in Belgium:
“He’s too nice, both in real life and sometimes in duels.” Today was better. He was strong, kept the ball, and scored good goals. But he needs to work on being a better killer. You can see how far he’s come in just six months.
Dessers is a bit of a puzzle.
Last season, he helped set up 30 goals, which is more than acceptable. However, he missed too many big chances in big games.
There was no player in Scotland who missed more big chances.
Teams do need players who can score goals, though, and it looks like he’s done enough to get more than one team interested in signing him.
David Edgar said on the 26th of June’s Daily Update that Dessers is a star that people want:
“We talked about PAOK Salonika’s interest; that interest is real; they’ve talked about it in the Greek media. But a lot of other clubs are also after him.”
“He has options from teams in Italy—you may remember that he came to us from Cremonese—as well as options in Belgium and the Netherlands.”
“So, a number of clubs are interested in Cyriel Dessers.”
Today’s Update:
•Barron fee set to go to tribunal
•Captaincy situation explained
•Dessers latest— Heart & Hand Podcast (@ibroxrocks) June 26, 2024
Dessers’ sale could help the Rangers reach their goals.
Rangers paid over £4.5 million for Dessers, so anything close to that amount would be good so they can put the money back into the team.
Albion has been linked with Rrahmani for most of the summer, and Philippe Clement would benefit from having a younger, more energetic striker to play with Danilo and maybe Hamza Igamane.
Koopen needs to get good at this kind of business.
One out, one in, but make the team better at the same time.
Having as many clubs interested should help him do his job a little more.
As the Gers get ready for the Dutch to arrive after Clement’s plea, a leading journalist goes back on what they said
Philippe Clement made it clear that Rangers needed some help this summer.
The Belgian manager said that at the end of the season, even though he was a little stressed out from all the injuries and chaos at Ibrox.
We got the sense that Philippe Clement wasn’t fully aware of the mess Rangers was in when he took over in October.
Rangers are expected to add to their backroom staff, medical staff, and, of course, playing squad under the Belgian, who says that his job requires more “delegation.”
Now, Rangers are going to give Big Phil a Dutch helping hand before next season, which is different from what the same journalist said just a week ago.
Ulderink will be working with the Rangers.
It’s possible that not many Rangers fans know the name of Dutch coach Andries Ulderink.
Ulderink, on the other hand, is a well-known coach in the Netherlands. He has led several clubs in the country and most recently worked as Mark van Bommel’s assistant at Royal Antwerp.
Different news sources in the Netherlands earlier this summer said that Rangers wanted to sign Andries Ulderink before the start of the next season.
Now, the well-known Scottish football reporter Chris Jack has confirmed that Rangers are getting close to a deal.
Jack, who writes for the Rangers Review, says Ulderink is going to become an assistant manager for Philippe Clement.
The 54-year-old will work in the background with Stephan van der Heyden and Philippe Clement in the dugout. Stephan van der Heyden’s job as an assistant coach at Ibrox is not expected to change because of the move.
Ibrox mess in the backroom
It’s interesting that this move comes just one week after Chris Jack said Rangers played down a move for Andries Ulderink.
Jack said “it would be a surprise” if Ulderink joined Rangers after the club “quickly dismissed” the link earlier in the summer. He was confirming that former Ibrox midfielder Alex Rae would stay on as a member of the club’s backroom staff.
There were some bumps in the road along the way when trying to persuade Ulderink, and the club wanted to keep the approach a secret.
No matter what happens, it looks like the former Jong Ajax manager will be the latest Dutchman to join the team at Ibrox. It is well known that the Gers have ties to the Netherlands.
Along with Clement, Van der Heyden, Ulderink, and Rae, the Ibrox team has goalkeeping coach Colin Stewart, Brian Gilmour (who joined the club after Michael
Beale was fired), and Van der Heyden.
Report: Player was seen at Auchenhowie, and Rangers are expected to pay a £525,000 transfer fee
The Daily Record says that Connor Barron, who recently signed with Rangers, was seen at Auchenhowie after completing a permanent move to Ibrox.
The news source said on June 24 that Gers still have to pay Aberdeen a £525,000 fee unless they go to court and try their luck.
That’s because the Dons should get paid because the 21-year-old came up through their academy and played 76 times for the first team.
Connor Barron will want to make the Rangers first team all the time.
After moving from Aberdeen, the 21-year-old midfielder will be eager to make a name for himself as a regular member of the first team at Ibrox.
