The two-time Netherlands cap has been without a club since leaving Mainz earlier this summer.

Free agent Anwar El Ghazi has offered to play for Celtic for FREE after the latest show of support from the Green Brigade for Palestine.

The Celtic ultras sent a clear message over the war in the Middle East before the Scottish Premiership showdown with Kilmarnock. The group borrowed lyrics from the song Grace, which they urged fans to join in with a pre-match rendition as the banner was unfurled and a good number did. The banner read: “Think about the past few months. Oh will will they say we’ve failed. 30,000+ dead – 12,000+ children. End the Genocide. End Zionism.”

The display came amid increased focus on Liel Abada’s situation at Celtic Park. The Israeli winger has come under pressure from international. teammates and others in Israel, who have urged him to leave the club given the fans’ pro-Palestine stance. Boss Brendan Rodgers admitted that he could be on his way as the situation continues to trouble the 22-year-old.
Should the winger leave, wide man El Ghazi could be a ready-made replacement. El Ghazi’s contract at German club Mainz was cancelled last November after the player posted a message on social media about the conflict.
And the former Aston Villa, Everton and Ajax star has claimed he would play for the Parkhead side for nothing following the latest display. He tagged the club on Instagram after spotting pictures and stated: “I would play for you guys for free.”
