Veteran’s presence will help defensive line as transfers probably to join unit.

One of the main components of Arkansas’s frugal defensive line will come back for the Razorbacks in 2025. The big man who stuffs the run and periodically presses opposing quarterbacks, Cameron Ball, said he will play a fifth season in Fayetteville.

In the 28-21 loss against Missouri in Columbia, Mo., on Saturday, the 6-foot-5, 325-pounder earned a career-best seven tackles under snowy circumstances.

Ball should be a major component of the defensive line losing its leader in senior Landon Jackson, who is believed to be a top NFL draft choice maybe going in the first round. Ball wants to improve his resume with a first-rate senior season.

Ball came out of Tri-Cities High School in Atlanta, Georgia, regarded as a three-star talent by consensus. Among others, he selected the Hogs over Georgia Tech, Duke, Arizona State. After redshirting his first year on college, he spent two seasons mainly in reserve.

Ball, a redshirt junior, started full-time this season and will give consistency and a senior presence for a group most likely strengthened via the off-season transfer portal.

Ball finished 2024 with 42 tackles, four for loss and 1.5 sacks. As a fifth-year senior, he is projected to jump forward and may be a game-changer for the Hogs following season.