Because of his experience and skills, he could make a big difference right away in the next season.
Barron’s ability to switch between different midfield roles could be very helpful for Philippe Clement.
The midfielder’s first impressions in preseason training will be very important. To show Clement that he deserves a spot in the starting lineup, he will need to show off his technical skills, tactical knowledge, and physical fitness.
Barron has already played in the Scottish Premiership with Aberdeen, which will help him quickly get used to the demands of playing for a top team like Rangers.
Rangers signed Connor Barron on a free transfer
Additionally, Barron’s ability to grow even more with Clement’s help could be a big plus in his favour.
There will be sales of Ibrox stars after the player passes his medical to join Rangers, according to a report
The Scottish Sun says that Hamza Igamane passed a medical before Rangers made their official announcement that he would be joining the team at Ibrox.
On Saturday, June 22, the newspaper said on their website that Igamane, who is 21 years old, had agreed to join Govan on a five-year deal after leaving FAR Rabat in Morocco.
It is expected that he will be named Philippe Clement’s fifth summer signing within the next 48 hours. A fee of £2.5 million has already been agreed upon.
This summer, Jefte, Oscar Cortes, Clinton Nsiala, and Connor Barron have all already signed with Rangers. Also, Mohamed Diomande’s loan deal has been turned into a permanent one.
A lot of players could now leave Ibrox, according to The Scottish Sun. James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, and Todd Cantwell are all names that could be cut.
Who is Hamza Igamane, the new player that Rangers bought?
Igamane is not a player that Rangers fans would have known about before he was linked with a move to Ibrox this summer.
The 21-year-old is a striker who scored seven goals in 23 games across all competitions for FAR Rabat last season, helping them finish second in the Botola Pro, which is Morocco’s top league. He scored six goals in 18 league games in 2022–23, and his team won the title, making him the club’s youngest champion ever.
It’s clear that the Scottish Premiership is a step up from the Moroccan top flight, which is thought to be the best league in Africa. However, coming in having already won a title is a good thing. There are also some huge stadiums in Morocco that have very hostile atmospheres. Igamane will have been even better prepared for the Old Firm, which is like a pressure cooker.
Igamane has also won a lot of international games. With Morocco, he won the U23 African Cup of Nations.
There will definitely be a change in culture when I move from Rabat to Glasgow. Rabat is a city known for its scorching heat and beautiful architecture. But he has shown signs of being someone who has grown up in the country where he was born and is likely to cause trouble in Europe.
‘He’ll go to…’: A former teammate talks about what a £5 million Rangers target told him about the summer transfer period
Soon after signing Mohammed Diomande in January, Philippe Clement said that Ibrox might not be the end of the midfielder’s journey.
“Certainly (he can do better)” “Not just the next few weeks, but also the months and years,” Clement said of the Ivory Coast player who was brought in on loan from Nordsjaelland.”He’s a very good player, and I don’t think Rangers will be his last stop.”
„Of course, you need some luck with injuries to make it in this business. He will take bigger steps, though, if he stays away from that.
Would Albion Rrahmani join Diomande on the blue side of Glasgow? If so, could he also begin a journey that takes him to the top of the European game?
Rangers have kept Talks with Alboon Rrahmani
The Rapid Bucharest striker, who is worth £7 million, has a lot of drive and talent.
Rangers are said to have started talking two weeks ago. It is said that Director Nils Koppen met with Rrahmani’s agent in Mexico.
It looks more likely than not that the Romanian group will split up this summer. A number was given by Rapid co-owner Vincent Angelescu: the player with the most goals (19) was “80%” likely to have a new club by the start of next season.
Which club, though?
Rrahmani and Alexandru Albu played together at Rapid, but Albu didn’t say for sure where the Kosovo international would end up. But, like with Diomande, he thinks that Rrahmani could go beyond the level of the Scottish Premiership in the next few years.
“He is a valuable player, and it is hard for valuable players to stay in our championship,” Albu tells Orange Sport. “If he leaves, I’m sure he will go to a big team.”
“What the player decides is very important here, not just what the club decides, because the player also wants to prove that he is a great football player.” Rachanani wants to get as high as he can.
“He told me that he wants to get to a top team.” This means “top ten (in Europe)”
Rangers are also interested in Hamza Igamane.
