Alica Schmidt revealed details about her pre-season training in South Africa
Alica Schmidt described her training regimen in South Africa before of the 2025 track and field season. Schmidt explained in one of her vlogs from December that the training was intense since they had to practise twice a day.
She also claimed that her naps benefited her a lot while going through the practice program in the South African camp. She said (via her YouTube account, starting at 0:55):
“I need my naps here so bad because training is, it’s not exhausting every session but the load of training, I’m not really used to that because we train twice a day almost every day so yeah I really need my naps and they help me a lot.”
Schmidt also added:
Otherwise, I don’t feel too fatigued; everything is OK, and I’m quite delighted that the training is going well and that my body isn’t hurting or anything. So I’m quite pleased with that, and the training is well-planned.”
During the video, Schmidt also stated that her coach at her South African training camp has provided her with appropriate training, and she is pleased with her progress.
