Philippe Clement backs Willie Collum, the referee who was involved in the Rangers row, and wants VAR to catch Premier League cheaters

on

Last season, the Belgian was in the middle of a storm with the new SFA head of referees. He met the Belgian at a recent meeting of top flight bosses.

Philippe Clement wants Willie Collum, the new SFA official who was in charge of the Rangers row, to improve the quality of refereeing and for VAR to catch all the Premiership cheaters.

The Belgian said that the man who was widely criticised before retiring last season had a positive meeting with top-level managers after taking over as head of the referees from Crawford Allan at Hampden in the summer. Collum caused a big fuss with the Ibrox club last season because he wasn’t at the Clydesdale House headquarters when he missed Alistair Johnston’s handball during the festive Old Firm derby at Parkhead. Referee Nick Walsh should have been sent to the monitor because there was an offside in the buildup, so there wouldn’t have been a penalty.

Collum’s first decision didn’t take offside into account, though, and Rangers’ management went to war with the SFA, demanding not only the audio from the game but also that Collum be banned from games involving the Ibrox team. At the time, Clement broke away from the club’s position and praised Collum’s new role. “We talked after all the fuss last season when he next came to Ibrox,” he said. That was already done. There was nothing for me.

“In an instant, a choice was made, and we were unhappy with it.” But that’s how football works with the ref. The day someone else has other plans when they’re on the pitch as a referee is the day I quit as a manager. That doesn’t make sense to me. It was also very clear that he had a great game the next time he whistled. No, those things are no longer there.

“The meeting not long ago was very interesting.” He really wants to make things better, as you can see. He also sees things very clearly and knows how to make them better. Also, being there with other Premiership managers was a great idea. Rules and how we see things were really well talked about. In the meeting, things went both ways. So I think everyone left with a good sense that we can all raise the bar and that we can talk to each other freely. That was really helpful.

Collum did what he did to make sure the handball rule was clear, and Clement wants VAR to be less strict. The manager of the Gers said, “We talked about that.” What I heard from the other managers and the referees makes me think that we have a much better idea of how the game should go and how VAR should work.

“People thought that there would be no more mistakes when VAR first came out.” That can’t happen, though. There’ll always be a grey area.

There is less of a grey area now thanks to VAR. That makes the game better. But you saw England in the semi-finals of the Euros. Everyone in Holland will say that the VAR made them lose.

“So the grey area will stay in football. I think you guys are really glad about that because it means you can write a lot of articles.” This is a normal part of football, and one reason it’s so popular is that it makes for great talks with your friends afterward.

“I want as little talk as possible about things that are clear, and VAR helps me do that.” It has to do with how and when to use it. Rules play a part too. At the meeting, the handball rule was very important. Not just referees in Scotland had trouble with the new handball rule; referees all over Europe did too.

“The rule is getting easier to understand, and it’s getting less strict because giving a penalty in a game is a very important decision. It went a little too far to the wrong side of the scale, but I still think it’s a good evolution. Those were the only things that everyone in the meeting agreed on. We’re going in the right direction. It will make the game better. And people will cheat in the game less. I didn’t cheat when I was a player, but I don’t like it now. I’m not perfect; I just wanted to win. But cameras make it harder to do some things, which I see as a good change.

Keith Jackson tells Cyriel Dessers, “Don’t be silly,” in response to her question at Rangers

Ranger’s striker Cyriel Dessers is not ready to lead the line at Ibrox again this season, according to Keith Jackson.

After scoring 22 goals last season, the striker has been linked with a move away from Ibrox for a long time.

Jackson was answering a question in the 29 August print edition of the Daily Record that asked if the striker could lead the line again after scoring two goals against Union Berlin.

It was him who said, “Don’t be silly.”

“Numerous things are good about Dessers, but no matter how hard he tries, the quality is just not there.”

There might be a perfect shooter at Tynecastle on Saturday for Rangers.