In that case, Rangers might be a smart move in the right direction. After winning the Golden Boot with Ballkani in Kosovo and then being just as productive in Romania, Rrahmani’s skills would be seen by a lot more people if he played for Rangers in Europe.
That’s why Albu is sure that the 23-year-old poacher can do anything.
The player who left Rapid Bucharest at the end of last season says, “He is very good, and I think he can get to the top of the European game.” “But take it one step at a time.”
Sport Bull, a Romanian newspaper, says that Rangers think Rrahmani is worth £5 million. Rapid, on the other hand, want around £7 million. The real amount may be somewhere in the middle, though.
What the Rangers’ pursuit of Hamza Igamane means for that Rrahmani chase, on the other hand, is still unknown. The Daily Record says the RAF Rabat forward will cost less than £2 million. Will there be room at Ibrox for another number nine?
Even though Kemar Roofe has already left, Clement can use both Cyriel Dessers and Danilo. Will someone have to move to make room for two new people?
It’s not likely that Rangers will sign a “young player with enormous potential” to play with Clement again
Any hopes the Rangers still had of signing a player who won a championship in one of Europe’s major leagues last season went up in smoke on Wednesday.
Around the end of last year, Rangers’ pursuit of the 19-year-old midfielder seemed more and more likely to lead to a deal.
TEAMtalk says that the Glasgow giants were in the running for Noah Mbamba. He is a Belgium Under-21 player and used to work with Philippe Clement at Club Brugge in Belgium.
Also, it was Clement who gave Mbamba his first senior game when he was only 16. He even played against Manchester City in the Champions League, when most of his friends would have been thinking about high school and college.
According to Clement three years ago, “He shows a lot every day in training.”
You should be careful because he has worked hard. There is still a long way to go. I’ll do the same thing with him as I did with Charles De Ketelaere, who finally joined AC Milan for £30 million. Give him time to play and let him grow without expecting too much from him. We need to help him grow little by little.
Rangers will not be getting Noah Mbamba.
Leverkusen didn’t give him many chances to play for the first team, so joining Rangers and working with a coach he knew well seemed like the next best thing. But Rangers chose to sign Mohammed Diomande from Nordsjaelland instead in January of the next year.
It is now expected that the Glasgow giants will also sign Connor Barron, who is no longer under contract.
After the Mbamba rumours died down, Bundesliga newcomers Fortuna Dusseldorf jumped at the chance to sign the teenager for the 2024–25 season.
Mbamba only played three times during Leverkusen’s Bundesliga-winning season under Xabi Alonso. He will play for Fortuna on loan this season.
On the official website, Klaus Allofs, Board Member for Sport and Communication, talks about Fortuna’s new player as “a young player with enormous potential.” “We’re confident that he will do very well in our setting and quickly make our team stronger.”
“We had to take the chance to loan a player with this much talent, even though we don’t have the option to buy.”
Young star from Bayer Leverkusen goes on loan
Rangers have not come back for Mbamba, which may surprise some people. Even more so now that John Lundstram and Ryan Jack have left. Diomande had already shown that he was worthy of a permanent move to Ibrox, and Barron came with a track record in the Scottish game. It’s possible that a 19-year-old who had barely played any senior football in 2023–24 was seen as too much of a risk.
Fortuna, on the other hand, clearly thought that the possible benefits were greater than those worries.
Christian Weber, Fortuna’s sporting director, says, “With Noah, we’re getting a player who can play in a lot of different positions in the middle and who has great physical and football skills.”
“Because he is so good for Leverkusen, he has only been used occasionally lately.” Despite his youth, he has already shown his skill at the highest level. He should now take the next step in his development by practicing matches with us on a regular basis.
Rangers is also getting close to signing Liam Kelly, a former Motherwell custodian. Also, a striker is likely to come in. Albion Rrahmani from Rapid Bucharest and Hamza Igamame
from RAF Rabat are both being considered.
An insider says the Gers will be able to have their cake and eat it too, since Koppen is linked to two exciting strikers
When it comes to Rangers, strikers are like Glasgow buses.
After waiting a long time for one, two show up at once.
Fans of Rangers are hoping that this will happen because of the high-profile links to both Hamza Igamane and Albion Rrahmani.
Rangers are almost done with a £1.7 million deal to sign Hamza Igamane from FAR Rabat in Morocco. The news came out over the weekend.
This deal has Ibrox fans more and more excited as time has gone on and more clips have been watched. The player is thought to be one of the best young strikers in the world.
