Former Phoenix Suns center Bol Bol generated attention on Wednesday after officially agreeing to a new professional deal in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

As reported by Basket News, Bol is set to suit up for TNT Tropang 5G in the 2025-26 Commissioner’s Cup. The tournament tips off on March 11, giving him ample time to settle in and adjust to his new surroundings.

With TNT, Bol will team up with another former NBA player, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, who previously played for the Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, and Portland Trail Blazers.

When Bol entered the NBA out of Oregon, he was viewed as an intriguing prospect. Standing 7-foot-3, he impressed scouts with his ability to handle the ball and shoot from distance — skills not typically associated with players of his size.

He also carries notable pedigree, being the son of former 10-year NBA veteran Manute Bol.

Despite the early excitement, consistent playing time proved hard to come by. During his three seasons with the Denver Nuggets, Bol appeared in just 53 games and averaged only 6.2 minutes per contest.

His outlook appeared to improve afterward. In the 2022-23 campaign with the Orlando Magic, Bol recorded career-best averages of 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks across 70 games. However, the Magic eventually waived him, and he later signed with the Phoenix Suns.

Bol spent his final two NBA seasons in Phoenix, where he averaged 5.9 points and 3.1 rebounds over 79 appearances before ultimately falling out of the league.

While a return to the NBA may seem unlikely at this stage, the 26-year-old now has another opportunity to showcase his abilities on a professional stage and potentially draw interest from NBA scouts.

Meanwhile, the Suns are set to resume play on Thursday when they face the San Antonio Spurs in their first matchup following the All-Star break.