Rangers are planning to trade Cyriel Dessers for Lawrence Shankland.

Last season, Dessers scored a good number of goals. While scoring goals, the striker was the Gers’ best attacker, but his play was inconsistent at times.

Recent events have led Dessers to say that he’s “very happy” and would like to keep playing for the club next season [Ziggo Sport, 13 July].

Despite this new information, the Gers need to sell players if they want to get more help to improve their chances of winning the Scottish Premiership.

Many news outlets have reported that striker Lawrence Shankland is interested in joining the Gers [Daily Record, July 27].

The previous season, he scored 31 goals in all competitions, making him one of the best attackers in Scotland.

This is a great opportunity for Philippe Clement to get the Scotsman because his contract ends at the end of the 2024–25 season, making a deal a lot less expensive than expected.

Rangers legend seen pouring beers in a Glasgow pub: “strange”

Last night (July 27), Mark Hateley was caught pouring beers in Oswald’s Bar in the city centre. The striker, who is 62 years old, used to play for the light blues and scored 89 goals in 218 games after moving from Monaco to Ibrox for £1 million.

Someone who used to play for the Rangers was seen drinking in a Glasgow pub.

On Saturday night (July 27), Mark Hateley was caught pouring beers in Oswald’s Bar in the city centre. The 62-year-old former striker for the Light Blues scored 89 goals in 218 games for the team after moving from Monaco to Ibrox for £1 million.

Rangers won the league title every single year Hateley played for them. From 1989 to 1997, they won an amazing nine titles. Two Scottish cups were also won by them.

The “surreal moment” that the legend jumped behind the bar and tried to pull a pint after a sold-out show at Oswald’s was caught on camera. They wrote on Facebook, “Huge thanks to everyone who came to our Mark Hateley event, which was sold out.”

“What a great night! He told some amazing stories about his life and career. It was strange to have one of our best 11s ever in the bar at the same time. He even tried to pour a pint.

“We hope everyone had a great night, and good luck to everyone who won the raffle.” Watch out for our next event. There will be a message tomorrow morning.”

I had a good talk with Rangers Manager Philippe Clement about where Rangers is going, but I’m not going to lie – Barry Ferguson

He talked to the Belgian before the friendly match against Birmingham City, another team he used to play for.

I’m well aware of a picture that’s been going around since Rangers played in Birmingham the other night.

People are yelling at me in the street, rolling down their car windows, and asking, “What did you say to him?” after the picture of me talking to Philippe Clement went viral. Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but what we talked about will only be shared between us. As for what we talked about, it was mostly about Glasgow Rangers and the way my old club is going.

There was a post last week about how excited I was to see how the team was doing before the big game at Tynecastle in their pre-season friendly against Manchester United on Saturday. To be completely honest, it wasn’t great. It was the same story when they lost their second straight game at St. Andrew’s on Wednesday night.

Yes, I totally get why supporters are worried now that the new campaign is only a few days away. To be honest, I’m a little worried about it myself. I’m not going to panic, though, when the manager has to make a lot of tough choices.

I’m also not going to lie. Since there is only one week until the real stuff starts up again, the fact that he doesn’t know who will be on his team is obviously not ideal. Something else would be wrong to say. But, as I said last week, don’t jump to any conclusions just yet. Fans shouldn’t make up their minds just yet, no matter how hard it is right now. They should wait until the end of August, when the transfer window closes, to see the full picture of this overhaul.

Since that’s what it is. A huge makeover. And hasn’t that been exactly what the Rangers have been asking for for the past two years? Some people might be right when they say I’m looking for the good in things. Maybe I am. What’s the point of wanting things to change and then getting upset about them when they are already happening? And most importantly, before it’s even done.

I think Clement should be praised for having the guts to tear it all down and start over. Making a few changes to the staff in the hopes that a few new faces would make all the difference would have been easier and safer for him. But let’s not fool ourselves—Rangers have needed major surgery for a while now, and Clement is showing that he’s brave enough to do it and face the problem head-on.