People worry that the deal has stopped people from wanting to hire Rapid Bucharest’s Kosovan hitman Albion Rrahmani.
The president of the Romanian club laughing a bid all the way out of Bucharest hasn’t helped this idea.
The situation has been talked over by Four Lads Had a Dream’s Stevie Clifford, who is a leading Rangers insider. He isn’t sure these two transfers are connected.
“Rangers are after number nines.”
His Four Lads Had a Dream website is one of the most well-known Ibrox fan sites. Stevie Clifford is known to have close ties to Rangers.
Clifford talked about the Rangers’ ties to Hamza Igamane and Albion Rrahmani on the platform’s most recent podcast.
This summer, the host of “Four Lads Had a Dream” confirmed that Rangers are looking for more firepower. He also said that the Gers might play with four strikers next season.
It comes as Danilo comes back from injury and Cyriel Dessers, who is currently the ninth player, is not in a hurry to leave.
“Rangers are interested in nines for sure,” Clifford said on the podcast.
“The bid for Rrahmani may not have been enough, and they’ve moved on.” We’ll find out when the time comes.
“I believe we need two nines and Danilo to join the team.” I also don’t think Cyriel Dessers is too eager to move.
What are Igamane, Rahamani, Danilo, and Dessers?
You can understand why Rangers fans might have thought that the news about Hamza Igamane might have hurt Albion Rrahmani.
After all, Rangers had been linked to the Kosovan striker for a long time this summer.
But Football Scotland says Rangers are still “in pole position” to sign the forward this summer, which makes the links to Igamane more interesting.
Rangers’ front line will definitely get bigger before next season if they can make a deal for both players. Danilo and Cyriel Dessers will also be there.
Fans will have to “watch this space” until any deals are official, but for now, Stevie Clifford’s comments will only make them want to learn more.
It’s now up to Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement to close the deals before next week’s start of pre-season training.
Apparently £3m Rangers star put himself in the shop window after admitting he wanted to leave Ibrox
Sometime during Ianis Hagi’s time with the Rangers, it looked like he was going to be the best player in the world.
Rangers pulled off something of a coup when they signed the kid on loan from KRC Genk in January 2020. He was once one of the most promising young players in Europe.
Ianis Hagi showed he was very talented with a stunning comeback double in the Europa League win over Braga. A few months later, we signed him to a permanent deal for £3 million.
After a season and a 55th medal, Ianis Hagi was becoming an important part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Ibrox puzzle.
But bad luck struck when Hagi hurt his cruciate ligament, and he has never fully recovered at Rangers.
The playmaker’s future is uncertain because he spent last season on loan at Spanish club Alavés. The 25-year-old has been promoting himself for Euro 2024.
Hagi plays in a romp in Romania
We all know that Ianis Hagi is the son of the famous Romanian playwright Gheorghe Hagi.
This is why it says in the football stars that the attacking midfielder will play at Euro 2024 with Romania this summer.
After scoring the important goal that sent the country to Germany (a fairy tale after the Rangers star’s injury problems), even less playing time in Spain wasn’t likely to stop a call-up.
Now, Hagi has just come off the bench as Romania beats Ukraine 3-0 to get off to a great start in the Euros for the first time since 2016.
In the first half, Nicolae Stanciu scored the first goal for Romania. In the second half, Razvan Marin and Denis Dragus scored the rest of the goals.
After the hour mark, Ianis Hagi came on for Denis Man and was seen leading the celebrations when the game was over.
Future of Rangers not decided
Ianis Hagi said this summer that he wasn’t sure about his future with Rangers, so the Euro 2024 appearance comes as a surprise.
Hagi has said that he is focusing on his duties in Romania, so it’s still not clear what’s going on with him, even though it was thought that he might be going back to Rangers.
Many people at Ibrox aren’t sure what will happen with Ianis’s future, but the playmaker can’t say for sure if he’ll be back at Rangers after the tournament in Germany.
At the beginning of June, Hagi said, “My attention is on the Euros.” “I spoke with my agents, and the heat is on them.”
I want them to know what I want for my future. This summer is very important for me in every way. That’s what I told them before I went to the national team.
“I expect them to do everything they can to help me find the right team and manager.”
“I don’t know if I’ll be at Rangers or somewhere else.” My agents decide what will happen to me.
Ianis Hagi has played 99 games for Rangers and has scored 16 goals and set up 21 others.
