Trending Rumors – Real Madrid intends to re-sign attacking midfielder Nico Paz next summer, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport. The 21-year-old had a great first season with Como in Serie A, scoring six goals, and he has continued his form this season, scoring twice in his first three games. Los Blancos pondered activating Paz’s €9 million clause in the summer, but felt he would earn more minutes under Como manager Cesc Fabregas. However, they may return at the end of the season to fight off interest from teams like Tottenham Hotspur.
– TalkSPORT reports that Newcastle United is interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo in January. The 21-year-old revealed a wish to leave Old Trafford in the summer after falling out with manager Ruben Amorim, but United rejected any offers. However, Mainoo remains out of the first team and was not picked in England’s World Cup qualifiers this month. If the midfielder remains injured, Magpies manager Eddie Howe may put United’s determination to the test. Mainoo has appeared in three of United’s five games thus far, but has only started once, returning to the bench for the loss to Manchester City on Sunday.
Barcelona is interested in Portuguese forward Cardoso Varela, but Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb is unlikely to allow him depart in the next two seasons, according to Mundo Deportivo. Varela’s agent was reportedly observed at the office of Barcelona’s sports director, Deco. Barça have long admired the 16-year-old, who joined Zagreb from FC Porto. Varela, who has only recently signed a deal until 2028, has impressed with his speed, dribbling, and dangerous finishing ability.
– According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are looking at signing Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton in January. The Blues are planning a midseason move for England international Wharton due to injury concerns with Romeo Lavia. After fending off interest in Wharton from a number of clubs, including Manchester United, in the summer, Palace will be wary of losing one of their important players in the January transfer window.
– According to El Desmarque, Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal are among the clubs watching the position of French midfielder Lucien Agoumé, who is now with Sevilla. The dynamic defensive midfielder is garnering attention after securing his position in the Sevilla squad with a string of good performances at the close of last season and the start of the 2025-26 season. The 23-year-old, who works hard off the ball and has one goal in his first four games, is still being followed by scouts around Europe.