Yes, I wish it had begun in May, when the previous season ended, but football isn’t always that easy. But from what I’ve seen in the last two or three days, it looks like things are finally getting going.

The move for Connor Goldson has been approved, Sam Lammers is on his way back to Holland, Ianis Hagi seems likely to return to Fiorentina, James Tavernier could be next, and Clement has said that Todd Cantwell also wants to leave.

That one did appear out of the blue, but Cantwell’s request to be transferred wasn’t really a surprise. For months, it’s been clear that he’s not been home. It makes me sad that this has happened because I’ve always thought of him as a player. After meeting him a few times, I still think he has the power to make a difference, and I have nothing bad to say about him. By no means do I think he’s a bad person.

On the other hand, things don’t always work out, and it looks like his time is up now. It’s a shame, but whatever. Rangers should be able to get a few quid for him, which would free up his salary. They could then use the extra cash to help Clement get the players he really wants.

Vaclav Cerny joined on loan from Wolfsburg, and the Czech player seems like a good fit. It will be interesting to see what happens with Lawrence Shankland and whether Rangers can make an offer that will make Hearts want to do business now that the money is coming in.

I think the interest is real. Coming to an agreement on a price for a player whose contract is up in one year and who will be 29 next month will be hard. Both clubs will have strong ideas about how much he’s worth on the market, and those ideas probably won’t be the same.

I just hope they can come to an agreement that works for everyone. Being able to use Shankland as a striker in a lot of different ways has really grown on me. And I think now is the right time for him to make the big move.

Without a doubt, Clement has a lot of other people he wants to kill. A lot of centre backs, right backs, and midfielders will be on his list of players to look at. But it’s harder to find people who have scored goals before. Shankland is right in front of him. I need to be polite because he is still a Hearts player, and they have every right to do what’s best for them.

They should be praised for helping him become the player he is now. Also, shoutout to Lawrence, who has worked very hard to get to the point where he can play for Scotland. But if a price can be worked out that Hearts is willing to accept, I think it’s a done deal. Rangers would be crazy not to try to make it happen.

If the fans are getting antsy and frustrated, seeing Shankland with the scarf over his head might help them calm down because they know what he will bring to the team. A lot of goals. That being said, let’s see what happens over the next two weeks. I think the manager is just getting started with his big rebuild.

Rangers to sign 27-cap int’L player – report

In the summer, Rangers want to bring more players to Ibrox because Philippe Clement wants to make more changes to the team.

The Gers are getting rid of some of their older and less important players, which should make room for new ones.

Connor Goldson is free to talk to other teams, and it looks like he will be leaving Ibrox.

In the same way, the futures of James Tavernier, Scott Wright, Ianis Hagi, and Todd Cantwell at the Glasgow club are all uncertain.

Many people think that Gers striker Cyriel Dessers should also be able to leave the club.

The Rangers want to sign Hannibal Mejbri, a midfielder for Manchester United.

Rangers need to improve their midfield after selling Ryan Jack this summer. They want to sign Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United to do that.

Africafoot says that the Gers are nearly finished with talks to sign him on loan.

The Tunisia international has been capped 27 times and has played 13 times for the first team since joining Old Trafford as a youth player.

He went on loan to La Liga club Sevilla last season, but it didn’t work out for him because he only played six times, and five of those were from the bench.

In the race to sign Mejbri, Rangers might have to go up against Copenhagen. This is why Clement wants to get him to the club. He is now a “priority” signing for the Bears, and they are hard at work to get him to Ibrox.

Mejbri still has one year left on his Old Trafford deal. If he does well while on loan at Rangers, the Glasgow club can try to sign him next summer for less money.

Rangers are also interested in Wolfsburg attacker Vaclav Cerny. The club is also interested in Sevilla player Joan Jordan.