The playmaker has also played 36 times for Romania and scored five goals.
Rangers really need to get Damian Garcia after two permanent departures from Ibrox have been confirmed
Derek Ferguson says that every team needs players like Damian Garcia, but Rangers need him more than anyone else right now because they’ve lost two senior midfielders.
On June 5, Football Scotland said that the Light Blues were interested in the Uruguayan midfielder during Philippe Clement’s transfer window.
And after the club confirmed that both John Lundstram and Ryan Jack would be leaving because their contracts were up, the Ibrox midfield looks empty. Ferguson, who used to play in that position, thinks Garcia would be a good addition in the same way that Stuart McCall was.
Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, and Oscar Cortes are the three 20-year-olds that Clement has already signed. Ferguson likes to sign young players from other countries because their desire to make the move shows that they are hungry.
He told Ibrox News only, “They brought him in for a reason; they did their research.”Philippe Clement is doing everything he says he is doing right now with the hiring, with Koppen coming in.
“These young men are being sought out.” When they lose players like Lundstram and Ryan Jack, they miss out on players who could do more than just destroy the other team.
“But this kid looks like the kind of person who likes playing defensive midfield, which is a role I think every team needs.”
“Look at the Rangers.” McCall came to Rangers even after I left. He was great in that part. It was hard for him to let the other team’s playmakers do their jobs because he stopped the game.
“You need that kind of person all the time.” Stuart could play too, and I’m sure this kid can too.
“Obviously, they like something about him, and I like that. Again, as a young 20-year-old, he’ll be hungry and have a lot to prove, and I think that’s what we need at Rangers.”
“I love the hunger of young players, but we need to find the right balance. You can’t just bring in all young players.” To see how good they are, they’re ready to go to another country.
Ryan Jack and John Lundstram leave the Rangers because their contracts are up.
John Lundstram is one of two Rangers midfielders to leave already along with Ryan Jack.
The news on June 12 that Garcia was going to sign a new deal with Penarol (Dario Alberti) that included a $10 million (£7.9 million) release clause is bad news for Rangers.
Because of how busy Clement and Nils Koppen are at Ibrox this summer, they can’t pay that much, even though John Bennett has said there is money to spend [Daily Record, 14 June]. This means he can’t leave for a cheap price with only a few months left on his contract, but it doesn’t mean a transfer won’t happen.
As for the Light Blues, they need at least two more players in central midfield. If Garcia doesn’t prove to be one of them, they’ll have to move for Connor Barron and keep looking for more players.
Pundit feels bad that Rangers might have to sell first-team player; calls it “horrible and heartbreaking”
Derek Ferguson said that if Kieran Dowell leaves Rangers this summer to go to England, the club will send him their “best wishes.”
As Philippe Clement changes his team, the Gers midfielder’s future is uncertain. In his Daily Record column on June 2, Kenny Miller said he had “no impact” and the manager would be open to offers. Meanwhile, on May 28, Chris Jack wrote for Rangers Review that a return to Scotland “looks on the cards.”
Ferguson, who used to love playing at Ibrox, agrees that the 26-year-old’s move from Norwich a year ago hasn’t worked out after only 16 games in all competitions, most of which came off the bench.
The commentator agrees that injuries are very hard on players, but they insist that the club must be “ruthless” when they try to get better during the transfer window.
He told Ibrox News in an exclusive interview, “Listen, I’m not making fun of boys who are hurt; it must be terrible and heartbreaking for them.” But Rangers have to be cruel, we can’t have that.
“I know it’s a contact sport, but the way things are going, it’s becoming a non-contact sport. You can see a player there, but he doesn’t play enough games and isn’t fit enough.
“That’s why we wish him luck if he goes to England and finds a club there.”
“Nonetheless, it has not occurred to him at Rangers, as it has not occurred to a number of them.”
Philippe Clement has to be “ruthless” with Rangers during the summer transfer window
Rangers need Philippe Clement to be “ruthless” during the summer transfer window.
The move from Norwich to Rangers is hard for Kieran Dowell.
After John Lundstram and Ryan Jack left because their contracts were up, Clement doesn’t have a lot of midfield options, though a deal for Connor Barron could happen soon. But, like Jack, it hasn’t mattered much if Dowell was in the squad or not because he hasn’t been fit to play.
Injuries don’t affect anyone more than the player who gets hurt, but Rangers have had more of a problem with them lately than most teams.
