Aberdeen drawn to face Celtic in Scottish Cup semi-finals

The Dons are heading back to Hampden for a third time this season after an impressive 3-1 victory dumped Derek McInnes’ Kilmarnock out of the competition at the quarter-final stage.

Aberdeen will face Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals after Monday night’s draw revealed the Dons’ route to silverware.

Victory against Kilmarnock brought surprises aplenty, with the Reds earning their place in the final four with an impressive performance before Neil Warnock stepped down as interim manager minutes after full-time at Pittodrie.

Peter Leven is now set to take charge in the short term, but with the club hoping to bring in their new manager during the international break it is yet to be seen who will lead the side out at Hampden.

Aberdeen are becoming no strangers to the national stadium this season having already been twice in the Viaplay Cup when they narrowly lost to Rangers in the final.

They will be hoping to go one better and lift the trophy this time and not only end their 10-year wait for silverware but all secure Scottish Cup glory for the first time since 1990.