17-cap international receives ‘green light’ as Sky Sports divulge Rangers transfer information

Rangers have taken their time with the second part of their recruiting as Philippe Clement embarks on one of the most extensive rebuilds in recent memory.

The manager acknowledges his squad’s shortcomings, but anticipates positive developments.

Fans are excited by rumours that Sam Lammers has decided to join Twente, while Connor Goldson is also considering his options.

Vaclav Cerny joins Rangers on loan

According to Sky Sports, Vaclav Cerny is on his way to Ibrox in a deal that Nils Koppen might use more frequently this year.

Speaking earlier in the transfer window, Clement assured that first-team ready starters were on their way.

“We had five players leave the club at the conclusion of their contracts, and we got no money in. We lost five players, but it was simpler to bring in young guys for the time being. However, experience will be coming in, and we will need a good mix of both in the group.

“It was critical to locate these young players, and I believe we discovered some interesting prospects for the future of our organisation. They are prepared to play a few minutes in the beginning, but surely in the coming years.”

Sky Sports confirmed Rangers’ approach for Vaclav Cerny.

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany, Rangers are now in a solid position to recruit someone of actual quality:

“Vaclav Cerny is about to join Rangers on loan!”

“It is progressed. The 26-year-old winger will get the go light.

“Contract with VFL Wolfsburg until 2027.”

Heart and Hand have expressed interest in Cerny, a winger who has been likened to Arjen Robben. Marc Overmars claims Cerny is technically superior to him, but not as quick.

This is the first major signing that will delight fans.

Connor Barron was an obvious choice and has made a great start, while Oscar Cortes has the potential to make a significant difference this season.

Cerny had been a standout in the Eredivisie with Twente before to joining Wolfsburg.

He tallied over 25 goals and assists and demonstrated the poise that the Rangers had lacked in the closing third.

The Champions League transfer deadline approaches, but Rangers appear to be finally getting into gear.

The opinion from Four Lads Had a Dream on the loan move for a Manchester United player to Rangers

Four Boys Had a Dream Stevie Clifford says he would let Hannibal Mejbri, a player for Manchester United, go on loan to Rangers.

Since Clifford saw United’s youth and reserve players beat Gers 2-0 over the weekend, he has been honest about how the team is doing before the new season.

This summer, Gers added six new players, but their starting eleven is still not very good.

Clifford said on Rangers Review on July 22, at 33:16, “We lost to a bunch of kids from Manchester United, a bunch of reserves.”

“You looked at each one of them and thought, ‘Yeah, I’d loan that guy.'”

“Right away, I’d take the boy Hannibal.”

It’s clear that Hannibal Mejbri would give the Rangers middle more bite.

If they can, Gers should take advantage of the chance to sign Mejbri on loan. He would add a lot of energy to their middle.

The 20-year-old Tunisian player has already shown what he can do in the Premier League with Manchester United and while on loan at Sevilla.

His ability to help the team both defensively and offensively would make their midfield choices much better.

Because he works hard, is technically skilled, and can read the game, Mejbri plays in a certain way.

He is good at getting the ball back, stopping efforts from the other team, and starting quick transitions. This would help Clement’s team a lot on the counterattack.

Mejbri’s experience in the top leagues and his international background would also help the Gers’ team by giving them more direction and maturity, but it remains to be seen if this actually happens.

‘It isn’t affecting me’: Euro 2024 midfielder reacts to Rangers rumours as Ibrox move speculated yet again

Rangers has already had a busy summer, mostly concentrating on bringing in young players under Philippe Clement for the future.

It was devastating to lose the Scottish Premiership to fierce rivals Celtic, especially considering how occasionally the Bhoys faltered.

Rangers just failed to seize the opportunity, and as a result, they will need to centre their summer transfer plans around manager Philippe Clement.

Since Jefte, Oscar Cortes, Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron, and Hamza Igamane—all 21 or younger—arrived at Ibrox this summer, Rangers have recruited youthful talent.