Dowell was a signing by Michael Beale, and when a new manager takes over, players that were brought in by the previous manager may not be available. Since he was a free agent, it might not take a huge offer to get him.
‘We’re saying goodbye’: The club has confirmed that the Rangers target is leaving after receiving a “strong” offer from Ibrox
The truth wasn’t really a secret. However, it’s still good to know for sure. One of the Rangers’ main summer targets will be free this summer.
Free agents aren’t really free, though.
No matter when a player’s contract ends, there are still agent fees, signing-on fees, and wage demands that are often higher because there is no transfer fee. Although Connor Barron won’t get an insanely high signing-on bonus like Kylian Mbappe does when he joins Real Madrid (£85 million), Rangers also wouldn’t be able to just grab the highly-rated midfielder without spending a dime.
The Daily Record says that Rangers would still have to pay Aberdeen a fee, but it would be a lot less than what the player is worth on the market. Rangers could be taken to court if they can’t agree on a fee. Barron is now free to sign a contract at Ibrox.
To get Connor Barron, the Rangers want to win the race.
There is a “strong offer” for Barron to move to Glasgow, and he is likely to decide next week. In the English Championship, Swansea City, Cardiff, Stoke, and Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle are all fans of him.
Italy is also interested. Bologna, which is going to the Champions League, wants to get into Scottish football again after the success of Aaron Hickey and Lewis Ferguson as captain.
After that, no one knows where Barron is working in 2024 or 25. But Aberdeen is not going to be it.The Dons confirmed on Friday that the Scotland Under-21 international is one of several senior players who will be leaving in July. These players include goalkeeper Kelle Roos and former Celtic winger Jonny Hayes.
A statement on the Aberdeen website says, “Now that the 2023–24 season is over, we can fill you in on our first team squad for the coming season.”
“We are sad to lose Kelle Roos, Connor Barron, Anthony Stewart, and of course Jonny Hayes from our first team.”
“The club made Connor a number of offers to try and keep him at Aberdeen.” He has chosen, though, that his future will be somewhere else.
Aberdeen confirms that their star midfielder is leaving.
Would Barron choose the Rangers? If so, he would do what Scott Wright and Ryan Jack did. It looks like he will be a good fit to replace the latter, since the former Aberdeen captain is leaving the team, making room for an aggressive, all-around central midfielder like Barron.
Barry Ferguson, who has led Rangers to five Scottish Premiership titles, would love to see one of the best young players in the country follow in his royal blue footsteps.
After all, Ferguson has criticised his old team for not making better use of local talent, since Josh Doig, Hickey, and his nephew Lewis all left Scotland to play for other teams.
As the race to sign Barron heats up, Ferguson now tells Go Radio, “I think he’s a good young player.”
“Will he really make the Rangers midfield stronger?” It’s hard when you play for a team like Aberdeen and have a lot of responsibility. What people want and expect…
“But he plays well.” I think I would go with the price and give him a chance. I have been impressed by Aberdeen when I have seen him.
“But going to Rangers is a whole other story.”
Clement’s team also wants to sign another Scottish free agent. In the summer, keeper Liam Kelly will be leaving Livingston.
Rangers to accept big money offer ‘too good to turn down’ for exit-linked defender, according to report
The Rangers Review says that the team might be tempted to take an offer for Ridvan Yilmaz.
The online news source said on June 13 that the Gers are not actively trying to sell the left back in order to make room for summer transfers.
Things might change, though, if the right offer comes along.
It costs money to keep Yilmaz at the club. Philippe Clement wants to spend the rest of his career with the 23-year-old, but that could change if the club gets an offer they “couldn’t refuse.”
Philippe Clement will want to keep Ridvan Yilmaz at Rangers.
This summer, Clement will try to keep Yilmaz.
The defender did a great job for the Belgian until March, when he got hurt and couldn’t play anymore. The fact that the Gers’ form dropped in April and May shows how Yilmaz changed the team.
He has been hurt a lot during his two seasons with the team, but the Rangers Review says that the Gers are sure that those problems will be fixed during pre-season.
If the club keeps Yilmaz, they will have two very good left-back options now that Jefte is there.
That depth could be very important for Clement’s team next season as they try to take the Scottish Premiership away from Celtic.
There have been rumours that Yilmaz might leave the club. On June 10, the Turkish newspaper Sabah said that Besiktas had made an offer to re-sign the player.
