Albion Rrahmani’s latest news comes from the Romanian press, which says Rangers are “preparing” an offer and a new price tag of €6million

Heart of Midlothian and Rangers played to a 0-0 draw at Tynecastle, which wasn’t a great start for the new Premiership season.

For Philippe Clement, a good start to the new season was important as he continues to rebuild the Rangers.

But that didn’t quite happen because Rangers only had three shots on goal even though they had 63% of the ball.

Toothless isn’t good enough, and Rangers will not win the title without better offensive play.

Some of his responsibilities lie with Clement; we have yet to see Rangers with a clear plan for how to attack under the Belgian.

Rangers do need to get another attacker, though, and we need to make that a top priority in the next few weeks.

Albion Rrahmani’s most recent

After just over a year at Ibrox, Cyriel Dessers has failed to really convince Rangers fans that he should be their manager.

Chris Sutton says that Striker Lawrence Shankland from Hearts wants to move to Rangers, but Rangers may look elsewhere.

Rangers and Albion Rrahmani have been linked for months now. Last season, Rrahmani scored 18 goals in 28 games for Rapid Bucharest.

The Kosovo player only joined from FC Ballkani last summer, but he is now wanted by many teams.

Now, ProSport in Romania says that Rangers are “getting ready to make an offer” for Rrahmani.

They say that Rapid wanted about €8 million (£6.8 million) for Rrahmani this summer.

The report also says that Rapid is now asking for €6 million (£5.1 million) plus a 20% sell-on clause.

It’s been pointed out that Rrahmani is hurt right now, but a deal hasn’t been ruled out yet.

However, Rapid would like to keep Rrahmani until at least January. If Rangers made a good offer, a deal could happen.

Rrahmani price tag mess-up

There have been a lot of different claims about how much Rrahmani will really cost this summer.

In July, Viorel Moldovan, president of Rapid Bucharest, said that the least amount of money that could be paid for Rrahmani would be £4.2 million.

We have to believe what he said, but he might try to get extras to make the deal worth more than the £5.1 million that is being talked about now.

Rangers would have to make a big investment in Rrahmani, and there is a lot of risk involved.

Rrahmani has only been in Romania for a year; before that, he was playing in Kosovo, so spending more than £4 million on him might be risky.

Rangers have to decide whether to go with the tried-and-true Shankland, who won’t be worth much when it comes time to sell, or the riskier import Rrahmani, who could become a star and bring in a lot of money in the future.

Based on how they played on Saturday, Rangers need to get moving quickly as the transfer window closes in less than a month.
