Operation Gristaline was established to investigate the disorder. Police chiefs previously warned those responsible that officers would continue pursuing them, and the latest arrests and reports show that the investigation remains active.

Three More People Reported

Police Scotland has now revealed that two male youths have been charged in connection with alleged offences on the Trongate. A third man is also set to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal over his alleged involvement.

The latest development means that the number of people arrested in connection with incidents on the day has reached 50.

Officers say the disorder intensified when police moved into the area after becoming aware that an individual required medical assistance. According to police, some people within the crowd then turned against officers, leading to a confrontation.
