Liverpool ‘approve’ club record bid for Alexander Isak, as financial details surface
According to sources, Liverpool has sanctioned a club-record offer for Alexander Isak rather than admitting defeat.
Liverpool’s top priority is Newcastle United’s striker, but the Magpies have resisted, despite their talisman not practicing, refusing to play, and expressing a desire to leave.
Liverpool’s proposal of £110 million for Isak was rejected, and Newcastle has repeatedly stated that he is not for sale.
According to The Sun, Newcastle is expected to sell the Swede for a British record £130 million.
Newcastle will face Liverpool at St James’ Park for their first home game of the season, following a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa in their Premier League opener.

There will undoubtedly be many discussions concerning Isak, whose name was sung in unflattering terms by the travelling faithful on Saturday lunchtime.
However, no official contact is expected until after the game on Monday.
Liverpool remains interested in Isak and Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, who will be out of contract next summer.
Following Ibrahima Konate’s shaky performance against Bournemouth, the Reds are willing to pay £35 million for the England defender, with a double swoop for Guehi and Isak bringing their summer spending to a massive £466 million.
Isak has been training alone during his standoff with Newcastle and is poised to be fined for missing the tie with Villa.
Fabrizio Romano provides Liverpool’s latest on Isak.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the former Real Sociedad player turned down a lucrative new contract from Newcastle with an escape clause in 2026.
If Newcastle gives the least indication that they are willing to do business, Liverpool will be prepared to make a second bid in the hopes of securing Isak’s services.

On his YouTube channel, Romano asked, “What is Liverpool’s position?” Very silent, very quiet, yet I’m not going to sleep on this. Liverpool are poised to make another bid for Isak.
“If Newcastle opens its doors, Liverpool will be well prepared with a new offering. Forget about Liverpool not bidding; they will be very prepared, and that is very evident.
“Liverpool have never phoned any other striker as of today; if that changes tonight or tomorrow, I will notify you; nonetheless, Liverpool has only approached Alexander Isak.
“The focus is very clear, waiting to see what’s going to happen with Newcastle, but the player is very clear, the club is very clear and so just waiting to be together as soon as possible.”
