A historic 2025 commitment to Alabama has been made by the top 6’3 250 Five-Star EDGE from Harvest, AL, who chose the Crimson Tide over
With sixteen, the Alabama Crimson Tide hold the second-highest number of national titles in college football history.
Even if the first year of the Kalen DeBoer period did not go as expected, the program is doing well. Jamarion Matthew, an edge rusher and Alabama recruit, was one of the biggest risers in the On300 Rankings on Monday.
Matthews went from being ranked 121st overall to 65th in the 2026 class’s revised rankings.
Matthews is one of five 2026 pledges from Alabama. At the moment, the Crimson Tide has three four-star, one three-star, and one five-star commit.

According to the On300 Rankings, Matthews, a four-star recruit, is currently ranked as the tenth best edge rusher in his class. Since February, he has been dedicated to Alabama.
Five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds, four-star cornerback Zach Gibson, Matthews, four-star inside offensive lineman Chris Booker, and three-star defensive lineman Kamhariyan Johnson are also part of Alabama’s 2026 class.
According to On3 Sports, the Crimson Tide’s 2026 class is currently ranked eighth overall.
Nine victories marked the end of DeBoer’s first season in Tuscaloosa. His most notable victories were over the No. 15 LSU Tigers, No. 21 Missouri Tigers, and No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs.
The Vanderbilt Commodores, the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers, the Oklahoma Sooners, and the Michigan Wolverines were Alabama’s four opponents.
DeBoer’s second season begins against a team the Crimson Tide had only faced four times. On August 30, Alabama takes on the Florida State Seminoles in the 2025 season opener. The two last crossed paths in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2017.
The game’s kickoff time and channel have not yet been revealed.
