Will De Bruyne start for Napoli against Manchester City in the Champions League?
The Champions League draw has thrown up an emotional fixture for Kevin De Bruyne.
Manchester City’s Champions League campaign begins tonight at home against Napoli, with all eyes on one player in particular.
After a great decade with Manchester City, which included six Premier League titles and the Champions League.
Kevin De Bruyne returns to the Etihad Stadium for the first time.
De Bruyne has had an impressive start to life in Naples.
He made his competitive debut for the club with a goal in their 2-0 win over Sassuolo on the first weekend of the new Serie A season, and he scored again the following weekend in a 3-1 victory over Fiorentina.
Pep Guardiola is not shocked by De Bruyne’s quick start in Italy and is excited to reunite with him after the game.
Guardiola said of De Bruyne during the Manchester City pre-match press conference: “Of course, it’s good to see him back. [I’m delighted] to see him after the game.
“Not surprised [by his start in Italy]. He plays at that level extremely quickly; players at that level do not need to adapt.
“[What does he give Napoli?] His outstanding talent, vision, passing, assisting, and scoring in the final third. “He is unique.”

With Guardiola well aware of De Bruyne’s talent, would the Belgian be given the opportunity to haunt Manchester City?
Will De Bruyne play against Manchester City?
De Bruyne has accompanied the Napoli group to Manchester and will very definitely face his former club.
In fact, Napoli manager Antonio Conte has hinted that De Bruyne is poised to start.
“It has always been very careful preparation for every single match; we are not doing anything particularly different, but I have spoken with Kevin. “I’ve asked him a few questions,” Conte told reporters.
“He’s been with this club for ten years and has a wonderful coach in Pep Guardiola.
“Kevin will be excited to be playing but I’m hoping that after the starting whistle he will find his feet and remember he’s playing for our great Napoli and contribute like he has been doing.”
De Bruyne has appeared in the last five games for club and country, scoring six goals in the process.
