“I played for Aston Villa and Liverpool, which is why Emiliano Martinez is far more better than Alisson…
Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa is ranked by Peter Crouch as the world’s top goalkeeper right now, surpassing even Alisson Becker of Liverpool.
Emi Martinez, a former Liverpool striker, is ranked by Peter Crouch as the best goalkeeper in the world right now, surpassing even Alisson Becker.
After helping Argentina win another title on the international front during the summer, Martinez earned the Yashin title for the second consecutive year at the Ballon d’Or presentation last month. The 32-year-old, who was instrumental in his nation’s 2022 World Cup victory, added a second Copa America winner’s medal to his collection.
However, many people still believe that Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the world, particularly Liverpool supporters. After experiencing yet another hamstring issue last month, the Brazilian is currently out.
Alisson, however, has established himself as one of Liverpool’s most vital players when healthy. However, Crouch, who spent his playing career with both Villa and Liverpool, feels Martinez is currently superior.
Crouch said, “He [Martinez] is so good,” to TNT Sports. He occasionally plays the villain in a pantomime, but he always makes excellent saves.
“I always enjoyed playing with goalkeepers like him, who are commanding in the box, and he has a huge personality.” He is a personality in addition to being a goalie who makes saves. And having that in your squad is really important, in my opinion.
“Based on the data I have seen over the past two years, I would say he is the best in the world. Villa hasn’t contested for the championship, but they have made tremendous progress, and he has played a key role. He has won World Cups.
Martinez was unable to stop Villa from suffering its first Champions League loss this season, even though Crouch gave it high marks. Tyrone Mings picked up the ball in his own penalty area without understanding that Martinez had taken a goal kick, which led to Club Brugge being granted a penalty. The Argentine was involved in a weird event.
Liverpool is the only team left with a perfect winning record in the Champions League this season after Hans Vanaken converted the resulting penalty kick and Villa was unable to respond.
According to Liverpool.com, Alisson is without a doubt the world’s top goalkeeper when healthy. However, getting him onto the field has been the issue for the past year or two. The Brazilian will undoubtedly be in the race for the Yashin Trophy the next year if Liverpool can keep him healthy for the remainder of the season and maintain their current level of play.
