Caitlin Clark and boyfriend Connor McCaffery sent touching tributes to one other on social media after celebrating their two-year anniversary earlier this week.

Caitlin Clark sent a passionate greeting to boyfriend Connor McCaffery, celebrating a significant milestone.

Clark has had an exciting summer, including a surprise appearance at the Pacers-Bucks playoff game and celebrating teammate Lexie Hull’s engagement. Despite the Indiana Fever’s hectic schedule, Flavour Flav hoped to meet her eventually.

Clark turned to social media on Thursday to honour her two-year anniversary with McCaffery. In April 2023, the elite athletes started dating while playing basketball at the University of Iowa.

“Another year with my favourite person:) I’m so thankful for you,” Clark wrote with a series of black-and-white images of herself and McCaffery having a passionate hug. Several of her teammates, past and current, quickly congratulated the newlyweds in the comments section.

“Favs,” Hull commented beside two love emojis, while former Hawkeye Gabbie Marshall added, “CUTEST EVER!!!!”

Iowa junior Taylor McCabe added, “mom and dad omg,” while former player Jada Gyamfi said, “Happy birthday to my favourite parents. I love you guys.”

McCaffery also commemorated the occasion on his Instagram page, uploading another black-and-white photo of the couple holding hands with the caption: “2 years, keep being u.”

After graduating from Iowa in 2023, McCaffery – whose father, Fran McCaffery, was stripped of his position as Iowa men’s basketball head coach last month – joined the Indiana Pacers’ coaching staff. But the 26-year-old left in September 2024 to become an assistant coach for Butler University’s men’s basketball team.

Clark told reporters after a Fever practice that he was excited about McCaffery’s new chance. “I’m super excited for him, obviously his basketball knowledge is pretty good,” she joked. “It’s wonderful to bounce ideas off one other.

“He worked very hard for it. It’ll be wonderful to attend such games. I adore college basketball; he’s clearly been around it his whole life and has put a lot of effort into it. I believe it’ll be entertaining and offer me something to do over the summer.”

Though McCaffery has pursued a different route in his basketball career, Clark said that he is still incredibly supportive of her WNBA endeavours, adding that the two regularly find time to play together. “That’s definitely something we love, coming in here, shooting late at night or having some shooting competitions,” she told me.

“It gets a bit heated; I obviously outshoot him much more than he outshoots me, but he wants to believe otherwise.

“I believe that more than anything, he is supportive and allows me to do my own thing. That’s something I truly love about him: his support and enthusiasm for basketball.”
