Chelsea’s player ratings versus PSG as perfect Cole Palmer matches teammate with 10/10 in Club World Cup final

Chelsea won the Club World Cup with an overwhelming 3-0 victory over Champions League holders PSG in the final.

Cole Palmer was at his magnificent best for the Blues, scoring twice in the first half to put his side ahead early on.

He later set up Joao Pedro for a fantastic third goal just before halftime, when the focus shifted to Chelsea’s defensive men.

In actuality, Enzo Maresca’s team seldom made a mistake during the game, with Robert Sanchez making several crucial stops.

Palmer was, of course, the star, but many other players received good marks in The Chelsea Chronicle’s player evaluations following the Club World Cup final victory.

In the Club World Cup final match between Chelsea and PSG, Robert Sanchez received a 10/10 rating.

What a season finale this guy has had.

Made some superb saves to deny Vitinha, Joao Neves, and Ousmane Dembele, while Robert Sanchez’s outstanding delivery set Chelsea on their way on several occasions. The number one had a terrific performance.

Rating: 9/10

Malo Gusto would not have been in everyone’s starting lineup before the game began, but he more than justified his inclusion with an outstanding effort.

The Frenchman performed admirably in both offense and defense against the Champions League winners, proving many doubters wrong.

Trevoh Chalobah: 8/10.

Trevoh Chalobah, who was very strong in every challenge he took on, did not give the PSG assault a chance to settle on the ball, limiting them to few attempts as they ran amok at the other end.

Levi Colwill: 7/10.

Palmer’s second goal was set up by a magnificent pass in behind, and he remained composed on the ball despite the Parisians’ pressure.

Levi Colwill’s play has only improved as the season has progressed under Maresca, demonstrating that he is more than capable of handling the pressure of major games.

Marc Cucurella: 7/10.

Marc Cucurella produced a key last-man interception to save what appeared to be a surefire PSG goal when the scores were equal, and he stayed persistent throughout the evening.

If anyone deserves three weeks off before returning to pre-season, it’s the Blues’ left back.

Reece James: 7/10.

Returning to central midfield, club captain Reece James helped build an extraordinarily strong midfield pivot behind the hardworking attacking talents. It appears that that will be his usual job under the current boss.

Moises Caicedo: 7/10.

After receiving a harsh yellow card in the first half, Moises Caicedo stayed disciplined in the middle of the park, putting on another outstanding performance.

Enzo Fernandez: 7/10.

Enzo Fernandez’s spectacular solo campaign, which frequently led the news, was capped off by his second trophy in as many months.

The World Cup winner’s progress under Maresca is one of the most beneficial aspects of the manager’s tenure thus far.

Cole Palmer: 10/10.

Simply brilliant.

Not that anyone doubted Cole Palmer’s incredible ability, but his two goals and assist in the first half made him stand out as the best player on the pitch against what many consider to be the best team in the world.

Pedro Neto: 8/10.

While Pedro Neto did not receive any offensive rewards in the final, his most significant contribution came in the opposite direction.

Tasked with putting a lid on the immensely dangerous Achraf Hakimi, the Portugal international’s incredible workrate aided Cucurella at the back and helped keep their opponents quiet.

Joao Pedro: 8/10.

Joao Pedro’s ideal start at Chelsea continues as he won a prize just two games into his new career.

The Brazilian remained composed to dink the ball over Gianluigi Donnarumma, giving the Blues a three-goal advantage.

Andrey Santos: 7/10.

Replaced Fernandez, who appeared to have reached the end of his lengthy season, but a tidy cameo from Andrey Santos demonstrated that he will undoubtedly play a role in Chelsea’s forthcoming campaign.

Liam Delap: 7/10.

Liam Delap almost scored a beauty minutes after going on to replace Pedro in the second half, and he was the ideal player to bring on with the Blues wanting to protect their lead.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored 6/10.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has been a consistent substitute for Maresca this season, supplied much-needed legs into the Chelsea midfield in the final 15 minutes.

Christopher Nkunku: 6/10.

Christopher Nkunku arrived late for what may be Chelsea’s final appearance. The Frenchman is heavily linked with a transfer elsewhere this summer.
