Longhorns Daily News reports that Michael Taaffe of Texas is a candidate for the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award

Texas redshirt senior defensive back Michael Taaffee has developed a reputation for both his on-field performance and his off-field charitable work, most notably his efforts in the aftermath of the central Texas flooding earlier this year.

Taaffe’s altruism appears to have piqued the interest of the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award committee, which included the senior defensive back to its watch list, according to an announcement earlier this week.