At 28, goalie Liam Kelly makes a comeback and gives experience, although Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, Kemar Roofe, and John Lundstram have all gone on.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is interested in James Tavernier as well and wants to move him to Besiktas, Turkey.

With so much experience departing the Rangers, it would seem sensible to add a more seasoned player to aid in the transition for these new recruits.

Rangers’ Kenny McLean

When Kenny McLean’s relocation to Ibrox was mentioned, not many people were shocked.

In June, The Daily Record revealed that Rangers were considering bringing McLean from Norwich City to Glasgow.

Although this is a rumour that seems to surface every transfer window, it felt much more plausible this time around because of Rangers’ need for experience.

McLean is a Glasgow native who played for Rangers for a while and even grew up being a fan.

Speaking in 2022, McLean said that although there haven’t been many real possibilities to join the Rangers, his family would be “over the moon” if he ever did.

Supporters will recall that under Pedro Caixinha, the Rangers wanted McLean from Aberdeen, but no deal was reached.

When asked about Rangers, McLean responded, “I get asked that so much, honestly.” “Not really, no. Talk is constant. But nothing has ever moved me to tears or said, “There you go,” in front of me. There has been more than just paper chatter in the past.

It has never taken the form of anything. Would I ever love it? Naturally. Of course I would if you’re raised that way and that’s who you support. I’m sure my family would be ecstatic,” he continued.

Although McLean was a pillar of the Norwich team the previous year and led the Canaries into the Championship playoffs, this summer might have been the appropriate time.

One year after Leeds United’s £4 million approach was rejected, McLean has now been questioned about a potential move to Rangers once more and has reaffirmed his allegiance to Norwich.

McLean stated that there isn’t much to talk about in terms of a transfer to the Rangers in an interview with the Norwich Evening News.

The Scotland international, who played at Euro 2024 this summer, wants to continue at Norwich and believes that the rumours aren’t harming him in the slightest.

McLean emphasised that although there have been past whispers about Rangers, he has been faithful to Norwich.

To be honest, I don’t believe I need to talk about it too much in terms of whether or not it’s accurate. I’m not at all affected by it,” McLean remarked. “I am here, I want to stay here, and I will stay here forever. I’m excited to visit Oxford.

I’ve always had a positive relationship with the fans, and I plan to keep that going for the foreseeable future. I’m hoping [the contract] says a lot. Last year, when there was discussion and I pledged my future to the football team, things were fairly similar. The football team promised me the same thing. “I fail to see why that would alter,” he continued.

McLean is 33 in January, and if he wants to sign with the Rangers, his time may be running out.

We can’t say that the door is entirely closed because Steven Davis returned to the Rangers at the age of 34, but it’s possible that McLean and the Rangers are never quite ready to meet for a trade.

McLean is obviously not in a rush to leave Norwich, so Rangers may have to go elsewhere this summer for experience.

Summer move ruled out for Rangers man fired by Philippe Clement as club fears pay demands

Rangers plan to continue overhauling their roster this summer, although a deal has proven challenging due to a player’s price demands.

During the summer transfer window, seven players have already left the club, so the exit door at Ibrox has been busy.

However, the manager Philippe Clement is keen to reduce his team even further in an effort to rebuild, thus the departures are far from over.

Sam Lammers, a player who has lost favour in Glasgow, is one who is probably going to be added to the list of players leaving.

He signed with Rangers in the summer, however he was loaned to Utrecht in the Netherlands after having a lacklustre debut.

Although Lammers had a great time in the Eredivisie, Clement made it plain that he is not in his plans by sending him to train with the B team this summer while the first team players departed for their training camp in the Netherlands.

Sam Lammers’ relocation is excluded due to pay demands

The 27-year-old forward appeared to be heading back to the Eredivisie this summer after having a stellar season with Utrecht last summer.