Yilmaz’s agent, Necdet Ergezen, told Gokmen Ozcan on June 10 that the player has no plans to go back to Turkey right now, which suggests he would be willing to stay at Ibrox.
Rangers to shell out £7.7m to seal new deal
Rangers want to sign Damian Garcia for £7.7 million.
It looks like Rangers will have to pay around £7.7 million to get Penarol midfielder Damian Garcia.
Ibrox wanted to sign the 20-year-old player, according to a report from Football Scotland on June 5th. It is likely that Nils Koppen had talks to sign him in Cancun.
But if Gers still want to sign him this summer, things will be harder because Dario Alberti says he will sign a new deal that lasts until 2026.
The reporter for Sport 890 said that they would add a £7.7 million release clause to the deal to protect their own interests.
In a tweet, Alberti said, “Tomorrow, Damián García’s contract with Peñarol will be renewed until December 2026.” Their pay will go up, and they can leave for a US$10,000,000 fee. It was over for Ruglio and Lasalvia on their trip to Mexico.
Rangers aren’t likely to spend a lot of money on Damian Garcia.
Garcia is only 20 years old, so he hasn’t shown much talent yet, especially outside of Uruguay.
He has shown promise in his home country, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be able to do the same in a more competitive league like the Scottish Premiership.
Garcia has also not yet made a big name for himself on the international stage.
Even though he played well in the under-20 World Cup, the demands of senior club football are very different from playing youth international football.
Rangers would be taking a big risk by putting that much money into a player who hasn’t played much yet.
Trying to get Damian Garcia doesn’t fit with the Rangers’ plan for making transfers.
Gers should instead focus on talented people who have already been around for a while.
The club doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on transfers, and it would be a waste to spend a lot of it on a player who is still learning the game.
There are probably cheaper options that can help the first team right away.
🚨 ATENCIÓN: Mañana se firmará la renovación del contrato de Damián García con Peñarol hasta diciembre de 2026. El jugador tendrá un aumento salarial y una cláusula de salida de U$S 10.000.000.

One more thing that needs to be thought about is Philippe Clement’s suggestions. If he can’t take the club to the next level, he will be held accountable.
Ibrox view: Rangers are getting close to deciding whether to bring back Abdallah Sima, and Brighton is about to set a record-setting goal score
Since Brighton is about to hire a new manager, Abdallah Sima will soon know if his future includes going back to Rangers.
The Senegalese forward was a great addition to Glasgow’s team last season. He scored 16 goals across all competitions while mostly playing off the left wing, even though he was hurt for three months from January to April.
That return is a big part of how many goals Michael Beale and Philippe Clement scored last season, which makes a deal to keep him at Ibrox appealing if it works out financially.
There have been several public statements by Sima saying that he would like to stay at Rangers if an agreement can be reached between the two clubs.
Rangers Review said on June 6 that he probably wouldn’t be told about his future until Brighton hired a new manager. They fired Roberto De Zerbi at the end of the season, and now they’re about to do that.
Fabian Hurzeler will take over for Roberto De Zerbi at the Amex
Sky Sports reported on June 9 that the Seagulls had gotten Fabian Hurzeler, the manager of St. Pauli, a work permit. If he takes over at the Amex, the 31-year-old will become the youngest Premier League manager ever.
After a day, Fabrizio Romano said that the German is likely to sign a deal down south in the next 48 hours, while talks on a compensation deal for the record-breaking move continue.
It’s clear that what Hurzeler plans to do with Sima will have a big impact on the 22-year-old’s future. If the coach doesn’t see him in the plans for next season, it would make it more likely that he comes back to the Rangers.
The wide player hasn’t played for his parent club yet because he moved to the Light Blues after loans at Stoke City and Angers.
Derek Ferguson of Ibrox News, on the other hand, isn’t sure if the club can afford to sign Sima to a permanent deal because he thinks it would cost eight figures.
It would cost a lot to sign Rangers for good.
Because they bought him for £6 million from Slavia Prague in 2021, the Seagulls probably won’t want to let him go for free. However, The Athletic reported at the time of the original deal that there was thought to be an option for an extra year.
If Hurzeler doesn’t think Sima is ready to play in the Premier League, and the player has made it clear that he feels at home at Rangers, Brighton could choose to exercise his contract option and let him come back on a second loan deal, unless they get a better offer from somewhere else.
As a result, the English club is almost certain to get a new manager, which will be a big step towards Sima finding out where he will play next season.
