Middlesbrough’s new signing is expected to make his Ewood Park debut following Blackburn Rovers’ windfall.

Former Blackburn Rovers academy prospect Ash Phillips could be handed his Middlesbrough debut against his former club when Boro travel to Ewood Park, adding an interesting subplot to an already significant Championship fixture.

Phillips completed his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday and was officially introduced to Middlesbrough supporters before the club’s victory over Lincoln City.