Lammers had expressed interest in rejoining Utrecht, but according to the Daily Record, he insisted on receiving three times the salary of the team’s highest-earning player.

The team in need of a new striker this summer has also been linked to FC Twente, another team in the Eredivisie.

But due to Lammers’ salary demands, Dutch journalist Leon ten Voorde stated on the AD football podcast that a contract is no longer possible.

“He [Lammers] doesn’t even come to talk in Enschede because he earns such a high salary in Glasgow,” he claimed.

What’s next for Rangers’ Sam Lammers?

An escape from Ibrox is unavoidable. Lammers has no future at the Glasgow club, as Clement has made very evident.

Lammers is not the only player facing cuts; according to Clement, two Rangers players will see a reduction in playing time.

Unfortunately, Rangers will be in a frantic attempt to relieve him of their own salary burden because his wage demands are becoming a burden.

Lammers also needs to locate a new team this summer if he want to play football next season.

Tommy Conway was kicked out of Bristol City’s first team as the Celtic and Rangers-linked striker attempted to force a transfer

The Scotland striker has been made to practice with the under-21 team.

Tommy Conway has been dropped from the Bristol City first squad after indicating a wish to leave.

The Scotland striker has declined an offer from the Robins, as his contract expires next summer. Manager Liam Manning revealed to Bristol Live that the player was compelled to practice with the club’s under-21s squad.

Manning claims the planned arrangement with Conway was “excellent,” but he refuses to negotiate, indicating his desire to quit. The manager claims he has been removed from the first team picture because he only wants to work with players who are completely committed to the mission.

Celtic and Rangers have been connected with the 21-year-old, who may be available for about £300,000 in cross-border compensation if they wait until net year. However, this latest development suggests that a faster transfer would be preferable for all parties involved.

Manning stated: “Tommy has a contract offer on the table, which is wonderful. This was turned down and not negotiated with the athlete who expressed a desire to leave.

“The decision has been made for him to train with the U21s, with the emphasis solely on individuals who are completely committed to what we are attempting to accomplish. We plan to expand our squad in the future. It has been a fantastic few weeks for the squad, and I am pleased with how things are going. We are getting ready for the pre-season friendlies, which will be a good test for the players.”

One guarantee if he chooses Ibrox over Parkhead is a Celtic transfer target marked on a Rangers box ticker

Celts have also been connected with a movement similar to that of the elite Rangers.

Tommy Conway is the kind of player Ibrox officials are looking for, a former Rangers star says, and he would be a great addition.

Claimed to be interested in the forward who visited Euro 2024 with Scotland this summer are both the Light Blues and Premiership winners Celtic. Some have floated a pre-contract swoop by both as it would only need a cost as low as £300k in cross-border compensation.

Derek Ferguson believes Philippe Clement could be a boss who could maximise the already shown potential of Conway. With twelve of those strikes coming last campaign, he has scored 25 goals and six assists in 92 games total among the interest from Rangers and Celtic.

Among swoops for younger-profile players like Jefte, Oscar Cortes, Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron, and Hamza Igamane, the ex-midfielder notes that the gaffer would be nailed on to improve him and therefore maybe benefit Rangers. Ferguson informed Ibrox News: “Yeah, he’s a good player; isn’t he the lad?”

“He’s 21; he ticks all the boxes in terms of what Rangers [are looking for], how their recruitment is going. I’m not sure exactly what the cost would be.” Younger guys, bring them in, improve them, then might we sell them on?

“Listen, he’s a gifted youngster in the Scotland Under-21s; you don’t make the Euros if you’re not a decent player so what you can see is there’s a lot to work with there and a lot to improve. I believe our present manager would do it.

Rangers give Glen Kamara a windfall as the Leeds United player revealed his £8.6 million departure

Only last summer did the former Dundee midfielder move from Ibrox to Elland Road.

Glen Kamara’s £8.6 million move to Rennes has reportedly brought Rangers a six-figure windfall.

