Rangers are in a lot of trouble this summer because of all the problems that have been building up around Ibrox.

In an interview with Football Insider’s Inside Track show on June 28, Scottish expert and reporter Daniel Bowers said this.

The club had hoped to finish fixing up parts of the stadium, especially the Copland Road Stand, but getting the materials on time has been slow, and there have been other problems as well. Ibrox probably won’t be ready for the 2024–25 season.

Rangers’ goalkeeper officially ends his loan exit

Ranger’s teen custodian Jacob Pazikas will be leaving on loan to join Stranraer this summer.

The club’s Rangers B & Academy tweeted on June 21 that the 19-year-old had joined the Scottish team for the next season.

Pazikas hasn’t played for the Light Blues yet as a senior player. He spent last season on loan with the Civil Service Strollers in the Lowland League, where he made 23 appearances and kept seven clean sheets.

Since he left, he can’t play for the first team anymore, since Jon McLaughlin has already left and Robby McCrorie has turned down a contract extension at Ibrox [Daily Record, 4 June].

You can expect Robby McCrorie and Jack Butland to leave the Rangers this summer.

While Pazikas’ loan isn’t a big surprise in and of itself, it comes during a transfer window that has already seen one custodian leave permanently (McLaughlin), and three more could leave in some way before the summer is over.

McCrorie, who is 26, has spent his whole senior career with the Light Blues. However, he has only played seven times for the first team due to numerous loans, so he needs to leave if Philippe Clement is not going to make him his first choice.

As long as star player Jack Butland stays in Glasgow, there will only be one person at the top of the list. However, rumours have been going around for a long time that big-money offers could come in for the former Crystal Palace player.

Alan Nixon wrote on May 28 that there doesn’t seem to be a market for him to go back to the Premier League, and Clement will hope that stays the case.

We expect Liam Kelly to come back to Ibrox as the main backup after leaving Motherwell [Sky Sports, June 18], but we don’t know who will fill the third spot yet.

Kieran Wright might be the next most obvious choice, but at 25 years old and having never played for the club, he is in a similar situation to McCrorie and has been tipped to leave [Rangers Review, 5 June].

Unless Clement and Nils Koppen sign another custodian to go with Kelly, they will probably bring someone up from the academy, but it looks like Pazikas won’t be that person.

Rangers will be “offered” the chance to use Hampden as the SFA steps in to help with their temporary move out of Ibrox

The pitch will be moved to the National Stadium, but a new report says that won’t be a problem.

According to one report, the SFA is willing to let Rangers use Hampden to help them with their schedule. The pitch at the National Stadium WON’T be a problem, either.

The Ibrox team said on Thursday that they are looking at other options since their home field will probably be closed for the first month of the 2024–25 season because of delays in improving the Copland Road stand. Immediately after that, an SFA spokesperson said that they would be happy to sit down with them and help them find a solution.

At first, it looked like playing at Hampden was the best option, but soon after, news came out that the National Stadium would be closed for work on the pitch. But now the Daily Mail says that won’t be a problem and that Rangers can play at Hampden. That’s because the Hampden pitch will be fixed up after Pink plays there on June 28 and 29. However, it will be ready for the start of next season.

And they say the SFA is “willing” to let the Ibrox club use it for a short time. Although that would be a good way for Philippe Clement to prepare, it would have to work with Queen’s Park’s schedule, since the Hampden-based team is currently back playing at their long-term home.

There have been no talks about a short-term lease, but the governing body is willing to have them. Murrayfield is another option, since Rangers is playing Manchester United there on July 20. However, Scottish Rugby has not yet said if that could become a long-term plan.

Rangers could also play their first few games away from home and then switch things around later in the season when Ibrox is ready. But it’s said that’s not even considered as an option.

Report from Turkiye Gazetesi Betis will try to sign the full-back if Arthur Masuaku leaves the club this summer.

The newspaper says Nantes wants the former West Ham defender and is ready to make a better offer than their previous €2m offer.

It is now “certain” that Masuaku will leave, which means Van Bronckhorst could try to sign Ridvan from Rangers.

It’s thought that the Dutch manager has given the go-ahead to try to make a deal with Rangers for the left back if Masuaku’s transfer goes through in the next few days.

Transfer rumours about Ridvan’s future come after the player said he wouldn’t be leaving Rangers because he was committed to staying there.

“Rangers is where I want to be right now, and there are no plans for me to leave,” he said.

“I am enjoying my break with my family here and I will return to Scotland in time for the pre-season training camp soon.”

Rangers officials are said to want to keep the defender and have no plans to start the new season without him at Ibrox.

The defender is still happy at Ibrox and isn’t being actively sought after by other teams. However, every player has a price, and Ridvan would have to get an offer that was too good to refuse in order to leave this summer.

Turkish news sources say that any money made from Masuaku’s departure could be used to sign Ridvan.

It’s no secret that Glasgow Rangers need a real goal scorer badly if they want to get back to the top of Scottish football.

Many people have come to Glasgow with a lot of expectations, but they haven’t been able to really get going at Ibrox.

Player names like Cedric Itten, Antonio Colak, and most recently Cyriel Dessers have not really stood out as ones who could score 30 or more goals a season.

Yes, Colak scored 18 goals and Dessers scored 22 goals in their single seasons with the Light Blues, but Philippe Clement needs someone like Kris Boyd.

The former Scotland player wasn’t the most flexible, quick, or even strong, but there was only one thing that could happen when the ball dropped to his feet in the box. The goal.

In December of that year, he was able to get Boyd to leave Kilmarnock, and he would pay back every penny over the next four years.

There’s no doubt that he’s not perfect yet, but Clement wants to sign players who can really improve after moving to Ibrox.

Jefte and Oscar Cortes, two new players signed this summer, are still young and have a lot to learn, but the Belgian could help them grow into players who can make the Light Blues a huge profit in the future.

If he plays in a league where he can score a lot of goals, it will boost his confidence a lot. The Gers might finally find their heir to Boyd.

Clement can try to get him by making an offer this summer, or he can wait until January and take a chance by waiting until the player signs a pre-contract agreement.

But we told you that Garcia, a 20-year-old midfielder who plays for Penarol in his home country, was looking for a cheap deal because his contract was up in December.

Garcia was Penarol’s best player when they won the under-20 Copa Libertadores in 2022. He also played in all seven games at the under-20 World Cup in 2023, where Uruguay won the title.

But it’s not likely that he’ll be at Ibrox any time soon. Several sources in Uruguay say that he’s about to sign a hugely improved contract that will stop him from moving ANYWHERE this summer.

The release clause is a huge £7.8m if he does decide to move in January or the summer of 2019.

Probably for the foreseeable future, that will make it impossible for the Ibrox team to get him.

It is said that the deal was made in Mexico by sporting director Ignacio Ruglio and owner Edgardo Lasalvia.
