Injury Updates: Arsenal Relieved Over Saka and Odegaard Concerns*
Arsenal have received positive news regarding Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, as early signs suggest their injuries are not as serious as initially feared.
During the 5-0 victory over Leeds United, Saka was forced off with what looked like a significant hamstring issue, while Odegaard exited the match holding his left shoulder. Manager Mikel Arteta expressed concern post-match, stating both players were due to undergo scans on Sunday.
While it’s still uncertain whether either will be fit in time for the upcoming clash with Liverpool, the early prognosis is encouraging.
Reflecting on the injuries, Arteta said: “I haven’t spoken to the doctor yet, but for Bukayo to come off, it’s serious. He felt something while sprinting. He’s had similar injuries before and knows the feeling. For Martin, it’s something in his shoulder. Those were the two negatives of the day.”
If neither is available for the Liverpool match, Arsenal could be missing up to six key players, with Kai Havertz, Ben White, Christian Norgaard, and Gabriel Jesus already sidelined.
Despite the injury setbacks, new £64 million signing Viktor Gyokeres impressed with two goals on his home debut, Jurrien Timber added a brace, and Saka also scored before his substitution, helping Arsenal secure another three points in their strong league start.