Last summer, the 28-year-old Finland international moved from Ibrox to Elland Road for £5 million. And even though the former Dundee star made a name for himself as a vital player in his Whites debut, he has made the decision to take on a new challenge in Ligue 1.According to the Daily Record, Gers added a sell-on option to the agreement that sent Kamara to the English Championship, allowing them to keep a portion of the money.

Earlier tonight, Kamara thanked Leeds supporters on Instagram for their support during his brief but memorable tenure with Daniel Farke’s team.

He wrote: “I want to use this chance to express my gratitude to @leedsunited for giving me the opportunity to represent this incredible club.” Although the journey was brief, it is undoubtedly one I will never forget. I send my best wishes to the staff, my teammates, and the fans, of course.”

Gers manager Philippe Clement, who acknowledged earlier this week that he must sell before he can acquire any more players this summer, will be encouraged by the news. The Light Blues will have to temporarily relocate to Hampden Park as a result of Ibrox renovations that are taking longer than expected to complete.

Clement seems uninterested looking at Rangers star in the eye following an apparent departure request on Instagram

Numerous Rangers headlines have already mentioned Todd Cantwell and Philippe Clement’s friendship.

At his peak, Todd Cantwell—who was signed by Michael Beale in January 2023—ranked among the most technically proficient and accomplished players the Rangers have had in recent memory.

Cantwell is an attacking midfielder with creativity and boldness who can score incredible goals. He was once on the verge of joining Bayern Munich.

However, Cantwell’s career has been beset by problems with attitude and application; his tenure at Ibrox was also negatively impacted by the midfielder’s frequently conceited attitude.

Since hooking the player in the first half of last season’s Europa League match against Aris Limassol, Philippe Clement has not participated in any games.

Fans of Rangers, one of whom Cantwell called a “weapon” during the preseason, have also grown weary of the midfielder’s methods.

The news that Clement has sat down the midfield player will raise heads at Ibrox, since the 26-year-old has not been seen since this summer. There have also been rumours that Cantwell wants to leave Rangers.

Clement divulges reveal squad discussions.

Although Todd Cantwell has been the subject of a lot of leave rumours this summer, the Rangers star travelled to the Netherlands with the team for their training camp.

The Rangers manager has now disclosed that he has used the Dutch camp as an opportunity to conduct in-depth one-on-one conversations with each and every player on his team.

Even though up to seven players have been connected to the Rangers exodus, we would most like to have been a fly on the wall during the conversation with Todd Cantwell.

According to Clement, RangersTV, “it was also important with all the players, all 30 that were here, individual talks during this week.”

“This week has been quite busy. For the staff, this meant that we had these one-on-one conversations practically every evening from seven 7:30 am to eleven or twelve pm.

Regarding the significance of the discussions, Clement responded, “It’s imperative.” Okay, the folks I knew for the previous seven months, most of them.

However, the purpose is to clarify everything and discuss working aspects. It’s also to talk about their positive aspects and all we anticipate from them this season.

It converses in both directions. at order to improve things at the club, with them, and with the group, we now have a better understanding of what goes on within the team and with the players.

Cantwell is absent from the Rangers roster.

It’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what Philippe Clement and Todd Cantwell discussed during the training camp.

However, the absence of the midfield player from both the Ajax and Standard Liege friendlies has brought attention to the matter.

In response to a question concerning the absence, Clement stated that the player is unable to play because of “small things.”

Although the Belgian manager may have been discussing injuries, there has been conjecture that Clement was referring to anything more.

The player’s future is still unknown when you consider that Cantwell’s agency has offered him a contract with Serie A team Lecce and that former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has offered the Rangers star an Instagram fan account.

We believe that Todd Cantwell is an indisputable asset to Rangers Football Club when he is completely focused.

At his worst, though, the midfielder exudes an air of unwanted attention, so whatever transpires this summer needs to be best for the Gers.
