How to watch Mikaela Shiffrin and Lindsey Vonn live at FIS Alpine ski World Cup Finals 2025 in Sun Valley
The 2025 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Finals are set to take place in Sun Valley, Idaho, from March 20 to 27. This prestigious event marks the first time since 2017 that the World Cup Finals are being held on American soil, bringing together the world’s top alpine ski racers to compete in downhill, super-G, giant slalom, and slalom disciplines. Among the elite athletes participating, American stars Mikaela Shiffrin and Lindsey Vonn are expected to draw significant attention.
Mikaela Shiffrin: A Season of Resilience
Mikaela Shiffrin, renowned for her technical prowess and record-breaking performances, faced challenges this season due to an oblique muscle injury sustained in a giant slalom crash on November 30. This injury sidelined her for two months, impacting her pursuit of the World Cup slalom season title. Despite these setbacks, Shiffrin made a commendable return to competition, securing three World Cup wins this season, bringing her career total to an unprecedented 100 victories. At the World Championships in Saalbach, Austria, she finished fifth in the slalom event, narrowly missing her 16th career medal. Shiffrin is scheduled to compete in the slalom event on March 27 at the Sun Valley Finals.
Lindsey Vonn: A Remarkable Comeback
Lindsey Vonn, the 2010 Olympic downhill champion, made headlines this season with her return to competitive skiing at the age of 40, following a five-year retirement. Her comeback has been met with enthusiasm and admiration from fans and fellow athletes alike. Vonn’s best finishes this season include a fourth place in super-G and sixth in downhill. She is slated to compete in both the downhill on March 22 and the super-G on March 23 at the Sun Valley Finals.
