Celtic bans Green Brigade members once more following fiery statement
The Green Brigade has launched a strong criticism of Celtic’s board after claiming that two of its members have once again been subjected to disciplinary action by the club.
The supporters’ group has alleged that the latest move represents another chapter in a long-running dispute between the ultras organisation and the Celtic hierarchy. According to the Green Brigade, the decision comes shortly after many of its members were allowed to return to matches following a lengthy suspension that kept them away from games for several months.

In a strongly worded statement, the group expressed frustration at what it views as an unfair and unnecessary escalation of tensions, accusing club officials of acting in a manner that threatens the unity that supporters and players helped build during the closing stages of the season.
Return From Lengthy Ban Brought Renewed Atmosphere
The Green Brigade highlighted the fact that hundreds of supporters associated with the group had only recently returned to Celtic matches after serving what they describe as an unjustified punishment.
According to the statement, around 250 supporters were able to rejoin the stands during the final six weeks of the campaign after previously being excluded for five months and missing a total of 32 matches.
The group argued that their return had an immediate impact on the atmosphere inside the stadium, helping to restore the energy and passion that many fans associate with Celtic Park on matchdays.
They pointed to comments made throughout the club, including acknowledgements from players and members of the coaching staff, suggesting that the improved atmosphere created by supporters played a significant role in helping the team finish the season strongly.
The Green Brigade believes that the renewed connection between fans and players helped inspire a memorable conclusion to the campaign and contributed to Celtic securing major success.
Supporters Claim Unity Was Key to Success
In its statement, the group reflected on what it described as an unforgettable ending to the season.
Members argued that the achievements enjoyed by the team would not have been possible without a strong sense of togetherness throughout the club.
According to the Green Brigade, unity between supporters in the stands and players on the pitch was crucial in helping Celtic overcome challenges and achieve success when many had doubted their chances.
The group suggested that the relationship between fans and the team became one of the defining features of the final weeks of the campaign.
For that reason, they expressed disappointment that fresh tensions have emerged so quickly after what they considered to be a period of reconciliation and renewed cooperation.
The Green Brigade believes that recent events risk damaging the positive momentum that had been created.
Fresh Allegations Spark New Controversy
The latest dispute centres on two individuals connected to the Green Brigade who have reportedly been informed that they face disciplinary action from Celtic.
The supporters’ group insists that the allegations being used against the pair are based on issues that should already have been resolved.
According to the statement, the concerns relate to matters that were discussed several months ago and had not previously prevented the individuals from returning alongside other supporters after the earlier ban was lifted.
Because of this, the Green Brigade questions why the issue has resurfaced now and argues that the timing raises serious concerns.
The group believes the club’s actions lack justification and claims the disciplinary measures are based on what it describes as weak and vexatious allegations.
These concerns have become a major source of frustration among members of the organisation.
Timing of Decision Criticised
One of the main complaints raised by the Green Brigade concerns the timing of the club’s decision.
The group alleges that the two members were informed of the situation less than 24 hours before the deadline for season ticket renewals.
According to the statement, both individuals were told that they would be unable to renew their season tickets while the disciplinary process remained ongoing.
The Green Brigade argues that this timing is far from coincidental.
Instead, the organisation believes the move was deliberately designed to place additional pressure on the supporters involved and limit their ability to respond effectively.
The group described the timing as cynical and questioned why action was not taken earlier if the concerns were considered serious enough to warrant disciplinary proceedings.
For supporters involved, the development has added another layer of tension to an already difficult relationship between sections of the fanbase and club officials.
Questions Raised Over Earlier Reinstatement
The Green Brigade also pointed to the fact that both individuals had previously been allowed to return to matches alongside other supporters following the conclusion of the earlier ban.
According to the group, this undermines the credibility of the allegations now being raised.
They argue that if the concerns were genuinely significant, the individuals would not have been reinstated at the same time as other affected supporters.
Because both members were permitted to return to Celtic Park without issue, the Green Brigade believes the current action appears inconsistent.
The organisation suggests that this inconsistency raises doubts about the reasoning behind the latest disciplinary process.
For the group, the sequence of events strengthens its belief that the move is motivated by factors beyond the allegations themselves.
Longstanding Relationship With Celtic Officials
The Green Brigade stressed that the two individuals involved are not unknown figures within the club.
According to the statement, both have spent years engaging with Celtic representatives and have regularly participated in discussions and supporter-related matters.
The group noted that each individual has been involved in representing fan interests and maintaining dialogue with club officials over an extended period.
Because of these longstanding interactions, the Green Brigade argues that Celtic’s senior leadership is fully aware of the identities, backgrounds, and contributions of the supporters concerned.
The organisation believes this history should have encouraged a more constructive approach rather than the disciplinary measures that have now been introduced.
The statement suggested that the club’s actions risk damaging relationships that have been built over many years.
Key Roles Within Supporter Initiatives Highlighted
The Green Brigade also emphasised the contributions made by the two members at the centre of the controversy.
According to the group, one of the individuals played a significant role in helping establish and develop the Celtic Fans Collective.
The organisation credited that supporter initiative with achieving important successes and helping represent fan interests within the wider Celtic community.
Meanwhile, the second individual was described as a prominent advocate for Palestine solidarity activities associated with Celtic supporters.
The Green Brigade noted that both causes have often generated disagreement between supporters and club officials.
As a result, the organisation suggested that the latest disciplinary measures may be connected to broader tensions that have existed for some time.
While the group did not present direct evidence for this belief, it argued that the backgrounds of the individuals involved cannot be ignored when considering the wider context.
Support for Fair Procedures Remains
Despite its criticism of the club, the Green Brigade stressed that it supports fair and transparent disciplinary procedures when genuine concerns exist.
The organisation stated that it has no objection to investigations where reasonable complaints are supported by evidence.
According to the group, accountability and proper processes are important in maintaining trust and fairness.
However, the Green Brigade insists that the current situation does not meet those standards.
Instead, it argues that the allegations lack credibility and that the process appears designed to target individuals rather than resolve legitimate concerns.
The statement made clear that the group believes the disciplinary action is unjustified and disproportionate.
This distinction formed a central part of its criticism of the club’s handling of the matter.
Strong Criticism of Celtic Leadership
Much of the Green Brigade’s frustration was directed toward senior figures within Celtic’s leadership structure.
The organisation claimed that the current dispute demonstrates that deeper problems remain unresolved despite recent efforts to improve relations.
The statement specifically referred to key figures within the club hierarchy and suggested that meaningful unity would remain difficult while the current leadership structure stays in place.
According to the group, long-standing disagreements between supporters and club officials continue to influence decision-making.
The Green Brigade argued that recent events serve as evidence that the underlying issues responsible for previous conflicts have not disappeared.
Instead, they believe the latest controversy highlights how fragile the relationship remains.
The statement reflected a deep sense of disappointment that tensions have resurfaced so quickly after a period that appeared to offer hope of improved cooperation.
Determination to Challenge the Allegations
Looking ahead, the Green Brigade made clear that it intends to contest the allegations being made against the two supporters.
The group stated that it will challenge the disciplinary process and defend the individuals involved.
However, despite that determination, the organisation expressed concern about what it believes may be a predetermined outcome.
The statement suggested there is little confidence that the process will be conducted fairly or lead to an impartial conclusion.
This belief has contributed to fears that the situation could trigger another period of division between supporters and the club.
The Green Brigade warned that unnecessary conflict risks overshadowing the sense of unity that helped define the closing weeks of the season.
As the dispute develops, attention will now turn to how Celtic responds and whether both sides can avoid a renewed breakdown in relations that could once again dominate discussion around the club.
