Alabama Crimson Tide’s starting cornerback, Domani Jackson, has announced his decision to return for the 2025 season, providing a significant boost to the team’s defensive lineup. Jackson, who transferred from USC prior to the 2024 season, quickly established himself as a key player in Alabama’s secondary.

In his announcement on social media, Jackson expressed his determination to achieve more with the team: “The season didn’t end how we wanted, and the job isn’t finished yet. I will be returning for the 2025 season to make my last one the best one.”

Jackson’s return is particularly timely given the recent departures in Alabama’s cornerback roster. Freshman cornerback Jaylen Mbakwe entered the transfer portal after participating in 11 games during the 2024 season.

Additionally, Jahlil Hurley transferred to Kansas, and DaShawn Jones is set to be a fifth-year senior in 2025.

To bolster the secondary, Alabama has added Cameron Calhoun, a transfer from Utah. Calhoun, who began his collegiate career at Michigan before transferring to Utah, brings experience and depth to the cornerback position.

With Jackson’s return, Alabama’s projected starting cornerbacks for the 2025 season are expected to be Domani Jackson and Zabien Brown. Brown, a five-star recruit from the 2023 class, has shown significant promise and is anticipated to play a crucial role in the upcoming season.

Jackson’s decision to stay reflects his commitment to the Crimson Tide and his desire to lead the team to greater success in the 2025 season. His experience and skill will be invaluable assets as Alabama aims to strengthen its defense and compete at the highest level.
