Lucas Paqueta’s developments have made the FA look dumb, with the West Ham player being encouraged not to sue
Lucas Paqueta has had a rocky experience at West Ham United over the last few seasons.
An independent committee cleared Paqueta of wrongdoing earlier this summer, bringing relief to both the player and his lawyers.
Paqueta’s status at West Ham has been cleared, amid interest from Aston Villa. More facts have surfaced from the midfielder’s hearing.

Paqueta has been urged not to pursue legal action after being cleared of betting charges.
The Brazilian has the option of taking legal action against the FA, but he will also want to return to football after a difficult 16 months.
Martin Samuel has advised the midfielder that additional legal action is not the wisest option, but that he has every right to be upset following another failure by English football’s regulatory body.
He stated in The Times that football charges have a low standard of proof, which has always been troublesome.
“John Terry was exonerated in Westminster magistrates’ court of racially assaulting Anton Ferdinand, but the FA ruled him guilty and banned him for four matches. The stigma surrounding the action undoubtedly harmed his career.”
He subsequently said, “The FA was made to look foolish by a decision that essentially shredded their argument, but the system itself is unfit for purpose.”
“There is discussion of Paqueta suing, but he would be wise to concentrate on his game rather than further legal concerns. He has every right to be outraged, however.
Lucas Paqueta should focus on his football.
Paqueta’s legal issues have negatively impacted his effectiveness on the pitch, causing West Ham to fall in the Premier League table.
The Brazilian has struggled compared to his early West Ham career, and the midfielder is currently seeking to re-establish his place in the team.
